  • 2022 Kawasaki Z900RS has been de-catted and is otherwise stock. Got the results of the gains made from stock to de-catted, and now tuned as well.

    Hi everyone, I'm writing from Italy, Thanks for your helpful videos. I have a question for you, I own a z900rs se version 2023, I would like to put the link pipe as in the video and remove the breadbox, I have seen in many videos that this bike has 2 CATs, one inside the box and one in the tube after the o2 sensor , did you leave this? I would like not to remove everything for fear of too much noise.

      It was all removed. Gutted the pipe, and cut off the bread box.
      It wasn't very loud at all. It still has the stock muffler on it. It's very nice sounding.

      i did the cat + breadbox delete on my z900rs cafe 2021, there is only one cat on this bike and that is located in the short section just before the breadbox. the breadbox is basically the muffler and resonator which gives the bike that nice purr. if you pause the video near the start when he shows you the exhaust you can see a color difference where the original exhaust is and where the cat/breadbox delete starts.

    After those mods how does the motor pull at low rpm roll on? Narrow up the low end torque a little bit ?

      It picked it up from 2000 rpm out to close to redline....

    How do you do the de cat? I have a 23 900 cafe and had a tune done by Ivan. Bone stock with a tune. Looking to remove the cat in the most economical way possible, and then im done. What would be your advice?thanks!

      The easiest way I think is to just replace the headers with a catless system, while keeping stock can.

    Hi, mighty good video, very interesting info, thanks.
    Writing from England, have same bike & want to do this. Question if I may, did you disable the Secondary Air Injection prior to flashing ecu? I'm told you have to or the injection of fresh air from the air box to the exhaust pipe will mess up the readings taken by the probe you put in the exhaust to measure? Others say it doesn't matter. I'd love your input seeing as you've done this dyno ecu flash. Cheers!

      I never worried about it... It didn't affect the tune at wide open throttle. And regardless of what the graph says, I tuned them based off of what made power.
      But when you have someone else tuning your bike, just do what they want. It makes it easier for them... All you need is a marble inside the hose that goes to the airbox.
