Chris Uncle Bernie will never be forgotten, that's a legend
Awwww yessss uncle bernie
Damn I forgot he was on that show too!
R.I.P to Merlin Santana Lamont Bentley and Yvette Wilson
And Bernie MAC... it sucks that so many people from this show died.
Miss them all
R.I.P to all the departed.

Every time ray j appears on a sitcom it gets canceled !
True 😂😂😂😂

So true

Eseercam and One on One 😂😂😂
I swear wanted to be Moesha when I was younger! She was so tall and pretty, smart, and had all the cute bfs.
Ikr all the cute bfs 😩😂😂😂
I was in love with each of her hairstyles too.
@@LoveleneLeBlanc Her hairstyle in Season 1 was the ugliest, and most ghetto lol!
Roger wtf are you talking about she was never ugly 😒🙄
@Samira Williams Brandy was 16, going on 17 during Season 1. Her character during the first season was ugly and ghetto.
Sheryl Lee Ralph is such a stand up actress and person for leaving the show because she didn't like the direction it was going. Imagine that kind of bravery?!
Right! I said the same thing. I don't think actresses and actors really do that too much anymore.. Smh.
Shereece S facts
Sheryl has been around for SOOOO long. I'm 54 and remember her when I was in HS. This lady never gets old.
She was right no all men cheat
I totally agree with her. I hated how they unraveled the father's character like that.
Moesha was a beautiful chocolate queen 😍
OMG troyce wtf you doing here I love you
Brandy still is!
👀🔎😂
TROYCETV foreal brandy is too gorgeous
Ayeee..lol
Sheryl Lee is 100% correct, there was no reason to deter the story line like that.
Daé J I agree Moesha wasn’t the same after that .
Yeah it felt so out of left field and a needless way to create drama. Frank wasn't prefect but the twist and Ray J even being in the main cast was too stupid given that he had already played another character on the show. Like we wouldn't notice...come on!
The Dynast Queen wait what other characters did he play ?
@@myaeab4313 In the early seasons, Ray J played the pastor’s son.
@@myaeab4313 And he played as him self in that episode where they “met” Brandy
The producers knew what they were doing. It seemed to hate the positive image that it brought of a black family. Loved this show.
How do you know this? Your just speculating and playing a victim. They do everything for ratings not to make black people look bad. It just backfired this time

Sameeee
"Up in the morning, new day is dawning, it's me, it's me."
Me too
It's sad how a few actors from the show passed away..:(
Right:((
I HATED how they let the show end. Ever since the Dorian character was added, it just went downhill (in my opinion).
Yeah they did the fans wrong with that! I was irked
i agree
That's when I started focusing on The parkers and honestly The parkers turned out to be a better show anyway
They could have focused on Miles more. Brandy probably wanted to help her lame ass lil bro.
Agreed! The show didn't need him
Shar Jackson brought a pleasant energy to the show. She often gets side-lined due to Countess and Brandy's big personalities. And then she was undermined by that Kevin Federline/ Britney Spears messiness - but I found Shar's approach very entertaining. Her contribution was solid.
Everyone forgets Shar
Shar was funny that she played niecy. She also did different roles of good burger, everybody hates chris and more.
Rightttt I love her
My nickname is shar
And I’m an aspiring actress
Like Shar Jackson 👀
I agree.
That “plot twist” was the dumbest thing ever 😒 I hated the show after that 🙄
I was hoping it would spin off into a college oriented show. Like A Different World.
Yeah Sheryl Lee Ralph said on an episode of Unsung on TV One that was what caused the show to come to a halt.
Maybe if Dorian was mentioned in the earlier seasons then it probably would've worked but the timing of it was just bad. Frank was not the type of father that would have a secret son. I wish they had squeezed another episode at least to finish the cliffhanger or they could've just mentioned it on The Parkers.
Najee Nixon I agree. I wanted to know what happened to Miles. I wanted to know who was pregnant. 😕
Right. I feel like Brandy was just trying to secure her brother a permanent role on the show, but that dumb ass plot twist contributed to the down fall of the show.
It was actually my favorite episode because of the acting but I didn’t like the way they messed up a black family
Moesha went to college to cover up everyone leaving the show.
Chastity Shell wow I didn’t know that
That’s my top 5, number 2 to be exact show of all time. And I never payed attention to that until now..
You do have a point..
Good point. Yes one person left and three others died.
Pottery Lady damn
Thats So Raven, Sister Sister, The Parkers, Wayans Bros. show
Martin is an amazing show as well. The Wayans Bro was a good show also but their theme song confused me... was it “Give me a high five or hard fart” 😂
Even tho BET air Martin ALL DAY LONG, i never get tired of it. They need to bring the wayans brothers to BET
@@DeiHarper9361 I thought the Wayans Brothers was on MTV2?
Smart Guy
Yas!
RIP to Merlin, Lamont, Yvette and Bernie!!!!!
As far as the show, that cliffhanger was irking to a fan that watched from the beginning. We were owed more than that.
I did not know Sheryl left because of that. Her and William made valid points as far as the storyline change.
Honestly...IDK about a reboot...it would not be the same without Lamont and Yvette...I would be looking for them both😢
Sadly because of the deaths we won’t get the cliffhangers resolved
Rip
Sadly the hardest part for me was remembering Merlin Santana passing away.... so long ago.

Good for Sheryl Lee. She stood up for herself. Always playing such strong roles, like Florence in Sister Act 2.
They didn't need to need make another Black man a cheater! Smh!
I don't think Ray J was a good addition to the show. He had no business being on Moesha.
Right

Hello this brandy brother
Right
76special he had no business being *in* a lot of things
Loved Mo but the parkers were my ish!!!
Yea. Mine too

I think the Parkers might have been the best spin off of a sitcon DURING THAT TIME. Only saying at that time because, we all know, a different world is like THE BEST BLACK SPIN OFF of a sitcom hands down 😂💯💯
@@kimberlymcneill7283 Agreed!
Kiera H girl yess!!!
Sheryl is so pretty 😍 even now I loved her on the show it's a shame she left.
She's got that black charm... in a good way--not "ghetto," but wholesomely and distinctively African-American. The only other actress I can recall that shares this quality is Marie-Jo Peyton (who played Harriet Winslow on Family Matter, and Hakeem's mother on Moesha... both hardworking and dignified African American-women worthy of emulation by all Americans at large).
@@sdlock83 I met the actress who played Harriet Winslow. BEAUTIFUL 😍 SHE'S HUMBLE, AND SWEET
@@sdlock83 I think a lot of that also comes from her Jamaican side too. Her mother is Jamaican and Sheryl has always incorporated that strong Jamaican side in her acting. But yes I agree with you. She represents class and dignity
@@sdlock83 I feel this way about Phylicia Rashad too.
Jaerich02 Phylicia Rashad is an AMAZING actress. I 2nd your comment.
Hollywood can't show happy Black families on tv for too long.
Lies. Cosby Show!
Yes it seems the days of Family Matters, Fresh Prince, A Different World, Martin, Wayans Bros., Living Single, Cosby Show, The Parkers, Parenthood are all gone.
That's in syndication. There aren't any news shows being created for that certain demographic.
Nope
I love the episode of moesha that introduced monique as kims mom you could tell there was gonna be a spin of

Countess was very talented.. Funny, could sing, Im gonna give her FULL CREDIT.. Countess did add a great element to the Moesha show..
I mean the truth is. After Kim left moesha the show wasn’t that good
Lol I loved it! I guess I am such a big Brandy fan I didn't notice Kim had left. The college episodes were my fav!
I think the show could have survived longer if Kim had stay, and they not written the storyline about Frank having an affair.
Pottery Lady I recently rewatched ever episode here on RUclips and you could definitely tell the difference once she left
B MOORE it was still funny tho, but the affair caught me off guard

90s baby here. 1992. Watched this show back in the 90s.
They ruined Moesha by doing Frank like that, I watched the show from the beginning and he was one of a few black role models you could look up to at the time. I stopped watching as it really went downhill after the adultery storyline and it was a real shame as Moesha was a good show
and you could tell that wasn’t Frank’s character smh 🤦🏾♀️
@@laayybaeee7770 Especially when a few seasons ago a woman was trying to flirt with Frank and he turned them down because of how happy he was with Dee - even they were shocked at how faithful he was.
Wow. You got the scoop. I didn't know about the issues behimd the scenes and I grew up in the 90s watching it. The drama is oh too real.
@Melissa Diamond I never really followed the behind the scene stiff for this show but the facts left me saying wow.
Me too i feel so late about it
That Dorien bit made no sense so Sheryl Lee Ralph made a good move by taking a stand and leaving. Dorien/Ray J HAD ALREADY BEEN INTRODUCED IN EARLIER SEASONS of MOESHA as someone trying to sell a mixtape...they DID NOT have to do that.
He appeared in the episode 'Million man March' its was a joke
I still can't get over the fact that Lamont Bentley is no longer with us. Such a gifted actor with impeccable comic timing.
The show's cast members have suffered some horrible tragedies. It's just so sad.
Do one on the 90s show called The Parent 'Hood and hanging with Mr. Cooper

She did
Andrea Foxx Duh Yes I know
She’s about to be 42. Time is flying by fast!!!!
Countess and Brandy were young kids who were pit against each other by adults. So I don’t see no wrong in their beef.
This was one of the only black family & female shows that gave me life as a black African in the U.K. it was so needed
This was huge here in the UK. I was a black teen back then.
Sooo huge in the UK amongst Black Britons.
My older loved watching Moesha on Nickelodeon back then.
Definitely
Sooooooo are we just gonna ignore the deaths of Bernie Mac and Ricky Harris who played Frank's brother and Frank's mechanic, respectively, and who both dated Andell? #IJS
Coco Chanteé Whoa Frank's brother died too?!?
Gees Louise so many people from the show gone! 😭
Oh yeah I forgot they were a part of the show too☹️
...many have already talked about Bernie Mac...
It’s too weird and coincidental. Very sad
The writers should've let Dorian just be Moesha's cousin.
They didn't
I agree
I read a thread on Twitter that Brandy's mom had a huge part in swaying the creators to make Ray J part of the main cast by writing in Dorian as Moesha's step brother
@@hildamulwa4692 half*
All they had to do was a Fresh Prince of Bel Air kind of thing...a goofy cousin who needs guidance...that would've been funny to watch and could've elevated Frank....they could've had Dorian join moesha in college after high school
It breaks my heart to this day that the last episode left us questioning what happened to Miles and whether Mo was pregnant or not. We still need answers almost two decades later.
“Whos thinner?” Lmao come on
When they had the Moesha reunion a while back, Countess was actin up. She didn't seem too happy to be there and she was making side remarks. Just seemed like she had a dark cloud over her the entire time. She's a great actress and she did bring some great energy to the show when she was on it. It's sad that whatever happened between them had an effect in their real lives because they played their roles of best friends very well
Brandy Norwood is not all that no one is not even Beyonce ' Knowles Carter
The Sheryl Lee Ralph situation kinda reminds me of John Amos being fired from Good Times because he protested the direction the show was going. He didn’t like the “minstrel show” direction that kept being emphasized with JJ doing “soft shoe rap dance” crap, , it took away from the strength of the “black family” concept that the audience needed to see. I wonder if the younger cast members actually understood her reasons for leaving, Hope their parents taught them about black pride 👍🏿
i respect Ms Sheryl Lee soooo much for standing up for what she believed in!!

TwiFiveGirls101 Well, apparently this situation happened to Brandy and Ray J in real life. Their biological dad has another son outside of his marriage that Brandy & Ray J learned about around the time of this show....
Unaltered Beauty oh wooowwwww... I ddn’t kno tht
The twist with Dorian actually being the illegitimate son of Frank Mitchell was truly the moment when "Moesha" jumped the shark. It was a great show before Ray J came into the mix.
I miss black sitcoms...they have so much soul!

I grew up in Italy so I never got to watch that many shows that depicted black families, at most what I got were Fresh Prince of Bellair and My Wife and kids. Thank you for the video, it was very informational and made me want to start watching the show

If this is true, then Countess got what she deserved because she was the star of The Parkers, until the world was introduced to Mo'Nique...who, imo, is why the show was successful

noel gené when your young you do crazy things 🤷🏽♀️
This was 90s tabloids/interviews. No shady, passive aggressive bs. It was just played off on camera for press. And they were kids
I would still think the publicists or management would guide the girls on how to conduct themselves in an interview, what topics to not address & what to say to avoid drama etc etc. It's not expected for Brandy or Countess to have known what to do, but the adults knew.

Sis, I *JUST* discovered your channel a few days ago, and I LOVE IT. Your docu-vids are not only *INCREDIBLY* interesting, but also *SO PROFESSIONAL* as well! Sadly, it's sometimes difficult to find RUclips channels with both. (Many times when you find *interesting* channels, the video quality sucks. And then on the flip, when you find channels with good *quality*, the videos are boring, uninteresting, or have poorly researched and inaccurate content.)
YOURS IS THE REAL DEAL...the editing, the voice-overs, and especially the information given...you have the full package! I've watched other channels on RUclips with similar content as yours, but yours BY FAR is superior. (the channel I'm thinking of specifically, has a low quality, muffled mic, and she tends to allow her biasness and opinions filter through, which quite frankly makes me reluctant to trust anything she's speaking on.)
I like the fact that in *YOUR* vids, you are able to narrate in a clear, pleasant, and professional tone. Thanks for everything you do and for all your hard work!
This was a great watch. Thank you for posting this.

I remember this about the show and it had me crying and everything which had me all messed up which means when something is based on black families and friends that they change it into something that is sad and disrespectful towards the community.
Sheryl L. Ralph is right! Every time there's a black sitcom on television, that displays a wholesome family friendly reflection, of good black family imagery.....they redo good black scripts in to these "Willie Lynch, how to separate black families and make the head of the house, black man look weak, deceptive, and powerless in his role! Everybody loved Moesha! But like "Black Wall Street," when black's start to rise up, raise there families up, create good imagery..... they've got to find a way to divide and concord anything that displays a happy, empowered, functioning Black Family! When they brought Ray Jay....Brandy's brother on there, I saw the downhill change coming, which altimately changed Brandy's behavior (ego), if you will! Black actor's/actresses need to come together and establish there own Television Production Studio's, Artist Development Management Organization (building up great examples), Black Hollywood, and Hiring black writers who can write for the black family! The whole music, movie, and television industry is ran by evil-doers!

@@JC-nl4hj yesss the truth finally.
Ok all I peeped countess in after this show was the movie trippin' and some stage plays and Hollywood Divas much later she was on that show acting like she was better than Elise Neal Golden Brooks and everybody else I believe she caused some of the drama on moesha.
I was in love with Merlin Santana aka Stanley (from the Cosby show). I was so delusional, though I would marry that boy. His murder was so senseless. RIP.
It's wonderful that Sheryl Lee Ralph tried to stand up for the black family.
I knew countess wasn’t feeling it, especially towards the end of her time there. In season 4 there was one scene where either Hakeem, Niecy or Moesha roasted her and she looked HURT. Like genuinely pissed off. Roasting was very common on the show but it made me wonder if the dynamics between the characters on the show affected their relationships in real life.
Yeah. I could tell a mood/attitude change with her in 1997 - 1998 (season 3).
Sherelle stood up for the image of black men. It feels good to see that.
