I knew there was tension between Brandy and Countess Vaughn but Sheryl too 😱? It had to be hard working with mostly a child cast but she shoulda checked all of them and demand her respect! Ultimately she did the right thing because that show was titled just what it was. That Dreamgirls 1 💵 payout was cold. Just ticket sales alone were big and they consciously did that to those 3 women?

I met Brandy and her mom yrs ago when Brandy hosted 106th & Park. I was in a group home and they let us go backstage and take pictures for a newspaper article. Brandy was so nice and warm. I definitely agree with the point that Sheryl would’ve been at guiding Beyoncé bc the movie didn’t do deena character any favors I also felt the original cast/crew of dreamgirls wasn’t involved bc the movie wanted to capture the behind the scenes drama of the supremes than be a faithful adaption to the original Broadway musical

Imma say this; although they catered to Brandy (the star of the show); seems like the producers had a little more heart than the producers on Fresh Prince. At least Sheryl got to keep her job after the cast labeled her the wicked step mother; because once Will gave that label to Aunt Viv... We never saw her again 😔🤦🏾♀️

So glad to see her now FINALLY get the recognition she deserves for the decades of incredible work she’s done! Congrats on the Emmy win Queen! ❤️
Wow Smdh her character’s hair was always Slayed but it’s a shame knowing that Brandy was hating on her braids! Most Black women wear braids at least once a year preferably for a month or more and Brandi’s dumb ass really expected her to never wear braids and now I’m sitting here trying to think did she make all the girls not wear braids!, A natural black aesthetic one of the easiest ways to keep our hair done and protected so we don’t have to spend an hour doing it every fucking day!
For the disclaimer at the beginning, y’all better quit complaining about the VO giving the back story!! That’s one of the best things about this channel!!
This brought tears to my eyes. The entertainment industry has No chill...but to do the right thing, and be shunned for it is HARD on anyone. At work, and at home. Brandy seemed to have "beef" with a lot of people in the 90's: Thea, Aaliyah, Monica, and now Sheryl. The common denominator is Brandy.
Who's Thea?
Always! And even her brother’s friends/girlfriends
She was a big hater
I remember hearing she wasn’t really fond of Countess either
Don't forget Countess Vaughn
I love brandy but she was something else! That’s why Monica had to 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Right
Thea too
😬😬😬

Firstly i dont think your videos are long winded. It is providing a more in depth history and background to the subject matter so we can have a better understanding of their triumphs, trials and tribulations. Sheryl was one of my teenage crushes. She represented a fiercely strong nubian queen who exhibited tough love with a loving heart.
Some people complain about the backstories but, we're glad all of our besties love it 😘 Thanks for always watching!
@@rrg ❤
@@rrg Don’t stop the backstories. They explain SO much!!!!!! They ain’t ish but now we have a fleshed out reason why they ain’t.
I believe her. Brandy seemed spoiled as hell back in those days and sounds like she was immature too. But she grew up tho!
Wow! Literally watched this video yesterday, and Sheryl had never been invited to the Emmy's, but recieved her FIRST Emmy Nod, annnnd now she has WON her first Emmy!
Look at God. 😁👏🏾🙌🏾
This lady is a total inspiration to keep HOPE and FAITH alive.
If it wasn't for RRG I wouldn’t appreciate how huge this achievement is for Sheryl, so thanks for sharing her story.
I'm so happy for her I cried.
❤❤
@@rrg personally knowing her and being around her in Philadelphia. She always had a very nasty nasty rude attitude. Everything you see on TV is staged and they take many classes to learn to be fake. She is a very nasty person who will never genuinely speak or talk to you.
The creaters, producers, and studios were sabotaging the show on purpose.
Sheryl Lee Ralph is such a beautiful and talented woman. As a dark-skinned black actress, she influenced the standard of beauty in Hollywood. She added flava to the Moesha show, and was a positive role model as her proper talking, warm, intelligent mother.
Definitely agree! When she left, so did the realness of Moesha!
Sheryl Lee Ralph is absolutely gorgeous. I still watch Moesha but hated the direction things went in the end of the show. It’s sad to know that she went through so much during the filming but it’s never easy with some teens.
Congratulations on her nomination and continuous success ❤️
Thank you RRG
I like Brandy however, it can not be everyone else : Monica, Countess , Sheryl, and others who have worked with her in the past.
True! And I like her too
Gabrielle Union, Hosea Chanchez, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Eve, Naturi Naugton, Whitney, Whoopi, Diana Ross, Queen Latifah have also worked with Brandy and they ALL had/have only great things to say about working with her.
Monica wasn't the angel y'all desperately want her to be in their beef.
Countess has always been messy herself.
Sheryl has never beefed with Brandy. This is a new lie y'all pandering.
This idea of villainizing Brandy is so tired now. Pack it up.
🎯
Well that’s all Les because Fedro Starr confirmed Brandy could be messy
@@LieslJamesno one said Monica was but check the list out of people who Brandy didn’t get along with. It’s wayyy longer than those who complimented her. She’s a hater and a brat!
I actually had a tear in my eye watching this. You will always be a great actress and star in my eyes Sheryl. We have to be mindful how we treat others..xx
Aww thanks for watching ❤️
She seems like she has such a beautiful soul. I've always been a fan of hers. Im so glad the cast was able to rekindle their relationship. ❤❤
You did an incredible job narrating this… Wonderful to see her life come full circle!
She is such a beautiful woman and had it going on back in the day ! I'm glad Brandy, Beyonce and others made 'slight' amends with her about the past. I know she needed to to aid in her healing. Hollywood can be such a rough place...smh.
You’re not long winded. I love how you lay the foundation. Keep up the awesome work. 💛💛💛💛
As always a great video! Sheryl was always a classy woman. She always had a great onscreen presence. An informative video RRG.
She’s one of the original dream girls. She’s a triple threat, singer, dancer and actress. She’s no joke fam. She’s still one of the most gorgeous actress in Hollywood. Julia smile is pretty, but sherylee smile is unforgettable.
Just tuned in to the Emmy's and she won!!!! What a powerful moment!! Thank you for the video!!!
I loved her on Instant Mom. I feel like she has a very pure heart, even from her laughter. Bless her.
Thanks for sharing this story. Sheryl Lee Ralph has a lot to be thankful for through all the hardships. She had been around for a long time and she still looks great. There's ups and there's downs and I'm glad she was able to express some of the disappointments. I still consider her truly blessed for being able to follow some of the things that she wanted to do. Glad she was able to make amends with Brandy as well as others. She definitely left a mark in so many different ways and although she was going through a lot on Moesha she played her part well as a stepmother.
I am so glad to see Sheryl finally getting what's due. She's a beautiful and incredibly talented actress who gave others much more than she got in return. Well done, Mrs. Ralph. Take your bow. You earned it.
So glad Sheryl FINALLY received her Emmy for her role for supporting actress for the TV hit show, "Abbott Elementary ". She deserves all the best. So proud of her!!
I literally cried watching this. I’m so happy Sheryl is finally receiving her flowers for all of her hard work!
If she would have done that, then she would have gotten the Janet Hubert treatment lol
@@gsignaturemessage I forgot about that 🙇
Dreamgirl's payout was cold, never sign anything until you READ it.Had a major in the army try the samething with me,but,I read the paper-work and didn't sign it.Then told him I wasn't signing it ( because I knew my rights)and he got PISSED.TOO bad for him.
I’m sorry, but she cared too much about what they were doing behind their dressing room doors.
@@Ms.NoNo2 She did say that what they were doing behind closed doors held up production and it would cause them to work later than they would have if not for the behind closed doors antics. People had children and husbands/wives to get home to.
Don't be obtuse.
I’m starting to think that Brandy was bred to be a mean girl for real. No shade to Brandy but we ALL must face Karma when we grow up with nasty personalities. We have to go through those shadow moments to learn how to be better ppl with more compassion. Unfortunately, Brandy’s younger years just don’t sit well with me, but I believe she’s living in the light she needs to now. Who knows how many apologies she’s had to hand out just to get out of that karmic cycle
And the reason why I say “bred”…. I mean look at her mother. That woman is ruuude. I’ve seen her personality many times when she fights the women that Ray J brings into his life
@@agirlnamedkris6374 she may take after her mom. I remember when they had a reality show one episode they had a family dinner brandy mother said everybody gotta leave my house…the kids the dogs everybody. I remember thinking wow she is so mean.
We can all put blame on Sonja cuz Sonja was definitely on her fecal propping her no talent having son Ray J like that. But Brandy and Gabrielle Union don’t have to reach for their mean girl antics. That’s real life for them.
I met Brandy and her mom yrs ago when Brandy hosted 106th & Park. I was in a group home and they let us go backstage and take pictures for a newspaper article. Brandy was so nice and warm. Her mom was so mean and cold. No smile, no handshake no conversation. She looked at us with discuss while Brandy was trying so hard to engage with us as her mother rushed her along. I'm 34 now and whenever I see or hear about Brandy's mom I instantly remember the nasty look on her face.
It’s usually her mom’s mouth. Brandy is the star so she catches the flack.
I remember her talking about it in a episode of Life After on TVone. I had no idea that Frank Infidelity would result into the show denise. I loved Moesha. It was ahead of it's time. Thanks for the video
They did it so that they could add Ray J. And it was unfortunate because he really didn’t contribute much to the show
I can't fault William Allen Young for how the producers changed his character. He was only doing what he was paid to do.
@@josephclegg3562 agree. They didnt have to cancel the show.
I hated that storyline.
@@kevinpayton2664 Exactly as if we had soo many positive black men on TV. They just couldn’t leave him as a respectable man.
I Love Happy Endings ....Good Video😁🤣😂👍👍
Idk why this video brought me to tears. Ms. Sheryl deserves sooooooo much. All the flowers and more!! I pray she receives the Emmy on the 12th 🙏🏾
Sheryl Lee Ralph:talented actress and forever classy….she should’ve gotten more movie and tv roles…I don’t blame for leaving Moesha following the secrets and lies episode….the 5th and 6th season of Moesha was tough to watch after Andell and Dee left…Also RIP Lamont Bentley, Yvette Wilson, And Denise Dowse…
Also Dee was well respected but didn’t play no games on Moesha and as for Frank Mitchell, he was too full of himself and always got on Mo but let Dorian get away with stuff…smh…
So glad I watched this today. She's getting her flowers NOW! She's amazing.
Thanks for watching ❤️
She’s deserve ALL the good things coming her way, fingers crossed and praying you get that award you do deserve..🙏😊👍🏽
I’m so happy Mrs Sheryl is finally getting the recognition and flowers she well deserves 💐👏🏾
I hope she wins an Emmy next Monday night she deserves it.
Wow, so happy that she received somewhat closure on the Brandy/Dream Girls matter. I thought she had a ton of awards, she's a Legend and deserves to be honored.
I read that Will tried it with James Avery and he wasn’t having it. But the producers stood up for James and told Will to hush.
@@Aurora0510 Really!? Will was a trip 🤦🏾♀️

I just saw the reunion of Moesha and I saw some tension there,so glad you got your 🌺🌺 flowers queen,a long time coming

That's a beautiful ending! Who knew all that was going on behind the moesha scenes, totally believable! Glad things have come together for the good. I hope Sheryl wins! Well deserved and overdue. 💐
I’ve been in love with this woman since I was 3 years old and saw her on the cover of Ebony magazine with the cast of “Dreamgirls”! I’ve been obsessed with her and that musical ever since. I read her book so I was familiar with the behind the scenes “Moesha” drama but she has said since Brandy apologized to her and they’ve made peace.
Exactly! Like Brandy did now own braids. It ain't that special.
That was so petty..... I didn't know that about Brandy. 😒
bad mindedness
@@courtneypalmer53 it was the producers of the show y’all believe anything so quick🤐🤐🤦🏽♀️
I'm glad she stayed true to who she was, kids should know better about being respectful - but if they are allowed to, not to mention if they are responsible for your paycheck somehow - the will not only be allowed, but supported. When she got the apologies YEARS later - I know it's better late than never, I just hope it lifted some of the pain from the past she'd experienced. Beautiful Woman, Mother and Wife!
Sheryl's latest work on Motherland: Fort Salem (She's the freaking president of the US!) and Abbott Elementary are F'ING AWESOME. LOVE HER! So versatile!
I’m still tight about the way Moesha ended, miles kidnapping, the pregnancy, then Hakeem dying before they could resume… who members the episode when Mo and Niecy took drugs????😂😂😂😂😂😂 I member that episode like it was yesterday🤣😂😂🤣😂
I hated when she left to work in Jamaica and them making Dorian the secret son didn’t even go with the dad’s character I was so disappointed so unnecessary
They couldn’t let a image of a good black father be great and not for the stereotype
@Happy Thoughts I couldn’t stand him on the show. His character was pointless and annoying.
I heard that if there had been a 7th season of Moesha that the Myles character would have been written out which wouldn't have made sense to me. Why would they write out Myles? He was part of the family.
@@nicoledavis6344 He's been a fake gangsta from day 1.lol He's a mommas boy with 2mamas =Brandy and their mom.lol Kim Kartrashian and her gang are more hood. 🤣

I always felt she was so beautiful ,and classy. She also seems to be alot of fun! I believe she is highly underrated. She also ages beautifully. ⚘ Her skin color is so pretty. I always feel self love radiating from her. ☀️
I have loved her since she was Barbara in A Piece of the Action. I saw her one day in Macy's and told her what that role meant to me. Then I acted out one of her scenes. She probably thought I was crazy, but she was very nice and gracious. I hope she wins the Emmy, but either way, she is a winner 🏆 to me.

So proud of her strength, courage and wisdom. That part when this said she "did it the right way then and they are noticing it now" had me teary eyed.
It took a lot but she's a woman with standards and stood true to her craft and it took MASSIVE sacrifice by the sounds of it.

I've watched her since A Piece Of The Action. She's come a long way and congrats to her for the Emmy nomination. I love the show Abbott Elementary.
Sheryl is a very articulate, beautiful woman who's not afraid to express how she feels. A long and amazing career she has had and may she continue that career as long as she wants.
She is finally getting her flowers and I love it!
Sheryl Lee Ralph never got the respect she deserved. The magnitude and class that she has seemed to be overlooked and not appreciated. The direction the show was heading in the last seasons was less than satisfactory. Sheryl left with her dignity and integrity that none of the cast members or crew could take away from her.
Sheryl is so beautiful and such a class act ❤ May she continue to get her flowers while she’s still here to grace us with her presence!
Mrs. Ralph you are beautiful and very talented. I love you and respect your work. Thank you so much.
It's crazy because I have been straight binge watching Moesha. The first 3 seasons are hilarious. I didnt realize how much shit Moesha was constantly getting into. The actor who played Frank was incredible. Dee as well.
