Those grey cold skies... Nostalgia hits hard
I remember when PJ did this on the radio i recorded the whole show it was great and also great to hear other bands play its great to hear this again thx for bring back mem for me a huge fan from NJ
I loved how it sounded when he was outside the house so sick
Imagine being as cool as Mudhoney's drummer, Danny Peters, just relaxing on the sofa with a cup of coffee.
a shiver runs down my spine
Valentina Spina shivers always run down my spine watching PJ! Lol
I miss 90`s...
Ive been looking for the Self Pollution Radio videos from the past 15 years now. I just wish that they release the whole serie... Just imagine... Soundgarden, Mad Season, and others... What a gift...
If I were to walk by that house while this was happening I would have thought...Oh, cool some dudes are covering a pearl jam song...haha.
MrKablesp lol me too. Best comment ever lmao
I would say oh cool it’s the Pearl Jam house considering it was in Seattle and they were based there. Duh.
@@johntsunami9368 Really? I thought they were from Japan. I guess knowing which house is the Pearl Jam house is common knowledge
@@MrKablesp Well I doubt another Seattle band would be doing a cover of an existing Seattle band and sound exactly as Pearl Jam sounded in 1995. Common knowledge or common sense.
@@johntsunami9368 I think you just totally missed the meaning of the initial comment…enjoy the video have fun pal 🤘
Been looking for this particular version for years now...107.1 Channel Z in Cincinnati used to have this version in heavy rotation in early 1995 and knew it wasn't the album version. Looked for it and looked for it on boots way back then to no avail. Here 'tis. Talk about a long fucking wait!
i hope for the good of all man that this video doesn't get taken down!
Dan Peters of Mudhoney sitting on the couch
They had a lot of bands in there. Mudhoney, fastbacks n many more. Was a good thing, wish they kept doing this
The chance to hear 2 songs from Grohls foo fighters demo was a unexpected surprise.
I remember listening to this way back then...Jebus I'm old.
I miss Seattle living here in So. Cali now chasing the next wave but my heart will forever be in seattle grey rainy skys and all 🏄 😁 😊 👍 ❤️. P.S - I will always be a PJ diehard fan🥴😁👍
Same here brother. There will never be another decade like the 90s in Seattle. Best ever
Jackie didn't play on "Fire". But, for those who doubt his skill set, I would actually guide them toward Eleven's 1993 self-titled release, if not Mirrorball with uncle Neil. He absolutely kills on both.
Amazing recording...gorgeous
Amazing video!!! I love it
McCready got more screen time in this one than he did in this room with Mad Season.
First time I heard the self pollution stuff, it was an eye opener. I don't understand how music became what it is now....
I have it on repeat on and on..the beginning is craazy
Yes, I still remember that broadcast like it was last night. Laurelhurst Beach Club came after their take on ''Stranglehold", which could clearly be heard in the background whilst EV was rambling on about something or other before he headed down for PJ's second set.
“He could have tuned in tuned in but he tuned out” after crappy childhood I could have tuned out tuned out but I tuned in when “Given to fly” was released !!! Song for Someone !!!
He did play on the mothers milk release of fire as it was recorded in the uplift sessions. but yes i agree pretty much everything he plays on is pretty phenomenol. good drummer indeed
little did they when they made this what they would become
Jack irons playing drums!!!. Hell yeah!!!
Awesome!!!thank you for uploading this!!!!
This is great, thanks!
Jack Irons, ladies and gentlemen
I always loved drummer playing here so simple and "dry".
In 2011 Jeff is the only one who still looks the same. He never ages!
And, thank God for that!!!
Some one, knew where there's the full show??? I saw on the youtube once, but never see it again!!!
Stone Gossard is a handsome man
Oh God and baby Jesus, that was rad.
I wonder if D Abbruzzese has ever seen this..and think...what tha hell is that guy doing with my drumming??! big time lack of power on this one Jack
When did Ross Gellar played guitar for Pearl Jam? And is that Dan Peters behind Eddie?
Where I can buy this album, please I need
i'm embarassed to say this but i had no idea these videos existed until today and i've been a fan for 20 years. i guess i'm just not as fanatical as i once was. i had the bootleg cd's when they came out and i even taped it off the radio but never even thought they filmed it, much less released them. crazy internet stuff. headed over to the torrent site to DL now.
@JubeProductions - same here...don't feel bad..
I'd settle for a vinyl-only issue of PJ's full set.
Awesome performance! Though I bet the neighbors were pissed, lol.
is jack irons in drums?
nacho gomez yes
this sounded way way better with Dave abbruzzese
It was eddie's house, right?
@@ughhh4790 i thought this was Cornell's house?
easily Abbruzzese...way different than Cameron, but being 17 when TEN came out, and never wavering from P.J...i say, as long as Ed, Mike, Stone and Jeff r there...
No, Grohl wasn't there that night. But, Novoselic was, remember? He was part of the broadcast. EV and him talked in-studio and on-air. Might be him if you look closely enough.
@TheShitfobrains irons is no abbruzzese
Why Stone is so shy and uncertain
Anyone know the location, street, or address of the house?
1941 Aurora Ave N, Seattle. Just north of the former Aloha Inn, currently a homeless shelter.
@@okmarty My man, thanks!
❤
Sorry, but, "Fire" was actually recorded for Freaky Styley. That's Cliff on the drums.
Wow - Jeff is a quick-change artist. Brown T with hat one minute, white T with no hat, and then back to brown T and hat! Who knew ;-) By the way, Ed’s vocals are awesome on that track (1:37+).
not one to argue over the internet you know not trying to make a big deal but im looking at the sleeve book in my mothers milk cd and it clearly says "drums on fire: Jack Irons" so i dont know. i think thats evidence enough haha anyones man keep listening to the good tunes
some band call pearl jam...
Huge difference how pearl jam sounds with Jack Irons or Dave Abbruzzes on drums than how the band sounds with Matt Cameron drumming . Matt is a great drummer , but his drumming was never right for this band. Hope he stays with soundgarden for a long while .
Stone's serial killer grin from 1.27
@spameister couldnt agree more i wish they could get him back, cameron is an ok drummer his shit with soundgarden is great, but i hate the way he plays the older pearl jam which in my opinion is the better than the new stuff i really hate that fixer song
The waiting drove me mad
You're finally here and I'm a mess
I take your entrance back
Can't let you roam inside my head
I don't want to take what you can give
I would rather starve than eat your bread
I would rather run but I can't walk
Guess I'll lay alone just like before
I'll take the varmint's path
Oh, and I must refuse your test
A-push me and I will resist
This behavior's not unique
I don't want to hear from those who know
They can buy but can't put on my clothes
I don't want to limp for them to walk
Never would have known of me before
I don't want to be held in your debt
I'll pay it off in blood let I be wed
I'm already cut up and half dead
I'll end up alone like I began
Everything has chains, absolutely nothing's changed
Take my hand, not my picture, spilled my tincture
I don't want to take what you can give
I would rather starve than eat your breast
All the things that others want for me
Can't buy what I want because it's free
Can't buy what I want because it's free
Can't be what you want because I
Why ain't it supposed to be just fun?
Oh, to live and die, let it be done
I figure I'll be damned
All alone like I began
I couldnt agree with you more. Cameron is an amazing drummer but totally wrong for the pearl jam sound. I love the Abbruzzese/Irons drumming periods. To me their drumming is the classic pearl jam sound. Cameron is too much technique and just isnt powerful enough. Saw him with Soundgarden recently and he obviously sounded better with them.
man everyones raggin on jack irons. have you guys never heard of the red hot chili peppers? check out his playing on the uplift mofo party plan and the chilis cover of fire
@TheShitfobrains agreed, cameron is technically sick but he does too much and it just doesn't work...I always think abbrezzuese and grohl are the best drummers of this generation/genre
drumming on this live performance sounded stupid
Because Jack Irons do not played the Vitalogy's drums.
I'm confused isn't that what they sound like? Guess it don't like them
Jack irons seems real stiff on the drums, though he did just join the band right before this and he didnt play on vitalogy, he needs to lossen up some
