I can remember being seriously disappointed after hearing it the day it came out, most likely because I was secretly wanting another record like Ten. 30 years later this album feels like its right up there with Faith no Mores Angel Dust. I think you nailed it with "Masterpiece".
Watch this compared to the live of them playing it with DA. No comparison. They had a Dave Grohl and dropped him because Eddie got pissed he bought a BB gun ...
Franz Farmer i agree, im always very sceptical wen a drummer is replaced in a band, it can determine there future as a career, but cause im familar with irons work from being in chili peppers, i had every once of faith in him
@@markmclawhorn9592 Vs, Vitalogy, No Code? 1993-96, was the absolute PEAK of Pearl Jam. Yes, Ten is great too. But it was "Vs" on day it dropped October 1993, is the day Pjam became my fab band. They were #2 up till that day. Then "Vitalogy?" Their masterpiece. One best tp5 albums of 1990s. (Which basically means all-time.) PearL jAm first 4 albums were all 4-5 star albums. WERE all great but unique thing is they all had completely different vibes, sounded different fr each other IMO....
Wow this is a hidden gem, can't believe it only has 1,000 views. Thanks for sharing!
god what it would've been like to have been one of the few people in that room.
I remember listening to the radio broadcast in Philly and recording it on a TAPE....that's how long ago it was. lol
simply incredible
17yrs old, January 1995.
Listened this entire broadcast in my basement bedroom, Sr yr..
Listening on 105.9 The Lazer out Lawrence, Ks.
Miss the 90's! Loved it ❤️😻
Damn, they look like they were having so much fun there
"Vitalogy" is a masterpiece.

This is called Grunge bro...
Eddie mixing the lyrics up, love it
I have this recorded off the radio. Great rare gem
I wore this album out. 1995 I was 15yrs old and driving my parents crazy. They could sing most of the songs on the album too 😂😂😂
excelente, grunge not dead
Grunge was a fashion scene.
Grunge Is dead now

Dave A. was the best...
On Pearl Jam's 2 by far best albums
Both masterpieces. Vs & Vitalogy
That’s Jack Irons on drums
@@jimclawley9117 No shit
@@jimclawley9117 My point exactly.

His voice is similar to Grace Slick's.
♥♥♥♥♥♥
what is Stone singing in the last chorus?
I think he's just singing or mumbling along with Eddie outside the range of the microphone.
Are they inside an apartment or house ?
Eddies house

Shame Vedder does the third verse twice
Joe Whitley he’s pretty drunk here, no shame, just a good time
What I was saying, completely mixed the lyrics up Haha
irons always mercilessly butchered the Krusen/Abbruzzese catalogue
Franz Farmer i agree, im always very sceptical wen a drummer is replaced in a band, it can determine there future as a career, but cause im familar with irons work from being in chili peppers, i had every once of faith in him
I much preferred Irons. Something a little more organic to his style.
Irons’ performance in the self-pollution broadcasts is my favorite pj phase
@@horseytown agreed, irons is great
