It’s so surreal. My mind recalls every single fucking note from this entire show, as it’s probably the one show I’ve heard more than all others. And to see actual footage, it’s fucking crazy, just crazy.
SO true. I recorded this off the radio, on *cassette* and played the shit out of it. Got the boot on CD when that time came. I love this show. First time I ever heard them do this, and still my favorite version. And, like you, never saw video footage until right now.
Taped off wmmr in philly. Wore out the tapes. Got the incomplete cd set. Then found the full gig on the internet thankfully. Two of three cassette tapes still kind of work if I want to hear the creepy intermissions though.
Me too!!!! Playing this song for my wife after talking about driving songs from our youth. Pretty sure this one scored me a couple of speeding tickets.
FRIGGIN SAME! I remember sitting in my parents back-room where they kept the stereo tape recorder and listening to the entire broadcast on X103 in Indy. I still have the pink and fluorescent yellow Maxwell tape it is recorded on.
Hells yeah man! I bought a bootleg cd version of this in Greenwich Village, NYC in 94 as well. I was hunting down this show for about two months lol....I play this multiple times a year and listen to the cassettes I taped from the radio on it's anniversary! There was an audio-only video here on YT of that complete radio broadcast but it got removed.
incredible footage. listened to this show live on the radio easter sunday nite ‘94 in nyc. and countless times on bootleg since. cant believe pj is sitting on the video of this show in their vault. RELEASE it !!!!!!!
This is the one show I’ve always wanted to see the video footage especially on Porch... which would have been next dammmmmit This has always been my favorite show & what made me truly fall in love with PJ. The energy + Mike & Stone in sync so well. I’ve been chasing the dragon ever since #36 🤘
I read that during Porch Eddie climbed up to the scaffolding/rigging over the stage and dropped a dummy onto the stage wearing same clothes. He said only one person or so in the audience showed any sign of concern.
Would you just please listen to the engine that is driving that song. Dave A. was the driving force. I'm sorry but this lineup is the best lineup they ever had. Matt Cameron is one of the best drummers in the world but his sound and flavor were a perfect fit for Soundgarden. Drummers are probably the hardest to replace in a band. There's so much feel in percussion. Led Zeppelin, Rush, Toto, The Who etc. and unfortunately now the Foo fighters would never be the same. Jack Irons albums sound nothing like the previous two for a reason and those following with Cameron are the same. It's tough because Matt is such a legend and an amazing player. His personality probably fits perfect because of his Seattle background but the puzzle piece just doesn't fit in my opinion. Dave was at the helm for the pinnacle of this band and I believe he had a lot to do with it. He'd be fired a couple weeks later. And look, I get it, lots of personalities in a band and the better you get along the more productive it may be. But look at all the greats, Stones, Beatles, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Ramones, etc. I could go on and on. A lot is scarified on stage when you're best friends off it. Sometimes the rough waves make for great surfing. Same analogy with sports. 78 Yanks are the perfect example. Just my two cents.
I never thought I'd see footage from this show. I must have listened to it hundreds of times. The version of Release from this show surpasses the studio recording in my opinion. Oh, and WMA played how it was meant to be played. PJ at their absolute best. @ Malisho Valenzuela, where did you get this from?????
Hi everyone. The official bootleg of this show is being released by the band finally. I assume this video of the historical 4/3/94 show. Go to their website to buy it. If anyone has nugs you can already listen to it on there.
@@TheNBSPerry well it’s been out since the next day the show was played in 1994. Lol. But the difference is that Brendan O Brien officially remastered/mixed the recording.
I would like Pearl Jam so much more if they let McCready out of his cage more often. See Mad Season's "November Hotel" for what o mean (and Layne Stayley plays rhythm guitar on it too)
Lol...I thought the same after I saw the soundcheck video with Doug from King's X. I've been waiting 26 years for ONE song from this concert to appear on video. This is the definitive live version of this song! I still have this concert on cassette when I taped it live on WNEW in NYC. I really, really, really want to see this concert!
The entire show was recorded. They were playing at PJ20 in the PJ "museum". They wouldn't let audio/video equipment in to keep people from recording it. The band/management has the video in its entirety. I hope they release it someday. Best show ever imo.
Is this the fox theatre show where Eddie climbed up to the lighting rig and threw off a dummy of himself? I remember him saying it was at the fox theatre on pj20
Spitting happens live. I personally have had my drum kit covered in spit after shows. There is another live PJ show where Dave and Jeff get into a full on spit war, thought it was funny actually. It is just what they did.
I like how stone gets spat on by dave, and sorta enjoys it. I can't imagine stone enjoyed being spat on anymore, even by a better drummer in matt, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.
Dave A. was THE BEST drummer PJ had. The only one with the heart and the soul of the band. Cameron is one hell of a good drummer but he just doesnt fit the band! I know there´s this band´s whole push that "they have the best drummer" and ll that. Ok, part of the deal to bring him in but let´s be serious: Dave Abbruzzeze is the heart of the band. After the trilogy(first 3 albums) I cant find the PJ energy anymore! Irons also killed during his short time on the band way more than Cameron!

Damn right! Taped it off the radio too and listened it to death!
Right?! I’m another one in the “taped me first bootleg off the radio” camp… amazing show

Dead boys cover. Not bad rendition really
Dave spitting at Stone 00:33 , foreshadowing his firing, lol. Musically the Best Drummer they ever had. ✌🏻&❤
It was a punk rock spit (gob) in honor of the song.
great Dead Boys cover
Dave Abbruzzese the heart sound of Pearl Jam 💫🎉God damn with him they were a force to be reckoned with
please...
agree 100%
I had this whole show recorded on cassette from the FM broadcast at 13 years old. Oh man... take me back.

That one concert is peak Pearl Jam for me.
Me too 😊😊😊
Totally awesome and a clear view of Dave A. Yeaaa!!!!
Hands down, best fan shot video from this era
Been rockin this gig since I scored a bootleg in 94
Love this show!!

Dave A and Stone are Killin it. This whole band peaked at Vs. and Vitalogy
I would’ve loved to have been 18-20yrs old in the early 90s, but I was born 7 years after this show …
The best time they ever played it.
Please upload more footage from this legendary show! Please!
You're not thee Jules Holland, are you?
Thank you to whoever captured this and thanks for the share!🔥🤘💓
This is absolutely freaking awesome !!
My Song.
I was there! 99x broadcasted live all over the country! F'n awesome! Wish I could see the whole show again.
Seeing this is a great Xmas gift..wow..I've had this bootleg for ages..I dream a video will surface from my 1st show in 96..Merriweather Post
My first show too!

Dave was the hardest hitting. So good!
I went both nights! One of the biggest shows to hit ATL in the 90s
So so lucky!!
Their having such a great time!!! Everyone smiling 😊 I LOVE PEARL JAM FOREVER ♾️ all stages of their amazing careers!! ❤️🤘✌️🔥

He’s literally dragging the tempo down.
Actually, Dave wasn't fired until August 1994. About 4 months later.
I completely agree
What exactly are you trying to say?.
Just kidding. AGREED.

Pinkpop 92 foi o maximo

I remember....1978, The Dead Boys....NYC Punk..

Please .....

Is the reason the don't release this whole show because Dave A was the drummer at the time? WTF are they sitting on this for???? Killing me.
Great cover. That's all.
Ahh, Dead Boys were the best.
Was this in St. Louis, 93, with Pumpkins, and Chili Peppers??
No way.....

Homage to the Dead Boys!
Leave it to pearl jam to suck all the energy out of this song.
Jk it sounds alright
Oy vey!
They somehow sucked all the energy out of this song.
I'm actually less pumped than I was a minute and a half ago
