I've been a fan of Layne's since my older brother first introduced a then 12 year me to AIC back in like 1995 and I still find myself now at 39 still in complete awe of his talents as a singer. He really was absolutely like no one else. He elevated every piece of music he sang on to such a way higher level. I'll still find myself listening to a random AIC or Mad Season song I've heard like 300 times before and still be like surprised at how absurdly fucking good he sounds, like it's somehow new to me. Like I want to run outside and grab a stranger and be like "have you heard Layne Stanley sing 'God Am' by Alice in Chains before!?".
Yea, it's funny because music was always a part of religion, which is why they built the cathedrals -- for the sound of the music, and the impact. It ain't like that, anymore. But the response that people feel in listening to Layne is that same feeling. It elevates our human experience in a universal way that so many can relate to. I wish everyone would listen to Layne! His voice could pierce someone with a heart of stone and bring them back to life, lol. His voice, and the spirit he injects into his vocals, is unmatched.

Layne you are so fucking missed. this video almost made me cry man...
Agreed 🤘
Same here man. I am an ex H user, (I used, to suppress childhood trauma). People use for various reasons, but usually to hide some pain or other.
I too, have only just started listening to the older Layne stuff. This appeared because of that.
So grateful I saw this now.
Brought a lump to my throat.
All the talent, that has been lost to heroin, upsets me.
Hope youre well, my friend.
He was a lovely man, funny and sweet, his voice one of the greatest of all times 💔

Fingerless gloves were a real sign the battle was being lost. Alice in chains were my 2nd big musical obsession.
Hi Mat! What were the fingerless gloves the sign of? I'm really curious about your reply. TIA

Heard the riff on the Super Bowl that’s awesome!
I almost cried listening to this :')
Layne had some cool guitars.
Shiiiish, that just blew my head off, so happy to discover new Layne songs
I love that moment on this shot when Layne smiles on Mike when he just finished the solo ❤
Wow, I didn’t know there was video footage of this! Great to see them in such an intimate setting. Layne seemed to really enjoy playing guitar. Nice to see him happy. That smile at 2:51!!
Yes! I thought the same
Graham Morris true, as dark as some of those lyrics were, it seemed like there was level of freedom with his creativity there

I legit just went back to 2:51 to see it. ❤️
As soon as I read your comment I looked up and that was the second the video was on. Warms my soul ☕️
These guys killed it! Drummer is smokin, hell they all rock!
Laynes voice is the golden thread that holds it all together. My muse
Epic performance, as always.
90s rock is full of legends. 🙏
Wooooooooooooooooooow this is so amazing sad and beautiful at the same time
I remember listening to this when it was broadcast live on radio. Instantly loved this song. I sure do miss those days.
Layne was looking pretty good here, all things considered. And that man bun? Pretty snazzy. One of my favorite songs on the album ❤️
He always had great hair and could pull off looks other people couldn’t.
Always and forever Mad Season in my top 3 albums ever. Cant get enough💜 love to all
I've been a fan of Layne's since my older brother first introduced a then 12 year me to AIC back in like 1995 and I still find myself now at 39 still in complete awe of his talents as a singer.
