- REVISED VIDEO - missing section added 🥰
You are definitely going to be addicted to making these bags. I will be making more!
I used my Addi 46 needle machine and Bernat Handicrafter yarn in 100% cotton.
You will also need a 4mm and a 5.5 mm crochet hook.
Happy Knitting my friends,
Shelley

Great project! I’m pretty intimidated by the crochet, but really want these for grocery shopping, so I will try to follow step by step …
@@DrofJustice you can do it! Please post it in my group when you are finished. I’d love to see it.
Esta hermosa e útil bolsa !!!
Gracias, por tu sabiduría compartida.
This is the coolest thing I've seen on the addi! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!!😊
Oh my… that pulling part is like magic! What a great design!
I absolutely love it, I have several multi-color pretty cotton yarn to work with. I will make some for my aunt and I. Thank you Ms Wiebe for sharing this pattern 👏🏾👏🏾
You are so welcome! ❤️
Love this! I crochet large bags (that I get compliments on every time I go to the store) and I also made smaller produce bags but they are fiddly to work. This is fantastic and faster... way faster than my produce bags. Actually, some lady at the store asked me where I got those bags because she wanted to use them too... I told her I made them and the store didn't provide them. This is a GREAT little item to sell at bazaars.
Thank you for your encouragement! So glad you like them!🥰
Hi Shelley...NOW it makes sense...just adding that missing section of the tutorial makes such a difference to understanding how it gets from point A to point B...thanks for fixing it up...have a good week..love from down under...
I can’t tell you how grateful I am that you told me.
I watch and rewatch before I post but somehow didn’t catch that.
I appreciate that you told me. 🥰
@Koala Knits and Knacks - Addi Knitting And Crochet you're very welcome Shelley.
I have found that lightly running cotton yarn over a candle edge while making a ball makes it go through the Addi much more smoothly. Also, have never been able to just put novelty yarns on the machine without using a waster yarn, first. These are great!
Great tip!🥰 Thank you !
I love how you crocheted the top and added drawstrings! I might borrow this idea for some of my hand knitted bags.
Thank you! Glad I could help 😊
I'm using the Lion Brand Renound yarn
100% nylon
3.5oz
Color is Trampoline

I love your market bag. I loved string bags to take to the beach as well as the farmers market.
I am binge watching RUclips today and the video I watched *just * before I clicked on this was on taking your machine apart and cleaning it. I’ve watched several because I am curious as to how these things work. I recommend the cleaning video by Alt Knot. It is the clearest one and the most detailed that I found. And since you are very clear and detailed, I think that would be a really good match.
It was on a Sentro machine but I suspect they’re very much like on the inside except for the Prym. She did say she was going to be doing one on the Addi as well. But I didn’t check to see if she had because… Well, I’m binge watching and didn’t want to get distracted! 😂
That’s an awesome idea to use this as a beach bag. Do you mind if I add that to my title ?
I will watch the cleaning video you suggested! Thanks a lot!
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet Of course not! The sand fell away as the toys dried on the long trek back to the car!
I gave you a shout out in the title! ❤❤
I did a shout out to you in the crochet bag I just posted. Around the 26 minute mark. 🥰
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet Totally unnecessary, but I’m flattered. Note I HAVE TO get one. (Fixed income so hobbies come after housing, food and heat. And prices on the last two have skyrocketed!🚀). But I think I would get a lot out of it and maybe craft with my granddaughters when I visit.
This pattern is so pretty! Do you reckon I could make panels of this mesh for a meshtop or would the stitching unravel?
You can definitely make panels. Check out my channel. I made a shawl with drop stitch panels and a bathing suit cover up.
I think I could use it as a gift bag and have it as a double gift
Absolutely! 😊
❤😊
Wow! What a lovely shopping bag! I would use it for other things as well, not just vegetables. Perhaps I would prefer the opening a bit wider but then there would be the problem of super long cords! How much yarn would I need for one of these? I want to buy the yarn as soon as I can to make a few of these lovely bags. As you say, better than plastic stuff.
Edited to add that as soon as I posted this I remembered I have cones of cotton yarn which I used to weave tea towels (I'm not sure what you call them in US, I'm in UK, they are for drying dishes) and they would be perfect for these bags. Cotton is expensive here so it would be good to use up the many nearly empty cones I have.
You will have to check the video. I am pretty sure I mentioned it but if not I think you just need one small ball of cotton. I’m not in my home country right now so I can’t check but I think it an 85 g ball.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet Thanks Shelley. I did edit my message later to say I have lots of cotton I forgot about so no excuse now!
Please post your finished bag in my FB group so I can see it. 🥰
I use different coloured waste yarn for top & bottom so it's easy to tell apart.
Great little tip! 😊
At 18:22 did you fail to skip a stitch? I just have to know if that’s what I’m seeing or if I’m crazy.
@@mikrellim8119 I just went and watched and yes….Yes, I did! Man, I totally overlooked that!
My addi would not do cotton at all,, tucking so bad and my cogs making noise and i had no tension, i just kept the cotton from sagging
That’s too bad. Mine has no trouble if I go slowly.
I find if you take your time and push down the stitches as you go like Shelley was doing it works
Can you use acrylic yarn for this?
Absolutely
