If you do 1 row of different colour waste yarn after the main waste yarn, using a contrast to main project yarn, it will make the waste yarn removing process much easier. Take finished project off machine, fold tube in half with tails on one side. On the opposite side to the tails pull a loop of the 1 row waste yarn out until you have a finger width or so. Pull on the side of the loop that leads to the shortest tail of the 1 row waste yarn. Keep pulling until that side of the row is free of the 1 row. Now pull the other tail end of the 1 row waste so the one row is removed. Now the main waste yarn falls away with maybe a little tug.
