This is cool because it also creates space to put in a cable pretty easily in the middle of a panel.

    It is a great idea.
I did 210 rows making a tube sock. It was tedius at first but then I got in a rhythm. 😂
Also, I started the rows at the bottom and then put in a bobby pin (American) when I went up 10 rows. That way I was doing a section at a time instead of crocheting a 210 loop row and starting at the bottom again.

I got around to doing this for my Addi king and I tweaked the height of the cardboard because i noticed that it was hitting this bump on the Addi that was causing it to fall off a bit. It worked great for me, I got 8 extra columns out of it using a weight 4 yarn when i tested it out. I'm definitely making more and im gonna play around with the lengths to see how specific to the amount of columns i can get.

Yarn "take up" around 6 needles necessitates the measurement of 8 needles. Alternatively, calculate the amount of yarn take up per single needle, then multiply. Or determine a simple ratio of take-up per needle reflecting each gauge of yarns you commonly use. Fun!

My mind is trying to think of ways to decrease at the top without transferring to knitting needles. It might be possible by switching to shorter cardboard pieces and then to even shorter pieces, but would need to remember to make decreases with the crochet hook on the correct rounds. Maybe I’m overthinking this. I’ll definitely have to give this some thought.

Its very clever, but I think its quicker to knit by hand than do all that

Agree to disagree 😉 but it’s not all about speed for me. I like finding new ways to push the machine past its limits. Plus a lot of my subscribers are not able to knit with their hands anymore and I like giving them options.

Not really, as this does 90% of the knitting for you. It only takes a few hours to work the rest of the stitches. Instead of days or even months to knit something from start to finish by hand.

Captions are available. As far as I know RUclips should translate them into any language for you but I have manually added a Romanian option.

I'm 8:05 sorry, but it would be easier to just knit the item regularly using knitting needles. This is way too complicated and time-consuming. The whole point of my knitting machine is to have it be fast and easy.

It’s all relative I guess. Lots of my viewers don’t know how to knit by hand. Also like me are not able to afford flat bed machines and want to get the most out of their sentro machine. If you can knit faster by hand and speed is important to you then you do you 😊

If you’re anything like me, hand knitting takes forever and this method takes less time even though it looks convoluted. It takes me at least a week to hand knit a hat but less than an hour on one of these, even if I used a method like this one where I have to use a hook to make stitches. Also, Emily brought up a good point in her comment that many of us cannot afford a flatbed machine since they can easily cost upwards of $1k whereas a circular machine like this one costs less than $100. All this to say, while this seems overly complicated, you’ll find that it actually takes a lot less time than knitting by hand.

Not any more complicated than knitting back up after dropping a stitch.
