It is a great idea. I did 210 rows making a tube sock. It was tedius at first but then I got in a rhythm. 😂 Also, I started the rows at the bottom and then put in a bobby pin (American) when I went up 10 rows. That way I was doing a section at a time instead of crocheting a 210 loop row and starting at the bottom again.
So just to summarise: 8 needles measure 15 cm on your Sentro. So need a card of 7.5cm each side. I have a Prym so might be different for my machine. I have no idea how you came apon this idea but it's brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
BRILLIANT! Cant wait to get home and try this ! I have pieces of a sweater but its been sitting forever because i hate the big noticeable seams. Ill happily frog it now and try this method ! Thanks for sharing this !
So simple but so very clever! I know how to weave double width which is a boon when you have a narrow loom but I would never have thought of this method with knitting! I haven't received my machine yet but I was wondering whether I would feel restricted with only 46 stitches. Now I won't need to worry!!
I got around to doing this for my Addi king and I tweaked the height of the cardboard because i noticed that it was hitting this bump on the Addi that was causing it to fall off a bit. It worked great for me, I got 8 extra columns out of it using a weight 4 yarn when i tested it out. I'm definitely making more and im gonna play around with the lengths to see how specific to the amount of columns i can get.
Yarn "take up" around 6 needles necessitates the measurement of 8 needles. Alternatively, calculate the amount of yarn take up per single needle, then multiply. Or determine a simple ratio of take-up per needle reflecting each gauge of yarns you commonly use. Fun!
thank you for sharing your experience with us .. but i read in a comment that we can join panels directly on sentro by adding the very side stitch with each new row of new panel.. is it possible ?

@@emilysmith2784 I was thinking of trying it in the round to keep hats from looking so stretched out around the brim, but then there would be that much more bulk at the top when it is cinched closed. My mind is trying to think of ways to decrease at the top without transferring to knitting needles.
