I love watching people showing how small pack they can do art with but when I pack my own "small" case, I always end up with a size of a backpack. Because... you know... comfort comes first. 😂
If you believe anyone is painting using micro and/ or mini palettes you're gullible. Hence why they never show themselves taking this crap out in the field. Yes it's cute but it isn't functional by any stretch of the imagination.
@@phillipstroll7385 I disagree. I follow several artists on RUclips using the micro Portable Painter with the primary colors. If you only paint in a sketchbook, 6 half pans can hold enough paint for plein air painting. I have a small bag, just big enough for my A6 sketchbook, one small mint box with 6 half pans with the primaries, a mechanical pencil, a small eraser, one fineliner and a round waterbrush. I always have this small pack in my shoulder bag. Works just fine for sketching. When I travel somewhere for longer than a day, then I bring a backpack with more supplies and bigger sketchbooks. 😉
@@phillipstroll7385 I am in a doctor's waiting room every week so tbh, I'm the type of person to use small travel palettes as, I'm not going to use something big and bulky when there's tons of people nearby me.
@@phillipstroll7385 While I couldn't do with just the pocket palette I have been using my folio palette as my core palette for a little while. I don't like the mini square pans but the stardard rectangle ones are great & if my main brushes were as small as hers I probably wouldn't mind the smallest pans. If you are only doing small paintings (a5 or smaller, I am doing ATC size) it is more than enough space, & if you are mixing paint on the paper itself you can easily go bigger. I love my 18 well mijelo palette but 70% of the time I use maybe 50% of the mixing space (on 1/4 sheet paintings)
It's pronounced kaveco. It's a German company. In Germany w's make the v sound. Hence why Wagner is pronounced as vagner. . Just thought you'd like to know.
I love your mini setup! I've yet to make a decision on my first pen (aside from childhood calligraphy & current dip pens), but a friend sent me several to play with and they arrive tomorrow. Super excited to baby step into things I've learned from your channel :) Do you have any tips for storing fountain pens with perm ink in a travel setup? If I might not use the pen again for two months, I imagine it would need to be cleaned out before storing. Or do threaded caps of good quality seal the pen tightly enough to prevent ink from drying out or compromising the innards? For some reason I have in mind that a pen should be cleaned out if there is a chance I won't use it again within a week. Thanks for sharing any thoughts!
I would say you can leave your pens with permanent ink for a little while, but if it will be about two months or so, just to err on the side of caution until you learn more about your pens and inks, I would clean them out. With good quality permanent ink like de atramentis, the only harm will be that the inks might dry out, which makes the ink harder to clean out of your pens. How quickly they dry out will also depend on the fountain pen--some caps seal better than others. But it really varies so it's hard to generalize. For example, I've had some permanent ink for months in a TWSBI Eco with no drying issues, but my Pilot Kokunos seem to dry out fairly fast if I ignore them for a while.
Not quite as small as this, but I have made a good setup in a Nock Sinclair pen case. It holds my Pilot Falcon, mechanical pencil, waterbrush, Art Toolkit palette, and small Stillman and Birn sketchbook. Everything you need in one case, including the sketchbook.

What a cute travel watercolor wallet! So functional and very sleek looking.
The Raphaël brush is synthetic, Softaqua. Cute setup!
Que buena esa carterita! I love it! I have the tiny palette and it’s a bit too small but cool either way. I need to sketch more 😭
Beautiful setup.
awesome idea!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, Kawecos don't tend to dry up quickly, which makes them a good drawing pen.
@@MysteryArts Many thanks!
I have an eco twsbi that I've had ink in for 2 years and haven't refilled or cleaned it out. It has done great. The the nib works great every time. 😊
I love this but I am not a leather kind of person. Wish I can find something like this beautiful pouch on amazon.
where did you get the little pans?
I got them at Art Toolkit here: arttoolkit.com
