Opus 88 broad nibs are not the best in my experience, says a lot that the 1.5 stub writes better in my tiny handwriting than their normal broad.

The model that is available is Omar in Latte and the Opus 88 Demo. Online purchase, unable to write and feel test it at the store. In your opinion which one your prefer. Omar or the squarish Demo. For your referrence I have an Estie Raven button filler. Love the size and the balance. Thanks for your input and opinion.

My No 2 Reserva is not great ... it has never held a point & when wet it spreads like it's dry. My No 4 is great ... purchased both at the same time. It seems the No 2 lines have issues.

i got it at amazon germany für like 109€ last week and therefore it is worth it. The over 250€ would be - but thats my opinion - too much for all the cons you mention (and which i second!). But I will use it for a companion of my little travel notebook.

I just ordered the green glass model 02 Vanness collaboration from Vanness Pens in July 2024. I saw someone's unboxing video a few days ago and thought it was a recent release, so I raced to order one. They were out of fine, but the rest were available? They advertised only 75 per batch. Did they do more batches since this vid? Idk, but it's coming Friday. 😍

I have the exact same pen with a stub nib, very smooth and lovely writer.

Can’t find it at the moment but I watched a video where the guy, after filling the pen and replacing the nib section, didn’t quite completely screw it down before loosening the back end. He then tightened both down and the pen worked on the first try. I don’t have an Opus 88 or any other eye dropper so take that for what it’s worth.

What kind of case is that?

I almost always dip the nib in the bottle to get the ink flowing.

I find the vintage 51 superior in every respect. There is a reason why these pens, some of them 60 years old, are still going very strong even today.

A Parallel nib with highlighter ink would be a great idea.

I’ve gone back and forth about buying this palette…I love them, but I normally paint at home, so it doesn’t make sense, but it is so tempting!

If you like Ocean Paper, you will LOVE the Shinhan Pass hybrid paints., as I find them similar, but Shinhan is more versatile IMO. The PASS are opaque when applied masstone, but transparent when watered down. Many of the colors granulate or have a bit of texture.

What a beauty! Can you please tell me something about the ef nib? I have a ef sailor pro gear slim.. is this wider? What about the grip in long writing sessions? Slippery ? Thank you my dear Lady.

Thanks! I was pretty frustrated by how much difficulty I had getting mine to flow. This shows I wasn’t doing anything wrong. It just takes a bit.

I have the Palladium nib. It is wonderful. I like ink windows, but I would not want one interfering with the beautiful look of my Bronze Age.

RUclips is starting to freak me out. I just got the new A1 with the Fine nib. I filled the cartridge but forgot to dip the nib unit in the bottle. I came back with the pen and here you were, on autoplay. I guess RUclips thought that I didn’t know how to fill it. 😂 I like Medium and 1.1 mm stubs so I was holding out for a medium. I will probably have to get the real thing for that. The Fine is 0.5mm vs 0.4mm for extra fine so it probably isn't worth the upgrade for most people. I got the black with gold trim. It looks like I spent a lot more than I did. You have to love that.

I haven’t smelled anything odd about the Fountain Pen Revolution pens. They often have sales, and if you have any problems, be sure to reach out to them as they are very responsive. I love their ultra flex nibs!

I have modified the Pilot parallel nibs with sandpaper, very easy and doesn’t take long..

I know this video is from 2 years ago.. I use the Pilot parallel nibs in Opus 88 demonstrator pens. The nib fits perfectly and you have a huge ink capacity of almost 4 ml.. I have a few of these pens for my urban sketching.

Decided to try a couple of makers. The parallel fits snugly into a Walltown Pen Oslow model using the whole feed!

I agree Jacksons has the best prices. I had filled my cart for their current Schminke sale. Then I saw the cost if shipping. $20 pretty much canceled any savings 😢 I moved on. I thought they had a US warehouse to ship for sales on their US site. Apparently not with $20 International shipping costs. I was ready to drop $150 on paints. No free shipping, No Bueno. They're going to charge me the same price as a $40 sale? 😢 Every other site offers free shipping on larger sales.

I just got the Taccia ink in the Dark Indigo shade. It’s a great ink, like most Sailor inks, but, it’s pretty much the same as the other Sailor blue black inks I have. Not sure why I was expecting anything different - and the box sure is pretty, but I wish I’d gotten one of the lighter blues.

I wish I could try out this de atramentis document ink, yet Canadian Amazon , wants $ 75.oo for 35 ml.... I bought 2x Platinum ink for $20 cad each ...$40 total ...and now i have ink for days. I am still trying to figure out , which of the inks, that noodlers makes that is water proof and fountain pen friendly. Have you tried out *Deleter Manga Ink* Marker & Water Proof Extra Black Ink, Matte Black, 30ml/Bottle, only $16 cad

From my experience, Troublemaker Pertichor is a very dry ink that changes every smooth nibs to be feedbackish. I guess that's why TWSBI ECO B nib weren't smooth in this video.

I know this an old video but wanted to comment what a beautiful collection you have and also say thank you as I learned a lot from you about different vintage nibs and also changing nibs out. I have a number of Esties but I also love my Jrs and feel they are under appreciated by the FP online community.
