I have a feeder and change out my food usually once a week and keep close tabs on it. I am lucky and have no pests invading.
I have a Lemon tree and use lemon juice for cleaning when they are available. Something that should be said is when using soap it should be rinsed very well and leave no soapy residue.
I also use a bottle brush that is strictly used for the feeder exclusively.
I found and noticed your channel when you were on the American River talking about Chinook Salmon . I have been to that spot many times and I fish (wading and kayaking)all over said river.
Glad I found your channel and I subscribed!

@@marknunez2351 Hi! Your point about thoroughly rinsing off any soap residue is a very good one! Thanks for mentioning it. And thanks for supporting my channel! I'm glad you found me here.

Love this show! I haven’t had as many hummingbirds this year. Doing all the right things but I use a 4 part water 1 part sugar. Maybe not sweet enough?

Making the mixture sweeter might make a difference, but mostly I think it comes down to how many hummingbirds are in the area and how closely they are guarding the feeder and driving off the competition.
