    Good video, thank you. You showed an important detail about scraping-out some of the texture on the existing wall. Before putting in the corner bead it would have been best to prefill on that left wall just to even out the surface then let it dry. Then, now that it is all even and uniform it would make the next step of applying the corner bead more straight, more even and easier.

    Note: 3M makes a spray glue specifically for this material called 60 Adhesive. You spray on the bead and on the wall, wait a few minutes, and then adhere using the double dry contact method (from the old rubber cement days). In this way, you can use for inside/outside corners for ceilings, walls, bulkheads, etc and stick it up easy without fighting gravity. Let glue dry and mud afterward.

      Didn’t using this adhesive and had issues with lifting during drying phase. Had to tear it out and redo with std drywall tape. Adhesive may have helped. Willing to try next time for the perfect corners.

    While inside corner bead adds a little bit of cost to the project. Its much more forgiving than the traditional drywall tape method. Also a bit quicker. Highly recommendable to the average DIYer. Good video.

    Another very helpful video, thank you! I'm off to see how I can do. So up in the corner, can the vertical and horizontal beads overlap? I don't know if that matters. I guess in general, can paper tape overlap, or should the tapes run up flush to each other, or should there be a gap between them?

    Do you need to apply mud all the way into the inside, or can you just feather the perforated portion?

    • @FixThisHouse
      @FixThisHouse  2 года назад +2

      Please apply mud on the inside or you will get air pocket bubbles

      Recommend using adhesive to avoid messy lifting during mud drying. Had a poor experience.

    • @sethhamilton5824
      @sethhamilton5824 Год назад

      @@davidzwicker9988 the mud is the adhesive. It is so viscous that it creates a vacuum behind the corner trim which holds it in place.

    Well done. And I LOVE "Don't waste materials!". Too much waste these days. Also, way nice putting a camera in your daughter's hands for the hand-held stuff. You may just spark an interest in a really cool way to make a living (I come from a production background. And in fact, I know a wildly successful cameraman/camerawoman couple who comment from Washington to LA for work!).
