Best indoor coaster ever. The only thing I hate about this ride is the horrendous wait times. You can go to Kings Island on a weekday before the kids go on summer vacation and get on Diamondback, Vortex, Invertigo, Beast, even Banshee in 15-20 minutes, Firehawk in about 30 minutes. But you're gonna wait 45 minutes for Flight of Fear even on a slow day. It's just too dangerous to have two trains on the track at the same time.
Matt Steiger All that rain closed everything except Boo blasters and Flight Of Fear one night. No one was there. I had never rode the thing because of the long lines. I walked on 4 consecutive times. I'm done. No more for me.
It is not Dangerous to have both trains running. Car 1 launches after car 2 is done unloading. When it launches car 1, car 2 comes into the loading dock . Look up Block brakes. A block is at the station, the Mid course Brake run, and the unloading dock. there is 3 blocks so 2 trains can run SAFELY. If it wasn't safe, it wouldn't be running.
When I rode it i got trolled BAD Operator: Do you guys want a countdown me, my friends and other people riding it: YES! BLAST OFF! i still remember it so clearly
REVIEW: This by far was the scariest ride for me personally. In line we all thought it would be a kiddy-ride but as soon as we saw those carts take off, we just 'bout had a stroke. We got in the second-to-front seats and we shot off quite fast (they will troll you with countdowns sometimes). We entered a room as we can tell the air conditioning changed and we saw flashes of light everywhere and we were being pulled and everything (felt like an inversion table). Although it's hard to tell, the ride does go upside down and has hardcore corkscrews, and none of it you'll see coming. I recommend bringing a friend to hold onto xD Rate 10/10, best ride for Kings Island.
I love how the operators on this ride mess with you on the launch. When I rode it the operator said "Prepare to Launch in 5,4,3" and then they just launched us XD
I work here, basically when we press the dispatch button there is a three second pause. So, instead of just waiting we kinda like to make it seem like you're waiting to go. When in reality we've already hit the dispatch button XD
That was one heck of a ride. When the lapbar came down without a shoulder harness, I was like "inside, no shoulder restraints, no way this'll have loops." Had so many loops, I could never tell when I was rightside up or upside down. Loved it
One the operated said " can I get a whoo whoot?!" And they launched us in the middle so it ended up sounding like " can I get a whoot whoot?!" "Whoot, ahhhhhh!"
EnderBoss806 for me our Operator said...Bill Nye the Science guy.then shot us off and the train before us was...are you guys ready? the people responded by saying yeah then the operator said Sounds like a bunch of Hoopla to me.then launched them off.
This is far and away one of the most insane experiences I think I ehave ever had on a rollercoaster. I was not expecting anything that fast or unpredictable.
thank god they finally took the shoulder harness out cause before they took it out this ride would bang your head like crazy. Now with just the lap bar it's 100 percent better experience.
This is the best roller coaster I've ever been on. Scares the crap outta me everytime and I've been riding it since it opened at Kings Dominion in 1996!
Just rode that BEAST yesterday. Freakin incredible ride! You never know whats coming, so your not able to prepare yourself for whats coming... Love it!
This is by far my favorite roller coaster at Kings Island. It's so fast and exciting, and you're almost constantly in a loop or corkscrew. Once you get off, you don't know WHAT just happened!
It used to have shoulder straps, however they were huge. Your head would bounce from side to side on the straps. People were complaining of severe headaches and other injuries. Your legs are secured in via the lap bar, but the lap bar is HUGE. Your entire lower half is secured in place, yet still gives you room to wiggle around. The new lap bar/leg restraint system is much more comfortable, gives you a feeling of freedom, and I think every ride needs this restraint system.
I went to Kings Island yesterday with my choir. I hadn't rode a roller coaster since I was 5. My friends said that you couldn't tell that you were turning. They lied. :P This was my first REAL roller coaster! It was AMAZING!!!!
Last year I went on it and I was thinking "It's been 2 hours in line so the coaster better be worth it. I said "Is it that scary?" To my brother, he says "No." I look at the line and think "Not much longer..." He says it doesn't go fats so It would be good for my age, When we get there, we are brought to front seats, And I see the loops. I slap my brother, It starts and we go fast, I say, "Noah, Fuc- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" And form then on, It was accually pretty fun.
When I rode it the worker said "Before I let you go I have a question." "........WHAT ARE THOSEESEEEEEEEEEE" And the people before she went " okay on three . 1...2 PEACE ." And hit the thingy
The build-up is the best part. After half an hour of walking through the line, the last few minutes in a small tunnel will rev up even the most jaded coaster fan, as he/she hears the (ever increasing in volume) sound of capacitors dumping electricity, people screaming, and the roar of the coaster down the tracks. You don't actually see anything until you turn the corner and are 2nd to next in line. EHRRRRRNNN-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-RHOOOOOOOSHSHAHASRHRclackaclackaclacka
This ride is crazy awesome! Since it's so packed into a building you feel like you're going to hit the other parts of the track. A tip though, MAKE SURE you keep your head back against the head rest at the beginning or else you'll get a bad headache since the ride goes so fast.
Might not be the fastest, tallest, even the scariest ride ever, but I would bet that this is the #1 ride at scaring people out of line. Reasons this happens: fear of the launch, fear of falling out because of the lack of restraints(99.9 % impossible to fall out),don't want to stick around any longer to find out why people is fleeing and the big one is not knowing it's a roller coaster. flight of Fear is a amazing ride that makes grown men and women flee in fear!
When I went on this, the ride operator gave us a countdown: "5...4..." ZZZOOOOOM!!!! Off to the darkness! Loooooong wait in line but ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. If you go to King's Island and skip this ride, you've committed a crime against the park.
Rode this last Friday and when it was finished my daughter asked, "What just happened?" The ride is very dark. I like this video because I can see a bit of the track layout.
It originally had shoulder restraints, but these caused a lot of people to band their heads back and forth. The ride is safe. There is no lap seatbelt, but a short belt makes sure that if the lap bar fails, the restraints will not rise fully. I've been on both the Kings Island and Kings Dominion models, I believe.
If you're a new rider, remember to keep your head back as soon as they start saying "clear". The operator will launch it without you barely expecting it. When I was on it a couple days ago, he didn't do a countdown. His words were "hey guys, guess what?" *launch* 😂
haha when I rode the operator trolled us soo hard, he said " here's a funny story, so I was like" then the ride took off😂😂 but I think the funny part was I was looking at him and long story short I got whiplash wasn't funny then but it is now😂😂😂😂
Me,my mom, Her boyfriend and his two kids might go to Kings Island this summer and I am going to ride this my first roller coaster ever! I love this video hope we go! My older brother told me about this and Invertigo I want the ride both of these mostly this one!
Lol, I was there today(August 20th) line was only 20-30 minutes, the line barely started outside, only for maybe 5 minutes then u got in the nice air-conditioned part! Flight of Fear is AWESOME! The best ride ever! I love how it goes so fast in just one second! Isn't that ride just the best?
Yes, 4 times. It's actually way more fun with only a lap bar as you feel completely free! (They had huge restraints before and removed them to put only lap bars which are even safer)
lol i remember going on this my mother told me to remove my glasses, and with all of my rides i usually keep them on, but she kept yelling at me to take them off, and man am i glad i did that thing had corkscrew loops exceeding like 80 mph, it was so fun, better than diamondback.
yeah a lot of roller coasters do that. Mr. Freeze at six flags St. Louis, Superman ultimate flight at six flags discovery kingdom, Iron Shark at Galveston Island's pleasure pier to name a few. These rides are also safety tested everyday and are completely safe. There is no way you come out of those restraints.
No, we didn't wear our choir shirts. Well, the elementary and high school choirs were. The Jr. High just wore anything. My group was walking around with our choir director because his son is one of my best friends. He saw those shirts and he was like no way I love those shirts. :)
finally somebody shows the flight of fear ride like the last video i watched it only showed the people getting on the coaster and going through through the lauch tunnel
NO JOKE!!! one night back around 2000 or so I was getting in the front seat of this ride and the count down began. It got down to 5....4....3.. and my harness came up!! I jumped strait out. And everybody freaked out in line. The staff begged me to get back on the ride. Like the 20 year old fool I was I did it. lol. Man that was the scariest ride ever. That was when I realized I have balls of steel. I bet most people wouldn't have rode it. I coulda died. It still scares the crap out of me. WOOOO!
@Xcorgi So... it's painful to ride? Would you recommend it or not? I have a gold pass and I"m considering riding this ride, but I don't to ruin my day by getting injured on this ride.
I went on it when I was about 10 or 11, and at first when I was waiting in line I was freaking out because it looked reallllly scary but my family made me ride it and I'm glad they did because it was really fun:)
It's a pretty big lap bar that you can also tuck your feet under. I actually prefer these lap bars to shoulder harness, no banging of the head in high G-force areas.
@TheMawkMan Another factor that makes certain rides fun, is that if you've never been on it, you most likely dont know where the hell it's going, especially if its in the dark.
On the part where it stops you, yeah, well it got stuck on that part while I was on it. When we finally got moving, we moved so slow that I thought we wouldn't make it over the last corkscrew. But we did. Fun ride.
OMG I LOVE this ride!!!! i rode it with my teacher (school trip) and i was screamin my but off and holdin on as tight as i could andand my teacher hardly screamed and had her hands up and she was laughing at me at the end and i was like "ms kuhn! please shut up!" (glad i didnt get detention for sayin shut up to her :P)
This is the same coaster at The Poltergeist that is located in San Antonio's Six Flags, except this one is inside, and The Poltergeist is outside. Check it out!
in that ride they were still talking when the ride was still going on liken on the vortex i went upside down then i gave a hi-five when it was still going on. i love the vortex
does anyone ever put the hands up on take off and keep them up i've seen a few videos and everyone seems to always hold on anyway wish we had a ride like this one

Chef Danger Saturday at about 9:30 PM, there was almost nobody in line.
When I rode it i got trolled BAD
Operator: Do you guys want a countdown
me, my friends and other people riding it: YES!
BLAST OFF!
i still remember it so clearly
OMG SAME I RODE IT YESTERDAY AND HE DID THAT
Barfk 😂😂
Captain Cat they did that when TheTimTracker was there too.
Mifivoo im done
He play to much 😑😑

Rate 10/10, best ride for Kings Island.
ProgrammingUniverse I rode this years ago with my family while visiting Ohio. We all thought the same thing. "oh look a kiddie ride" boy were we wrong
Sebastian those cork screws are fun though
I love how the operators on this ride mess with you on the launch. When I rode it the operator said "Prepare to Launch in 5,4,3" and then they just launched us XD

This is the funnest ride of all time in my opinion. I'm going to kings island in 3 days & I'm so pulling my friend on this! Pure. Fun.
One the operated said " can I get a whoo whoot?!" And they launched us in the middle so it ended up sounding like " can I get a whoot whoot?!" "Whoot, ahhhhhh!"
Omg lol
EnderBoss806 for me our Operator said...Bill Nye the Science guy.then shot us off and the train before us was...are you guys ready? the people responded by saying yeah then the operator said Sounds like a bunch of Hoopla to me.then launched them off.
Mine too today
EnderBoss806 Last time I was there the ride operator said "Why did the chicken cross the road?" We said "To get to the other siAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!"
This is far and away one of the most insane experiences I think I ehave ever had on a rollercoaster. I was not expecting anything that fast or unpredictable.
thank god they finally took the shoulder harness out cause before they took it out this ride would bang your head like crazy. Now with just the lap bar it's 100 percent better experience.
my operate said
do you guys want to hear a joke
then we took off...
I was heart broken
I rode this with my friend and when it started I couldn't scream because the speed knocked the air out of me so my friend thought I had passed out.
I love the sound it makes at launch
this is one of the best coasters eva. Pitch Black, the acceleration, and the down spiral drop near the end was totally worth the wait.
This is the best roller coaster I've ever been on. Scares the crap outta me everytime and I've been riding it since it opened at Kings Dominion in 1996!

I am going to Kings Island tomorrow and this is on the top of the ride list!!!! I think the fear of the unknown will be the best part about this ride!
The acceleration of the take off is so powerful...i love it!

Rode this last Friday and when it was finished my daughter asked, "What just happened?" The ride is very dark. I like this video because I can see a bit of the track layout.
favorite ride ever THE BEGINNING IS AMAZING!!

Hard to believe this beauty is coming up on its 20th year in 2016!!
I love it when you stop and you look down and you're like "oh shit...."
i love how the dude is just chillin like he aint givin a single f*** lol

love that ride!! my fav. part is the corkskrews!
Loved this one!!!
LOVE this ride!!!!
I love this roller coaster soooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this ride needs more credit, i didnt even know what it was and almost didn't go on it until some told me it was a roller coaster
This ride was cool and how the entrence was with the alien ship was awsome! Me and my friend rode this ride it was fun
Going to the park this friday and saturday!!!! Can't wait to ride this!
I find it amazing that all that's holding u in is a lap belt 0_____0
This ride and Diamondback are my favorite rides at kings island! :)
this ride is so sick. the long wait is worth it.
Me,my mom, Her boyfriend and his two kids might go to Kings Island this summer and I am going to ride this my first roller coaster ever! I love this video hope we go! My older brother told me about this and Invertigo I want the ride both of these mostly this one!

i love this rollercoasterrr(:
it's my faveee[:
lol this is my fav ride at kings island :P but no matter how many times I ride this, I always manage to forget how fast it takes off.

I like how right in the middle of it, it stops and you feel like it's over then you rocket off again =)
so is this pretty much the same exact ride as the rockin rollercoaster at disney?
yeah a lot of roller coasters do that.
Mr. Freeze at six flags St. Louis, Superman ultimate flight at six flags discovery kingdom, Iron Shark at Galveston Island's pleasure pier to name a few. These rides are also safety tested everyday and are completely safe. There is no way you come out of those restraints.
Flight of Fear is the best roller coater EVAR!!!!
It is sooooooooooooo fun :3
this looks awesome, wat kind of restraints r there

finally somebody shows the flight of fear ride like the last video i watched it only showed the people getting on the coaster and going through through the lauch tunnel
yes it does but they have a lap bar with ankle restrases on it to where you don't fall out since it does not have over the shoulder restratns
NO JOKE!!! one night back around 2000 or so I was getting in the front seat of this ride and the count down began. It got down to 5....4....3.. and my harness came up!! I jumped strait out. FLIPPIN GOODNESS! IT'S IN THE DARK? SO FREAKIN' RIDING IT!!!!
@Xcorgi So... it's painful to ride? Would you recommend it or not? I have a gold pass and I"m considering riding this ride, but I don't to ruin my day by getting injured on this ride.

does anyone know why at kings dominion they dont have the dark strobe light entrance anymore?
It's a pretty big lap bar that you can also tuck your feet under. I actually prefer these lap bars to shoulder harness, no banging of the head in high G-force areas.
@TheMawkMan Another factor that makes certain rides fun, is that if you've never been on it, you most likely dont know where the hell it's going, especially if its in the dark.
Glitter. Stache. Have fun at Kings Island today,I can't wait till tomorrow cause I'm going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
quick question for anyone...if i can handle the vortex could i handle this...im always worried imma throw up..but i did the vortex completely fine
Mall of America and Kings island are my favorites
hey guys what do you think i should ride first when i go?
at one point in the ride it randomly stops. it tricks you to think that your done, but then it zooms off again.
There's this seatbelt to keep the lap bar secure, much like on their ride, Vortex. It's very secure, and fun.
On the part where it stops you, yeah, well it got stuck on that part while I was on it. When we finally got moving, we moved so slow that I thought we wouldn't make it over the last corkscrew. But we did. Fun ride.
Is this a bit like rock'n'rollercoaster, but with heaps more inversions?
That ride omg my legs hurt so bad riding that ride!!
This was the most bad ass ride there :)
i freakin love this ride! even though it makes ur head hurt... i literally didnt know when i was upside down or right side up XD
This ride was totally worth the wait
OMG I LOVE this ride!!!! i rode it with my teacher (school trip) and i was screamin my but off and holdin on as tight as i could andand my teacher hardly screamed and had her hands up and she was laughing at me at the end and i was like "ms kuhn! please shut up!" (glad i didnt get detention for sayin shut up to her :P)
This was so worth the forty-five minute wait.
i went on this and absolutely loved it
I can't wait for Kings island to open back up
since it goes upside down, How come they have lap bars instead of shoulder bars?
looks fun!!!
I was there yesterday as well, and I saw a LOT of people wearing choir and band t-shirts! were you guys wearing the, "you're under a rest!" shirts?
This is the same coaster at The Poltergeist that is located in San Antonio's Six Flags, except this one is inside, and The Poltergeist is outside. Check it out!
there is always a long line totally worth the wait
can anyone tell me if this is similar to aerosmith rock n roller coaster at Disney?
This thing takes off like lightning! Also, it throws you back and forth so violently that it bruises the shit out of your shoulders.
that guy was like "this is neat, yeah, i like what you did there , mmmm hmm. thats pretty cool.. "
When I rode this my sisters were screaming I was like ok cool that was fun. Btw it was my first time going to kings island my fave was diamond back
in that ride they were still talking when the ride was still going on liken on the vortex i went upside down then i gave a hi-five when it was still going on. i love the vortex
Haha worked this lastnight during the Haunt and got to go beneath it with the lights on and look around, awesome experience!
Ohmg this was the scariest ride i ever rode...IT WAS AWESOME!
does anyone ever put the hands up on take off and keep them up i've seen a few videos and everyone seems to always hold on anyway wish we had a ride like this one
I cant beleive they changed it. now it doesnt have the stop in the middle. I miss that stop.
they have the normal pull down bar but its over your feet too and youre buckled in on the side its real safe
