🚁👍🏼‼️ great clip! Damn, I can’t find the MD Heilicopters - Commercial spot again for the NOTAR Technology where a MD520 N was flying slowly backwards into a tree without crashing to show this genius invention. I saw this years ago on RUclips & it was so impressive! 🚁👍🏼‼️ If someone of you guys here in the comment section knows the link, pls let me know, thx!
I recall in the late 70's. Meeting a Gazelle passing to our port side, Huey. He went to a hover, then backwards and kept up with us. It was well above trees, but now our pilot became his eyes for quite a distance.
Really tight quarters. Weren't you afraid you'd stick the tail rotor in the trees? I did a similar landing in Vietnam and had two crewmen on the skids to make sure we didn't back into a tree. While we were working on the landing the VC showed up and shot us down. Great landing on your part. Kudos from someone who can really appreciate what you did.
Holy jezzus dude. Respect. Love everything about helos. Can't fly but love watching vids. How many hours is that for that amount of confidence. Respect from Scotland 👍👍

Holy shit! That was ace! Such a narrow space there and keeping the skid on the log....awesome!
This has got to be the most intense view from a helicopter I have ever seen! Great flying, thanks for posting.
Thanks it's was a fun job!
Gotta love the high skids and the NOTAR that day! Great flying!
Thanks it's was fun day! Nice and sunny with just enough wind.

tony montana very good pilot and good dangerous landing with MD 530 copter not so easy !

Talking about confine space. Sir that is impressive 👌🏽

Very cool landing and take off dude you are very cool pilot

Tight! (Literally)
Did you get your Helicopter rating in the MD520?
It's amazing how stable this helicopter hovers fully loaded with the weight of his balls...
Surge 🤣
And not a single inch of left pedal was spared that day
Just Dew It! Why is he using so much left pedal?
Just Dew It! He's using Left Pressure to the Left.
@@henkeH2 because to counter the torque of main rotor, the more the collective is high the more left pedal you put, if i remember well my X-Plane 10 experience 😁
Yes crazy!!
He is using high power of the main rotor while changing the blade's pitch (for quicker reaction if needed) ,so he use left ped.so
Parabéns piloto

That and the blades don't touch anything...
Brian Callahan the blades on the helicopter is to keep him cool. Don’t think so? Stop them and watch the pilot start panicking and sweating.
Thos would be my dream job!
My favorite light heli flown nice and low. How awesome is that! I assume you've landed there before judging by those Logs with the flattened tops?
Let off survey crews! The logs were cut too wide for the 520 so I just balanced on the left skid so they could exit the aircraft!

Wow...
interesting landing pads. Just two big ole piece of trees flat spotted by chain saws for something to land on
That is what 90% of Alaska man made LZ are! Logs put in place to land on!

A ton of left pedal on landing.
Is that a notar thing or was it very high altitude.
She was very heavy with Fuel and Gear!
My worst fear is clipping that tail rotor. Nice descent.
No tail rotor to clip! Notar!
Good stick

hOLy Cow... that was a lot of left pedal. Was there anything left?
Lots left! We were pretty heavy going in the hole
