Yep. I miss that "angry Het" attitude. Slayer never did a 180 on how they approached music, fans and concerts which is why I kinda can't stand Metallica after 2000.

This video (and the band obviously) was the reason I bought my first electric guitar, several years ago. I placed my order just after seeing and listening to this masterpiece. And I keep rocking since then 🤘
Incredible performance! THIS song, THIS room, THIS night, a rock god stalking the stage, the perfect lens for the energy and emotion in that crowd! It was glorious!!!
I remember catching this as I recorded Rage at 2am back in in 1990 as a 12 year old. I won't explain, but any Aussie of the era will understand. I took it to my band and we played Master this way for the next ten years.
I saw Metallica on this tour at Alpine Valley, WI, and to this day, it's still one of my top concerts of all time!!! We had 6th row center and they F'ing rocked!!!!!
So how does by having your phone out diminish how one enjoys a live show? I hate when people say this shit, with how technology has evolved since then, its only expected that this happens. Not only that but don’t you think someone would want to record and save that memory to view whenever they choose to in their life? Or show to their friends and family? Not everyone can go see their favorite band more than once, or go to shows and festivals all the time. Again, or just by inevitability getting old and having your memory get foggy. I have no clue how or when this saying started, I imagine it probably started from old heads seeing more young people get their phones out and record more and more at shows and ignorantly assume because someone is recording (specifically with their phone apparently) it must mean that their full attention is not on the performance JUST because they’re triggered and let other people stop them from enjoying things. Seriously, worry about yourself and what you’re doing, who gives a shit if someone records a show? Christ.
Well said and what kind of phone were we going to have at the 1989 concert and so totally different time me who seen these guys open for ozzy in Peoria in 1986 thinks there were great things back then and also now but this was these 4 dudes in their prime with such emotion energy and skill times 5 but also great concert and all but there wasn't a lot to do back in the late 80s like the options todsy
Well, all I can say is I was there and yes it was as awesome as it seems. On their next tour through Seattle (Black Album) I was backstage (I played in bands. so had a few hook ups) Thats the show that started with full on crowd surge to the stage when they started Sandman. I was on the soundboard helping protect the equipment and keep people off Mick Hughes' back......wild shit.
