Say your prayers little one
Don't forget, my son
To include everyone
Tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
'Till the sandman he comes
Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight
Exit, light
Enter, night
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land
Somethings wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they aren't of Snow White
Dreams of war, dreams of liars
Dreams of dragon's fire
And of things that will bite
Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight
Exit, light
Enter, night
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land
Now I lay me down to sleep
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
If I die before I wake
I pray the lord my soul to take
I pray the lord my soul to take
Hush little baby, don't say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
It's just the beasts under your bed
In your closet, in your head
Exit, light
Enter, night
Grain of sand
Exit, light
Enter, night
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land
Yeah!
We're off to never-never land
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land

Metallica in Soviet Russia, with the military holding off the audiences and choppers flying around. I think this is one of, if not, the most hardcore concert I’ve seen
you probably haven't seen when Pantera came up on stage!
with Military actually joining the crowd
@@AndreaP76 yeah, that would have been a bloodbath
Squizzo I think it makes no difference tho, since Russia is still the successor of the USSR even after it collapsed
@@yokgor4675 well, I think you can say that NOW it is so, in too many ways, sadly, even if there's a lot more freedom for the normal people than 30+ years ago, but not at that time. Hetfield said in an interview that the police/army at this concert was clearly unprepared at the beginning because they had no experience at all of something like this, nor with a crowd that big (I think there were about half a million people there), and they thought that people in the mosh pit were beating eachother instead of having fun, so they reacted bashing people like in a riot. But by the end of the concert most of them joined the crowd. We can say that the "chain of command" was totally broken at that time, people had a great need of freedom (soldiers/policemen and everyone in the military forces were no exceptions), and events like this were the first attempts of finally having just that. You can bet this could have never happened even a year or two before.
30 years later, this might still be the heaviest metal moment in history. Those people are loosing their minds! On that day, Moscow was probably the happiest place on earth.
Its close ...checkout acdc playing hells bells live in River Plate Argentina around 2008. That crowd was nuts.
i think everyone lose their minds-listening Metallica!
@@ericfeick4270 Agreed that is the best crowd I have ever seen. This comes in a close second though.
These people lived in the country under the Iron Curtain a year ago! They lived in the USSR. They only listened to such rock bands from underground locations! You could go to jail for this! The song of your favorite Western artists was recorded on tape from X-rays and listened quietly at home so that neighbors did not call the police and tell them that you are a supporter of the United States Department of State or another Western country! That is why this concert fills people with emotions so much! They were finally able to openly do what they want!
@@Leoton007 Yes, I heard a radio segment about the x-ray disks (bootleg records made from old x-rays). I met some Polish students in 1988 in Greece who were the most resourceful people I'd ever met... Modifying broken flashlights to work with under or oversized batteries. All kinds of crazy stuff. I thought if there's a nuclear war, people in communist countries will survive because the can do the most amazing things with basically garbage. It is no surprise they figured out a way to listen to rock when it was otherwise impossible.
3:32 that's the most epic rock shot of all time...perfect guitar power stance, a helicopter over the crowd and a million people in the audience.

I watched a movie about how this amazing concert was organized. It was very hard, the guys were just adventurers))). The mayor of Moscow then was Luzhkov and he allowed it all.
