Marvel Comics and Video Games. A match made... somewhere? From the 80s with the NES all the way to modern times with the Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch, there's been Licensed Marvel video games throughout all of gaming. 40 years in fact! SO this here's a deep dive into some of the... less notorious of the bunch. Considering there's well over 100 of these, we've got our work cut out for us.

I sure love me some Superhero video games. Like, we keep going back to them on this channel, y'all seem to dig watching it and my descent into westaboo continues. What are some good or Forgotten Super Hero games you played? Or the first?

Jed McKay has been killing it on Moon Knight the past few years, I'd highly recommend that run.
Ryan North's Fantastic Four has been out for a little over half a year now (so probably a trade out or about to come out soon?) and you can tell he just gets the characters; really great writing there.
Anything Al Ewing touches is gold but his recent Ant-Man and Wasp minis were both really fun and great looks at the history of both characters.

feels really weird to say "Nolan North matched Ryan Reynolds" when Nolan really set the bar for Deadpool in MVC3. so i was super glad he reprised that role for the Deadpool game. if anything i think Ryan just really nailed his own take of the character.
as you said, Nolan goes hog wild with the role and its fucking great. Ryan is reeled back a lot more, but its still Deadpool.
also that game could only be batshit insane. aside form it getting rather difficult near the end, it was just about everything
i was expecting from a modern Deadpool game after what i had learned about the current era of the character at that time.

There used to be a Facebook browser game called Marvel: Avengers Alliance and I LOVED it. You collected Marvel heroes and they had classes and costumes and it was a turn based RPG and they shut it down years agom but I still wish I could play it. I miss it.

It's technically canon that all of these games are official marvel universes. The fun part is imagining how they connect. Do all hulk games share a continuity? Are all the LJN games in the same universe? Are ports to other systems their own universes?

I once got to attend a presentation about game devcelopment co-hosted by one of the Deadpool project leads after he had left High Moon.
He said that they basically had a "throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" approach to making that game, and that the only thing that ended up getting cut was a segment where Deadpool fights a T-rex.
He also said that Deadpool was a game that came out too early, because while he had that meme appeal and was popular in the comics, he was still pretty niche outside of that small demographic, and since the Deadpool movie was still a few years off, there was no way to appeal to the normie crowd who's only exposure to the character was X-Men Origins Wolverine.

The first console I ever owned was the original PlayStation so if I remember correctly, my first Marvel game was Spider-Man. You all know which one. That game is a true classic and is the reason I still remember the original Spider-Man theme song the whole way through.
I even remember replaying it the most when wearing the Scarlett Spider suit, but I don't remember why I used it so often. Still all in all, that game is one of my favorite games on the PlayStation as well as one of my favorite games ever.
