I have watched alot of videos of this grill, there is 3 things that you can do that people don't know :
1-you can skip the preheat period
2-you can relaunch ignition of the pellets
3-you can have cold smoking by turning the temperature to the minimum

My old Pitt Boss is on its last leg and my wife surprised me for fathers day with the Ninja Wood Fire. Just received it today and had to fire it up. Through some burgers, sausages, and wings on the grill setting.... Good lawd it was good! Meat came out very moist with awesome color. I'm going to test out the other settings but so far so good! She brought the basic model which is fine with me and I just Pit it on the patio table until the stand comes. For my family of four, this cooks enough food and my daughters and wife also loved the inaugural cook in....LOL
Only cons is don't leave the wood burn pot filled up because it takes forever to burn out. Guess it's just a learning curve but other than that I love this little grill.

Bought mine for $299.00. This included the stand. My husband and I are retired and this is perfect for us in our seventies. We had a traditional smoker our daughters bought for my husband on Father’s Day decades ago. He never used the smoker on it because it was a hassle. This Ninja Woodfire Grill will allow us to easily smoke our food. It is very user friendly for us retirees.😁

I enjoy your reviews. You commented on the temperature probe not being accurate. I have both the Ninja Smart XL grill and the Woodfire pro grill. I have noticed that the probe is accurate on proteins that are very lean like beef filet, chicken, burgers. When I cook a steak like a ribeye that has areas of fat, the probe is inaccurate if it touches a fat area. I think the fat gets hotter faster and provides the incorrect meat temperature.

    • @TheAverageKitchen

I’m still learning to use my ninja wood fire grill. It could be a learning curve thing, but my chicken wings only tasted so-so. The wings looked like your chicken wings did. But I was disappointed that the wings didn’t have as much smoke flavor as I like. The pellets created a ton of smoke from the grill way before the add food function came on. Next I tried burgers without the smoke and again it was only so so. I brought this thing because I love grilled and smoked foods especially wings. And I have other ninja products that I’ve been happy with. The ninja wood fire is compact I have a very small yard. Its great for a family of one and very easy to use. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed for more satisfaction as I try different recipes on this grill.

    • @TheAverageKitchen
      @TheAverageKitchen  Год назад +3

Very interesting. I agree the wings were very disappointing. I also have a Traeger smoker, not even on the same level, but to your point, I don’t have an issue with yard space and the Traeger is big. I hope you learn some tricks and pass them along ! Thanks for watching. Marc

    • @micahroberts3564

Don't understand why you would buy this for smoked flavor food. Go with a smoker/grill like a Recteq, GMG Davy Crockett, even a small traeger. I smoke chicken at 200 for an hour, then crank to 375 to finish and its delicious. It takes more work, but that's the joy. You sacrifice a lot for convenience, which is unfortunately usually flavor

As for the temperature on the chicken, it shut off. Until you get food at 165. But it took you a few seconds to pull it off. And put it on the plate and move it over to Where you measure the temperature at 170 degrees. Which would be in line to the increase during resting of 5 to 10 degrees

I put tsp of liquid smoke in bag along with steak then vacumm and let sit in freezer few montha really makes for richer taste while no freezer burn. Because not everyone takes a smoker/grille camping or not everyone has a small apartment balcony but still wants to grille/smoke/dehydrate..etc. But this can serve both purposes, or just the ones each buyer needs when they need it. :) You may like banana chips at home and hamburgers away from home :) I was interested in the steaks flavor which you didn't comment on, and they probably didn't get a fair test, but this was a good 'show me' review that was very helpful. I wonder if you have the probe plugged in all the way. I have the regular foodi air fryer/grill and if the probe isn’t plugged in fully, it will look like it’s working but the temp will be inaccurate. It actually takes a bit of force to plug it in fully, and you’ll feel it sort of snap in place when it’s fully seated.

Thank you for the video, watching from the UK.
I wish Ninja would have the same feature set for UK and US models, for some reason the UK models have a restricted number of features, both on the woodfire and their grills/foodis
Your woodfire for instance has the thermometer and meat selection options, but the UK version doesn't.
I have their largest Foodi Max and it doesn't have the Sous Vide function whereas the US version does.
