You can add more pellets and just press the Woodfire button until you see it flash. You don't have to shut the unit down. I do it all the time. I added pellets twice on a turkey breast roast. And won first place in a recent cooking competition. They said it was juicy and smoked perfectly. Used plumb pellets. They burned very quickly so I had to add more.

Thanks for the info. The ability to add pellets to get a deep smoke flavor is the litmus test for me to whether or not buy this grill. How many times would I need refill the pellets for a rack of ribs?

@@soulinspiration1 They last about 45 minutes. I never know for sure because I cook to internal temps. It's only about a cup of pellets. But the space is confined so you get a lot of smoke in a short amount of time.

@@boonelipsey5393 ok thanks for replying. One last question: How expensive are the pellets? I see it comes with initial supply. Are cheaper brand available that are just as good?

@@soulinspiration1 you can use any food grade pellets. You can even buy the brand they supply in bigger bags cheaper. I use plum pellets. I bought a large bag. Used them all summer and still have half a bag. Bought the plum through Amazon.

This review encapsulates everything I've been telling my friends about this grill. I live in an apartment so a full-blown smoker is just not an option. This thing gives me pretty damn good BBQ on a budget. And my only complaint is the hopper size. Which, unlike in your review, you can press+hold the "Woodfire Smoke" button for about 3 seconds during your cook to re-ignite the pellets a lot quicker. I like to cook, but my burgers have never been better than what I can make on this thing. Highly recommended.

I was a good boy this year, so I asked Santa for a Blackstone and ninja! Absolutely love both! But we’re talking about the ninja. I got the deluxe which is bigger it fits two racks of ribs.! And much more food than the original! Also comes with a probe which I haven’t set up yet! Pretty good! I have mine in the foyer by the pool I live in Florida on the stand and I keep it covered! Absolutely love it. I haven’t fully traditionally use the smoker but I grill and smoke so I use a little smoke when I grill and you can taste the flavor. It’s actually pretty cool.! I’ve used the air fryer just like a traditional convection air fryer and that’s the thing it does cook almost like a convection oven so it does cook a little faster and that’s the one thing you have to keep in mind !! I decimated burgers when I first made them because I cooked them too long! Lol😂 but everything she said is right it’s really easy to use. It’s to me it’s worth it it’s just awesome especially if you don’t have a lot of space it’s great.! I’m blessed to have a lot of space but that it doesn’t matter! It’s made for everyone!

The Ninja Grill still consider a sophisticated electronic device that is always recommended to store indoors. moisture can deteriorate electronic components inside over time if left outdoors. I wonder if we can add conventional wood chips instead of designed pellets in the smoke chamber.

Heyyyyyy! I have both indoor and outdoor (wood fire). We just bought a camper because all our friends started camping and we aren’t moving the 5th wheel up on the hunting property. So our camper doesn’t have a stove. I used my outdoor ninja and made baked potatoes and everything else you cook in an oven and it was quite impressive. We didn’t smoke or grill on it because we were with 7 other campers and everyone made stuff and brought it together. But we have at least 3 more camping trips and I’m sure I’ll cook a tomahawk even if I have to cut some of the damn bone off!! My indoor ninja that I got for Christmas, I love that dang thing!! I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEE IT!!! I have a decent stove but I literally use my indoor grill twice a day!!
I also love my ninja blender, use it multiple times a day as well as my ninja knives.
Thanks to you, we have two of everything ninja in my house. Carl has his own ninja product 😂😂😂😂😂 I’ll give you the scoop or ask KT. She’ll lol telling you. Xoxo
Oh, everyone needs to get a digital thermometer if your ninja doesn’t come with one. Don’t be like me using my outdoor grill for first few times and burn perfectly good filets first time, ribeyes next time. And I had even watched your video saying throw out ninjas cooking time recommended book! Both indoor and outdoor cooks fast and furious!! 😊 sorry for long winded text. Wonder where KT gets her talking from. Sorry. 😂

Bone in chicken breasts marinate in olive oil and Leaders and then smoke 350 for 35 minutes and then check on cook speed. It will blow your mind. Warning for folks in the UK, if you're thinking of buying this, be aware that the UK version does not cold smoke like the USA version.
So if you have idea's of putting a little smoke flavour on say sausages, the lowest smoker temp is 120c (248f) so they'll be cooked before they get any smoke flavour.
Also forget getting a med rare steak, this thing just doesn't get anywhere near hot enough to get that nice sear without over cooking. You'll also see many well know demo's on cooking & smoking a whole chicken, they come out awful, dark almost burnt. Big disappointment for me.

I dont ever refill the hopper during a cook. I cant say exactly how long the pellets run for, but maybe an hour and a half? It's designed to only be filled up once, and infuse the meat with smoky flavor at the beginning. Unlike other pellet grills, this one still gets its heat from the convection oven, and not from the pellets burning. So you don't need to run it the whole time!

I've had my Ninja woodfire grill and smoker for about a month now I am impressed with the technology but there are a couple of major CONS considering the fairly hefty price of this product the ridged grill plate is extremely difficult to clean and takes a lot of the fun out of the cooking experience. I would expect at least a non stick surface on the grill plate. The second con and possibly even more important is that the smoke box lid gets jammed up with resin from the smoking and it is almost impossible to open it without breaking it. Even after a thorough clean it still gets jammed up after every smoking. These points might seem minor but for the price a little bit of quality would go a long way
    to solve these problems.

It normally takes 10 minutes or so to start smoking, so it will go through the IGN setting and then preheat. I just cut to it smoking so I didn't waste your time. Behind the scenes its taking like 10 min :) Hope this helps.
