      I'd prefer photos segmented by 36. After 36 exposures you set an iso and have to deal with it and whatever color settings you've picked for an additional 36 exposures. Then when you upload images they come in groups of 36.

      Nope, not absurd. It serves the same purpose as the best-selling Thumbs-Up everyone adds to their digital Ms to create a stability point. I've been screaming for this since the M8, but had given up!

    • @magnusdagbro8226
      @magnusdagbro8226 5 лет назад +1

      Far from non-functional, it's a thumb grip. I have an ugly aftermarket thing sticking out from my flash shoe for my Fujifilm, I'd love if something like this was built in instead. Could even work as an on/off switch like the Nikon F1.

    • @KiloOneThree
      @KiloOneThree 5 лет назад +3

      I tried it in a Leica store. For me... it’s far better than the Thumbs Up. It is practical and functional in that sense. Aesthetically, looking like the advance lever helps it ‘fit in’ to the style of the camera. For me, it doesn’t matter if it has no function at this point. My M9-P has served me well. Now to either M10-P or M10-D.. that is the question.

    I wonder if there's a point of a non-Leica (and as such non $8k price) camera made with a similar mindset of no screen and no additional bells and whistles, with that making a usual digital camera cheaper. Or if having a screen, EVF and etc doesn't really affect modern camera pricing that much due to how the production lines are set up anyway and a camera like that won't really be much cheaper anyway. Either way, could be curious to see some entry-level price/this approach Fuji or something along the lines.

    Were all the photos straight out of camera? If so leica processing engine is pretty sweet.

    Great review Kai! Got a chance to do a video review in Hong Kong! It’s takes awesome photos but it’s a hefty price tag. Only for expert photographers.

    Great video Kai! The pictures looked fantastic and the review was a lot of fun. Could I ever justify paying 8k for a camera? No. But it looks like you had a lot of fun with it, and that is what matters.

    I wonder if there's a non-Leica equivalent out there that won't cost as much as an overseas holiday... I really want to get back to that feeling if being in control but with all the options on my dSLR why wouldn't you use them if they're available.

    I am hoping the M11-D have the actual advance lever just like the function of the Epson RD-1 and will save the battery for a much longer time and a more slimmer body close to the LEica M6 classic.

    Hi Kai, Great review and what a great camera! A bit too pricy for me though so I will stick with my Oly EM1 mk2. Still nice to look at nice stuff though.
