Oh wow, it just occurred to me that the number of people doing the chant decreases each time it's said. That's ... eerie, but really atmospheric. Really goes to emphasize how difficult it must be to become one of The Worthy and what happens to people through the trials.
So Bolas doesn't just want an army... he wants just an army of undead. Not just an army of undead... but an army of undead warriors. Not just an army of undead warriors... but an army of undead warrior champion fighters forged by endless battle and zealously devoted to him as a god. .......*gulp*
Christian Sabado that was very cleaver but i think it line represents one of the gods and that the planeswalkers. You did get the colors right for each one and Nicol bolas being to rise eternal.
I don't think it represents the planeswalkers , I'm pretty sure its for the five trials of the gods. And if you were to complete the five trials of the gods , then you can "rise eternal" , kind of like the twelve labors of Hercules.

This collection was when I started playing, and it feels like another era. I'm currently rewatching all the trailers and when I got to this one I couldn't help but feel emotional about it. So many things have happened in MtG since then, and these trailers seem to capture a feel of wonder that newer trailers and collections don't have. The animations and showcasing of cards, the story being told, it's no longer present. The newer animations are cool, but they aren't the same. I don't know where I was going with this comment, but I guess I just feel nostalgic for this era of MtG that I didn't get to truly experience because it got replaced with what we have now after War of the Spark and the arrival of March of the Machines. Maybe it's just that I miss those earlier years of my life, but it possibly also is that Hasbro and Wizards have been pushing too many sets out and they don't feel the same. With Kaladesh, Amonkhet and Ixalan, we could truly explore these settings, get inmersed on a story with stakes on the setting and characters and now it just feels like we are jumping from one place to another. "Look, we are visiting a land of arthurian legend meets fairytales, and now it's kaiju-land and now it's zendikar again, but don't get to comfortable because we are going to Theros again and now it's Hogwarts in steroids, and now it's viking-world, and now it's New York, and now it's a cyberpunk Kamigawa and now we are in DOMINARIA, everyone, and now we are in New Phyrexia, and now New Phyrexia is no more..." I don't know. I'm nostalgic for the worlds we visited years ago, I guess. I hope one day at some point Wizards and Hasbro stop this mad dash forward aimed at getting money constantly without giving us, the players, an opportunity to truly explore and get accustomed to a set of characters and settings and to let us enjoy them better.

I gotta apologize. I'm a 26-year-old man and to this day I can't say Nicol Bolas without my inner self snickering a little bit. You see, Spanish is my first language, and bolas means "balls" in Spanish. So here we got this elder dragon plainswalker who is inmmensely powerful and his name is Nicol Bolas. Doesn't help that Nicol is more or less how you'd pronounce Nicole (as in Nicole Kidman) in Spanish xD
hahahaha I am from Chile and I had the same experience when I was introduce to the all mighty dragon planeswalker.... and his surname was "bolas/ pelotas / testiculos" and he had a girls name....such a beautiful memory.
I really like how these trailers express the flavor of their respective sets! And this is one of the better ones, though not exactly Eldritch Moon or Journey Into Nyx.
Pro: This is the first time where I feel like the elaborate 3D animation actually looks ok. Con: The last few trailers have been missing a good "who's who" or guided tour of the plane, to let us know what we'll be encountering in the new expansion. The Return to Ravnica and Theros trailers did a good job of showing us the different things that would appear in those blocks.
This is one amazing trailer! Kudos to the team behind this, and I look forward to future trailers with high anticipation if the delivered product is able to even remotely match this quality! The use of music was absolutely spot on, capturing a feeling of ominous power, cultic fervor and blind determination we can expect to find on Amonkhet, infusing the whole piece with a trope-laden flavor reminiscent of works like "The Mummy" (not really surprising, but delivered with delicious dedication). Also great incorporation of the Gatewatch at the end - dramatic but not overly cheesy. The animations have also been improved significantly in the last few years, going miles from "the cards, but slightly moving" to "depicting real action, but keeping the focus on the obvious inspiration (the cards)". All in all, wonderful work. *klick replay again*

Could be one of the key characters staying in AMonkhet.. it also looks as though that gideon might have joined the trials to investigate more on what the trials are and intercepting Hakoret's spear. Coincidentally enough if you look at the lines of the chant, gideon has pretty much went through every single one of them

Bolas is totally trying to make a Planeswalker army loyal to him. The trials are all ways of weeding out the weak and ensuring only the best survive. Killing them in the end is probably an attempt to ignite the spark of a latent planeswalker that survived the trials.
If the netflix series does some stuff on Amonkhet, which is very likely as it centres around chandra and the gatewatch so it could start out with a few episodes each for their origins, battle for zendikar, Innistad, Tarkir, Amonkhet, Kaladesh, Ravnica, war of the Spark or possibly Theros too... They have slot of potential and there's an amazing team behind the production including the Ruso bros and writers of The Tick and Clone Wars TV series, someone who worked on Castlevania series and an animator who's reading through all the card art so I think this is gonna be a phenomenal series.
And there we go, Nicol Bolas is back front and center as the main bad guy. Looks like he's made himself another empire, but I wonder if it'll end up better for him than with his stint in Madara.

He has grown incredibly close to Nissa and Chandra, with even Liliana admitting to respecting his strength early in Amonkhet. =They also have a new 'beefslab' (with a side of fur) in Gatewatch now, replacing the niche that Gideon had. =Gideon is a greek hero, which means there will be hubris in his death. Gods that wield spears like the spear that killed Gideon's friends has plenty of hubris. -Chandra and Nissa will get hit hardest by Gideon's death for the aforementioned reason. (It's not likely, but fucking props to WotC if they put an LGBT relationship into their main cast as aftermath of this. Chandra already seems interested, according to the third chapter of Amonkhet...) -Hour of Devastation will refer to the mourning of Gideon or the death of him, depending on when it happens. -Chandra will go full supernova against Bolas and potentially even hurt him, but let's get real, Bolas doth not die this block. Nissa will be assisting her. -Liliana will be focused on Razaketh more than anything, using the immense power of death in this realm to assist her in the assault against the demon - maybe a power that he overcomes and turns against her. Jace, following his emotions, will go with her more than likely, perhaps with a last minute pulling her ass out of the fire before the two of them go do the same, literally in this case, to Nissa and Chandra.

So nostalgic. I started playing right before Ixalan and Amonkhet block is still my favorite sets today.
