- Don't worry, I'm still doing songs and covers. I just wanted to try this out and see how the reception is, as I'm planning on doing something similar for halloween. If this continues, I'm most likely only going to review your recommendations if it's a band that I have actively listened to.

finally someone who doesn't immediately put warning super close to the bottom
Yeah I love Warning. It’s probably in my top 5.
Warning is underrated, it isn't amazing but it's definitely pretty good
Why the fuck do people hate that album? It makes no sense to me
Well, it can't be too close to the bottom considering they've released their worst albums after American Idiot
Watch Artv
I can’t lie, Jesus of Suburbia is one of my favourite songs.
Dude, it's literally my ringtone
@@jooree7696 Mine is Holiday but I wish I had it

I like homecoming more lol
@@s-dew yes, homecoming is also a brilliant song and probably my second favourite song on the album
I just realized my voice is clipping a bit, it must have happened when I exported it. Oh well. Put up with it.
Completely agreed with you on number 3
Loved how you used Hitchin' a ride for the 2nd album
My top 3 Green Day albums are...
3. Warning
2. 21st Century Breakdown
1. American Idiot

I personally love Revolution Radio, but I can understand why it's on the lower half of this list. It's pretty safe, but I truly think it's some of the band's most solid and well-rounded albums.
Spagett BITCH ME TOO, THATS THE SAME THING I THOUGHT
It's my favorite one from them for some reason. It's really solid and resonated with me.
Spagett i 100% agree
I mean Bang Bang is probably one of their best songs of all time in my opinion
Hell, it's the album that got me into Green Day!

I love 39 smooth
Oh Nimord is my number one. So underrated honestly. Happy to see someone so into it and Warning.
SAME.
Prosthetic Head is actually the best closing track ever
I love both of them
YOU PUSHED ME ONCE TOO FAR AGAIN
Nimrod is so goddamn good
I must respectfully disagree with you when you say Dookie can’t be listened to all the way through. At least for me that is far from the truth as I do it almost ritualistically. Opinions tho
Couldn’t agree more, definitely prefer their older grungier stuff if you will. The 4 albums I listen to a lot are 39 smooth, kerpkunk, Dookie and Insomniac
My number one is Nimrod. e
Dookie is my favorite album
Yeah I listen to every album (minus the trilogy) all the way through. Nimrod is definitely my favorite but all of them are amazing if you listen to them as an experience. I really like Revolution Radio as an album but sometimes the non-single songs alone sound meh but when you’re listening to them all together.
It’s such a perfect sound that they found for that album. That’s what I love about it. They didn’t need to change the sound from song to song. I could listen to 10 albums with that album’s sound and never get tired of it.
I've never listened to a single Green Day album in my entire life, and am about to listen to nimrod after this comment. I'm kind of excited!
G.M.F what did you think of it?
@@twistedrazor4730 I liked this song, but I'm only a fan of Green Day's biggest hits so far.
G.M.F that’s fair. Some of their lesser known stuff isn’t for everybody and is kinda out there. Glad to hear that you liked it, though!
@@unagjac890 check out kerplunk. It's a better start than nimrod.
You should go on a Green Day marathon in chronology, and see how the boys evolved over the years. Start with 1039/Smooth, and then make your way through each album until you get to Father of All..Green Day’s latest album. I guarantee you should love all their 90’s material though, that for me was peak Green Day.
Nimrod is still their most underrated album
Insomniac and warning
Nah, the Trilogy are their most underrated albums.
I think most underrated is warning
Luke Bradford no.
Giorgos S4 yes
The best green day song:
I WAS A YOUNG BOY THAT HAD BIG PLANS

11: Dos
10: Uno
9: Revolution Radio - Its just kinda meh
8: 21st Century Breakdown - Its pretty good, but its still just not as good as others
7: 39/Smooth - I just like how its more punk than their other albums
6: Warning - This used to be one of my favorites, but honestly a lot of the songs are just kinda meh (I also agree that Misery is absolutely amazing)
5: Insomniac - Other than 39/Smooth and Kerplunk, this is their most punk album in my opinion
4: Nimrod - It just has a lot of really good songs (also I really dont like Time of Your Life)
3: American Idiot - I really really really like this album, but I think its a little overrated
2: Kerplunk - I'm honestly not sure why I love this album so much, I just do
1: Dookie - I agree with the complaint that all songs sound the same, but I still LOVE this album (its probably just nostalgia because its the first album of them I ever heard), and also
Longview is probably my favorite Green Day song
It was really hard to rank numbers 5-1
I personally thought that Revolution Radio was a really good album. I dunno if I rank it top 5, but it’s definitely close up there for me. I like all the songs on there except for maybe two that I really didn’t care for. The two probably being Say Goodbye and maybe Outlaws. Which honestly I don’t hate those two, they are just very skip able for me.
Father of all to the end of all the list please
Pretty much spot on man. But my #1 is insomniac.
I thought it was gonna be each individual song and I was like *oH weLl ThiS iS a BiT oF a ShOrt vIdeO*
I love 21st Century Breakdown the most out of all of their albums. And you dissed my favorite song of theirs, East Jesus Nowhere. But most of the list is on point, besides 21st Century Breakdown.
Malachi T I'm personally not a fan of 21st century breakdown, but I do like East Jesus Nowhere
21cb is so underrated. Everyone just writes it off as a pop clone of American Idiot, but it's so gooood
It is also one of my favorite albums from Green Day. But that is mostly because of the nostalgia is get from it.
East Jesus is a great song
imo the only bad songs on 21CB are Christian's Inferno and Murder City
Please do more of these I absolutely loved it.

Okay but I love reviews and ranked videos so I am excited. (Also I love how Green Day is still denying being The Network but we all know.)
Maybe you should rank MCR (despite the fact that there were only arguably five albums so it's tricky.) Also I don't know if you're a Smashing Pumpkins fan but that would be fun, considering the even mix of gems and arguable garbage.
Or you could rank the SpongeBob seasons.
Revolution Radio's chorus sounds like the Caillou theme song you can't tell me otherwise

seeing 39/smooth at the bottom shocked me tbh cuz it's one of my favorite albums 😭 the low production is what gives it its charm, in my honest opinion. its imperfect, and that's what i love about it
This is so weird...
I was always thought of Green Day as a 2000s band, I guess because of American Idiot.
But they actually had a lot of output in the 90s, more than in the 00s.
Their stuff on American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown overshadows most of their other work so I was shocked to find out that they've been making music since 1991
hearing you praise Misery so much was beautiful. My favourite green day song
Nimrod is my favorite. Prosthetic head is one of their most underrated song and Uptight is my favorite.
Prosthetic head is a hidden track that isn't hidden at all but just because good riddance comes before it seems as if that's the end of the album. I love prosthetic head and it's one of the best songs on the album

I was a sophomore in high school when it came out. i might have put Warning a couple more spots up but i agree "misery" is one of my favorite songs by them period. Cool video man.
Imo 39 smooth is the best because it is raw, angsty, guitar-driven, has pretty loud percussion and has more hard rock and grunge elements, plus it has some really good songs like At the Library, Rest, Don't leave me, I was there, and Disappearing Boy.

Revolution Radio is fine at 8th BUT has one of Green Day's best-written songs ever: Forever Now. Jesus Christ that is a fucking great song.
Found this review from one of your other videos. Your knowledgeable about the genre and very personable. My primary critiques would be that I would have liked to hear more elaboration on the instrumentation/musical elements of the albums and why you liked/disliked them, as well as that you tended to reuse some of the same vocabulary ('mediocre', 'confusing', 'interesting'). You did a good job expressing your opinions well ("I feel..." starting a lot of your important points), and I would definitely like to see more videos like this one. :)
Great channel, love your stuff, but Green Day wasn't founded in 86 with Tre Cool. First drummer was a guy named John Kiffmeyer.
:P
Nimrod is straight up my favorite. I can even give the song Take Back (which I can't stand) a pass just because the rest of it was so great. Jinx's transition into Haushinka still feels great, and so do the first two tracks, which are two of the 3 from the album that made Rock Band.
You cant stand take back?!
Take back is probably the worst song on it but it’s still not bad and it’s also really short so it doesn’t really bother me.
@@cowsareblue572 Even good albums have dubs.
Personally I would put Revolution Radio on Number 2 after Insomniac, because Green Day was the first band I really actively listened too, they're also the band that got me into rock and playing guitar. When I started listening to them (I was 13), their most recent album was the trilogy and like many people I didn't like it that much. So I was anxiously waiting for 2 years always hoping to see a new release by them and finally, Bang Bang and RR were released as singles and their album was announced. It was the first new album I was exited for, counting the days and waiting until midnight to listen to it the second it gets released. The album just has a special place in my heart.
their first three ep's are amazing too. 89's slappy is where they found their sound.

2. 1039 SOSH is a compilation album of the first 2 EPs and 39/Smooth, so it's really just a compilation
Man, i have never seen your other videos but I'm loving your worst to best list. Keeo saying what you think, there are no such thing as universal truth etc. Keep the good work (39 smooth is top 4)
Before the Lobotomy is a crazy good Green Day song. They really try a lot of new things (7/8 section!) and the outro puts everything together so great! That song alone would bring 21st Century Breakdown up a few notches on my list.
12-10. Trilogy - don’t care for it.

Warning was an amazing album. I’d rather they overplay Macy’s day parade than time of your life. It’s a better song and actually fits with the “uplifting” vibe that people want from time of your life.
I really appreciate this video! I kinda get what you mean when you say oh love doesn’t sound like his angsty self but I personally don’t mind when bands become a little lighter in tone, yknow? I feel like the band became more secure and happy so they don’t really have those negative feelings to draw on, it’s cool as long as it doesn’t become too vanilla.
Idk I like outlaws and Youngblood

Now I wanna check out Nimrod even more
absolute best part of the video "for the two of you who dont know who green day is"
also, 39/smoothed is absolutely my favorite album of theirs, one of my favorites of all time.
