Did J.A.R. show up on the list at all? I know it wasnt technically a studio album track, but appeared on many greatest hits, singles and the Angus soundtrack. One of their best songs to not appear on an official studio album
Basket case is an undying song here in my country the Philippines every single radio station played it and also American idiot and Blvd of broken dreams.
They completely left off When It's Time and Fortunate Son, which were the only 2 songs written specifically for the American Idiot musical about a decade ago. When It's Time is a criminally underrated track, it's super melodic and romantic and has kinda become my relationship song cuz my 2nd date with my now gf was us going to see American Idiot at a local theater and the When It's Time scene was one of my favorite parts of the entire show
Pss, just as a heads-up, Favorite Son wasn't written specifically for the musical: it was intended to be on American Idiot, but it didn't make the cut and ended up being on Japanese pressings of the album as a bonus track, on Rock Against Bush vol. 2, and as a B-side to 21 Guns before being used in the musical.
I think we have the same taste! all the first besides Rest I absolutely love. I do think you have pay closer attention to the lyrics to fully appreciate how awesome their are. but I think that just describes Green Day in general, I think they are underrated in the same vein as Prince, yeas they get a lot of love but just not enough.
This was an awesome list. There are a bunch of placements that I differ on by a magnitude of 150+ spots (80 is No. 2 on my list, Rest is in my top 50), but I get excited any time I come across a list that surprises me in the top 25, and you can tell whoever made this list is a serious fan of the band and wasn’t just going through the motions.
My top green day tracks: 2000 light years away, Road to Acceptance,Green Day, J.A.R., Armatage shanks, Brat, Geek Stink Breath, No Pride, Panic Song, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, Nice Guys Finish Last, The Grouch, Scattered, Whatshername, Macys Day Parade, Android, No One Knows, Haushinka, 21 Guns, American Eulogy, Jesus Of Suburbia. 21st Century Breakdown, Viva La Gloria, Longview, Basket Case, Angel Blue, Minority, Stuck With Me.
They did. “Some content may be cut for time” the message that plays at the beginning of every video I do like this means just that...I don’t include every single song or else the video would be an hour long lol
13:29 "The lowest-ranked song on American Idiot is better than the highest-ranked song in your favourite band's catalog. That we can just define." So if we going off based my opinion you're saying that Domination by Pantera isn't as good as She's A Rebel? Dimebag is crawling out his grave to have a word with you.
When I saw burnout at number 2 I had to look this up, that’s been my favourite green day song for years and I don’t meet a lot of people who even put it into their top 30
If I was able to charge my phone wirelessly & there was a button 2 change the color of the light I'd buy 1 asap. I love anything that plays music & can be used as a night light.
I’m actually surprised we both like the same songs in the trilogy albums.I found myself loving Nightlife, Amy, Dirty Rotten Bastards and Kill The DJ the most. But overall, quite unimpressed with what they put out. They did the underrated ones dirty.Just because one’s underrated, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad song. Some just really need to understand this.Btw, great video! Was hoping you’d make more about Green Day because I fricking love them
"Macy's Day Parade" is my favorite GD song. VERY special place in my heart, so I'm kinda disappointed to see it at #50. But honestly, beyond that, I agreed with a lot of the rest of the Top 50.
How could they do that to Prostethic Head. One of their best edit: HOLY SHIT STUART AND THE AVE. AT 93, NO. edit 2: ¿Viva at 86, who made this list edit 3. They really said St. Jimmy is worse then Extraordinary Girl AND The Forgotten above Walking Contradiction?!??? edit 4: Huge respect to the author for putting Letterbomb at 1
Jesus of suburbia is number 1 for me. The modern day bohemian rhapsody if you will. However its not just that that puts it at number 1 for me it's the meaning behind the lyrics and how as you grow older the lyrics really resonate with you more
Holy shit I was NOT expecting Whatsername so high on this list I fucking love that song. Nobody ever talks about it. Justice for Whatsername! And Letterbomb at number 1? Wow. Really unexpected. A Great song though! I hate that Platypus is so low though, that should've been higher. Overall a much better list than I thought it would be- not great but not bad either.

Wow, what a coincidence that I made a personal "top 10 worst Green day songs" list a few days ago: 170: I Was a Teenage Teenager 169: Troublemaker 168: Loss of Control 167: Meet Me on the Roof 166: Walk Away 165: Oh Yeah! 164: Angel Blue 163: Fell For You 162: Fuck Time 161: 99 Revolutions Granted, I haven't listened to 1039/Smoothed out Slappy Hours alot, but I'm certain that all those songs are better than these. (Just my opinion) But yeah, I got really pissed at some of those lower rankings, like Carpe Diem, Dirty Rotten Bastards, Stray Heart, Wow! That's loud, Kill the DJ, Amanda, Missing You, Troubled Times, even Say Goodbye, come on!
@Jake Stein Fell For You, Fuck Time and 99 Revolutions are kind of okay, I guess, and even though Meet Me On The Roof can be catchy, I personally just don't really like Meet Me On The Roof or I Was A Teenage Teenager that much. Just my opinion.
I fear the lack of sanity they have to put Father of All over some of the best songs from Insomniac, Westbound Sign, Bab’s Uvula Who?, and Tight Wad Hill. All gems
I knew that either a song from American Idiot or Dookie would be number one because why wouldn't it. Those are like the 2 albums that everyone knows from Green Day. But that being said, Green Day has some really good albums, and while I do think American Idiot is a fantastic album, I do think there's songs that deserve way more attention than they have and this article proves it.
I think any list like this is hard, I have favorites on all albums and it sounds like everyone has different tastes. Green Day is my favorite band so I love so many!

Yes, these lists are very hard to read because in all honesty we want every song in the top 100!
Did J.A.R. show up on the list at all?
TVBnine fortunate??????
@@donvid8969 ah I see. But they still left it out of the ranking alongside when it's time
My favorite Green Day song will probably always be 21 Guns but that's probably definitely a minority opinion
Know Your Enemy is one of my favorite Green Day track
Noah Garcia Same
I don't understand the Know Your Enemy hate. It's repetitive yeah, but it sounds punk to me
Thank you. Someone that actually agrees with me.
Rusty James is excellent, I just love almost all Green Day songs
Thanks for taking my video suggestion, Jon.
Did they ever say 21st century breakdown? Like the title track
I want to give the person who made this list a hug and drop kick them at the same time
This was an awesome list.
My top green day tracks:
2000 light years away, Road to Acceptance,Green Day, J.A.R., Armatage shanks, Brat, Geek Stink Breath, No Pride, Panic Song, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, Nice Guys Finish Last, The Grouch, Scattered, Whatshername, Macys Day Parade, Android, No One Knows, Haushinka, 21 Guns, American Eulogy, Jesus Of Suburbia. 21st Century Breakdown, Viva La Gloria, Longview, Basket Case, Angel Blue, Minority, Stuck With Me.
They never mentioned Youngblood, thats one of my favorites
They did. “Some content may be cut for time” the message that plays at the beginning of every video I do like this means just that...I don’t include every single song or else the video would be an hour long lol
Beyond ARTV what did you think of that songs ranking
13:29 "The lowest-ranked song on American Idiot is better than the highest-ranked song in your favourite band's catalog. That we can just define."
So if we going off based my opinion you're saying that Domination by Pantera isn't as good as She's A Rebel? Dimebag is crawling out his grave to have a word with you.
14:58 love the Stanley reference!!
I’ve been on this channel for a week and I love it
I’m a really green day fan and I can not believe that Bouncing off the wall is on the 113th place. It’s an amazing song but it’s also very underrated😟
It’s only been a few years and people have already seem to have forgotten what a masterpiece Forever Now was
Say goodbye is my favorite song from that album
It deserves to be in the top 10.
I genuinely want to have a conversation with the writer...
How could they do that to Prostethic Head. One of their best
edit: HOLY SHIT STUART AND THE AVE. AT 93, NO.
edit 2: ¿Viva at 86, who made this list
edit 3. They really said St. Jimmy is worse then Extraordinary Girl
AND The Forgotten above Walking Contradiction?!???
edit 4: Huge respect to the author for putting Letterbomb at 1
I’m actually really happy to see Letterbomb at Number 1 ngl. Homecoming is my fav song by them and I would’ve liked to see it in the top 10.
Personally, No Pride is in my top 10, it's actually my favorite off of Insomniac.
Same. Whoever made this article i feel he just tryna be edgy
'No Pride'. Tell me about it! Top 10 for me too mate.
The writer(s) of this list didn't seem to care for "Insomnia" much at all
Did the author include Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? That song is so good tbh
They did--it was #97, above Let Yourself Go and below Dominated Love Slave
Happy to see some of my top 10 favorite Green Day songs also on the top 10 on this list.
That band is very awesome!!!!! My all time favorite band of my generation!!!!!!
The judges daughter placement LITERALLY got me so pissed hahaha
so I just listened through every single green day song and ranked them (Only took 13 hours) and it led me to search up some videos on this. Its really entertaining and I would strongly suggest you do it, its great to go back and listen to your favorite tunes and maybe find some new tunes that you never knew you liked. also HOW TF IS AMANDA LIKE 4TH WORST. Anyways, I love your green day content!
Edit: DID THEY FLIPPING PUT EVERY GOOD SONG FROM TRE IN THE BOTTOM 20 OMG. Walk away, dirty rotten bastard, amanda, three of my favorite songs from the entire trilogy. crazy
Though I pretty much disagree with 90% of this list, mad props to them for ranking "Having A Blast" at #69 lmao. Niiice.
Honestly, I forgive them the really bizarre takes at the bottom of their list because they put my two favourite Green Day Songs on rank 1 and 2.
Letterbomb is my fav haha. I'm legit happy now
Seemed like a pretty exciting list. Letterbomb is a decent song, but my favorite Green Day song of all-time is probably Before The Lobotomy.
Wow, what a coincidence that I made a personal "top 10 worst Green day songs" list a few days ago:
170: I Was a Teenage Teenager
169: Troublemaker
168: Loss of Control
167: Meet Me on the Roof
166: Walk Away
165: Oh Yeah!
164: Angel Blue
163: Fell For You
162: Fuck Time
161: 99 Revolutions
Granted, I haven't listened to 1039/Smoothed out Slappy Hours alot, but I'm certain that all those songs are better than these. (Just my opinion)
But yeah, I got really pissed at some of those lower rankings, like Carpe Diem, Dirty Rotten Bastards, Stray Heart, Wow!
You have the same Killers wallpaper on your phone as me, love it.
🖤
Ha, same.
I fear the lack of sanity they have to put Father of All over some of the best songs from Insomniac, Westbound Sign, Bab’s Uvula Who?, and Tight Wad Hill. All gems
Rusty James, judges daughter, and don’t leave me are amazing
When I come around at 32 can't believe it
I knew that either a song from American Idiot or Dookie would be number one because why wouldn't it. Those are like the 2 albums that everyone knows from Green Day. But that being said, Green Day has some really good albums, and while I do think American Idiot is a fantastic album, I do think there's songs that deserve way more attention than they have and this article proves it.
Yeah Letterbomb at no 1
The bottom of the list is a bit of a mess and I really think that “redundant” is one of the very best
I think any list like this is hard, I have favorites on all albums and it sounds like everyone has different tastes. Green Day is my favorite band so I love so many!
