The actual sound quality difference I thought was surprisingly little, almost shockingly so. However the big difference is in the amount of self noise. With the first indoor test the sound effectively reduced to silence during the pauses on the expensive mic whereas it was clearly noticeable in earbuds with the cheap one. That's what the pros are paying for but most content creators probably don't need. Oh, way more high frequencies were preserved with the wind protection on the expensive mic, so that's a consideration
The micro phonics on the Sennheiser microphones are definitely a bummer seeing as how stellar the overall sound quality is if you can handle or fix the cable noise
@@SimonMas you have to do a loop around the cable close to mic, and stick it to the body so it don't move too much... its like a whole youtube episode I can do about that and I will lol
The expensive microphone sounds better, but not "I'd pay 70 times the price" better. I'd have to see how they deal with wear and tear, but as I've seen, the cheap one is a better buy, specially if you add some post-production.
Yeah I did not expect this $10 mic to be so good actually 🙄 I mean I’m trying to get the best sound and picture and everything for my clients and now RUclips, but yeah, kinda shocking
There’s no difference any more. I use a rode lav mic and also rented various high end lavs and other various mics for short films. If you use the AI on Davinci resolve then also use the AI from adobe there is no difference in final quality between the cheap rode and expensive mics.
For the perspective of an independent small time content creator, when the price difference is this vast, there is no world where the 700 wins. If even the build quality is not up to standards. I can buy 70 of them for the price of one and the audio quality is not that bad.
finally someone giving a really pro view on a subject like this!
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Second mic sound better as it is but after processing difference is minimal, good news for content creators 🎉
Would have been good to test louder voice, maybe yelling , if one of the features is handling volume up to 134db
Thank you for the comparison! Do you have a link for the $10 lav? It would be nice to pick up a couple backups just in case.
The cheapest one on Amazon, it was really like 10 or 11 $. I’m not sure if RUclips will be happy with putting some links :(
@@nikitamiroshnikov I think I found it based on its appearance, so it worked out.
Difference on RUclips is insignificant
yeah :(

Yes! And durability and other features 🙌🏻
Have you got them in the correct position?
Yep
You can buy 3.5 to XLR adapters on the cheap. Not an advantage

Yes! And the sound matches perfectly with my sennheiser mkh 50. But the cable noise man. I did not expect that…
@@nikitamiroshnikov how do you go about reducing cable noise? i don't think it's really doable, unless you never move the cable...

The DPA sounded so much better and cleaner. But the price, well...
Yeah 🥲

🥺 yeah. I think only for movie sets it’s still matters. But not for content creators 🤷♂️
Chello, I am Misha. Nice to meet you (Russian accent). 😊🙏💙
;)
I’m sorry but for 10 bucks!!! Jesus! It’s good when compared to a 700$ mic!
Yeah 🥲
