wow. I looked these guys up because my sister really likes Visual Kei rock and she was telling me that the guys who influenced it all were a band called X Japan. So I decided to look them up and I can totally see how they influenced other generations. They have that epic quality you vary rarely find in rock bands. True classics. They had performance and ability to write epic songs. This was a cool post. Thanks for introducing me to something new.

Hmm....I got this song off of "Ten Most Beautiful Songs" list...the lyrics made me want to cry...
I don't believe in perfection. I never tend to use this word. But after listening this song... Nothing has been closer to perfection, than X Japan and this song... Love it.

Japan went on a standstill after lead guitarist Hide died. That's how legendary they are in Japan. (Not in the west)
The band has sold over twenty million records and over two million home videos as of 2007. If you dont like the song, then dont listen to it, but dont disrespect and generalise just because all you ever heard is Dragonforce(1999-Present)

They are all exceptionally good at what they do. THE greatest? No. Some of the greatest? In my opinion, yes. And it's not just how well they play, it's HOW they play. They are a legend, they deserve some fucking respect. Dragonforce was nowhere around when X-Japan hit the scene in the 80's. They are HUGE in Japan, just like Metallica was HUGE here in the U.S.
Actually I think a couple of songs were written by hide: Scars, Celebration, Miscast, Joker, Love Replica, and Drain. All the rest were written by Yoshiki who is a GENIUS

I feel like any good words I'd say about this song cannot ever describe its beauty and greatness.
So, in short: the song is EPIC, the live performance is brilliant, the band is awesome, and Yoshiki is greatest drummer\pianist\composer ever.

It's amazing how they always seem not to be even a bit tired when they are. (just look at Yoshiki!) I think it's because they play for such a long time - they are used to it.
yoshiki you crazy, you can have what. The beautiful melody. The piano skills and strength to the drum You are not human then.
Yeah I hear he lives in Woodland Hills, has a business downtown, and always goes to the Dir en Grey concerts whenever they come to Los Angeles. Dir en Grey is actually performing on the 20th and 22nd of November at the House of Blues if anyone is interested.

They always do what they should...
I am sure he speaks some english to be able to pronounce many things in this song, but I agree he has a very heavy accent and I know for a fact that any language is hard to learn from one who doesn't speak it as their main. I think he sounds great for that and has a wonderful voice. Anyone who thinks differently is obviously just jealous.

This is not the first time I watch this video as well as Part 1-3 too. I'm a metal fan all my life with Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Deicide, Cryptopsy, Dimmu Borgir and all. But X-Japan deserves a special place. Seriously. Somewhere higher than the rest in terms of composition, creativity, passion and dedication.

wow I can't even believe people even think of comparing X JAPAN and dragonforce! WTF? This band is legendary and this song is a testament to their greatness. Dragonforce is a joke...they can't even play their own songs live, yet X JAPAN comes back after 10 years and plays this song LIVE. I don't even see the basis of that comparison. Endless Rain, Tears, Rose of Pain etc etc, there isn't a single song that can combine melody and emotion so well.

I consider each member, even the late hide, to be amongst the most technically skilled musicians in the world from the birth of music to the current date (07/07/2011 3:56 AM) and onward. Yoshiki, amazing drummer/pianist and song composer. Possibly the #1 greatest drum player in the world and I would make him the #4 greatest piano player in history considering that he took "wrong" notes and made them a part of the song with meaning behind them.
