For those who wonder why there is a speech in the beginning and no applause at the end: this concert was conducted on April 17th, 2014. On the previous day there was a disastrous accident in which a ferry named Sewol carrying more than 300 passengers (many of which were teenagers) sank in the middle of the sea and took lives of many.
It truly breaks my heart. Back then (around the time when this video was taken) we had hoped that there would be more survivors, possibly trapped in air pockets. Every one of us wished for the tiniest bit of miracle, wished that those precious lives come back safely any soon to their family, then waiting day and night red-eyed at the wharf.
Miracle, there were not.
