This is super helpful! I used to be with Laka but when I bought a second road bike, the price jumped up massively so I'm now with Pedalsure and their multi-discount is great. I commute on super sketchy roads and lots of colleagues have had accidents so for me it's well worth it. Need to read through the fine print again as both bikes live in my locked garage but not sure if they need to be locked up within it as well! Thanks again :)
Hey Philippa! Great to hear that you found the video useful. From my understanding I think the bikes will need to be locked in the shed with one of the approved locks form pedalsure. Safe riding on those sketch roads.
Thanks for including us Jourdain. It's pronounced Bik-mo but don't worry, we get bike-mo... A LOT! We've just released some new videos ourselves which you can check out over on our channel. Keep up the good videos and happy riding 🚴
Hey Bik-mo... I honestly felt bad when I was editing. I didn't realise I kept saying bike-mo until I watched in back!! Thank you for commenting and watching. i'll checkout the videos on your channel 👌🏾
@@JourdainColeman hello there sir, what would be the case for someone who may be robbed for a bike whilst cycling or sitting in a park with the bike so for that instance would a crime reference number suffice?
Big thanks J I am looking for bike insurance because my Bianchi is only 3 weeks old and with all my kit and bits worth £3500 so this video was 100% on it much respect 🙏🏿👌🏿
Thanks for looking into the fine details, comparing the insurers and what they offer. I've not got any insurance myself as it costs more than my car insurance 😱, so I close the webpage and price it up a few months later and repeat 😂. I really should get some though, not just for theft, but damage from a crash and it being my fault also 🤔.
Hey Scott! thanks for commenting. It's an interesting topic for sure. I don't have any yet either but after looking through the insurance packages I will likely get some. I feel the price is a little easier to swallow with multiple bikes. Having said that, it's crazy that it's more than your car insurance, that just seems upside down to me. And there is no chance of it getting any lower. I'll let it stew in my mind for a few weeks and see where my brain takes me. 👍🏽 Safe riding, friend!!
I’ve just bought a new Ribble and opted for their Pedalsure 30 day deal however it says in the small print I need a Sold Secure GOLD lock, I have a Kryptonite ‘Silver’ standard lock but I will have to get the gold one which is irritating but not an issue. My question is however this I’ve looked at gold standard U locks an will probably get one with a cable, if I secure the U lock to the frame and the cable to a gold standard wall bracket (this looks like the best way because of space) will I be ok or is the lock that carries the standard? As a matter of interest I’m not interested in racing, cycling abroad or leaving the bike anywhere, I’m just interested in 3rd party liability, getting knocked off or crashing etc. sorry for the long post! 😎
Thanks Jourdain really helpful info, quick question: if you got hit by a car and driver just drove away does any insurance cover that, not sure if it comes under an accidental damage option ?
I would have thought that the insurance company would cover that. One thing that I have seen from all threse companies in this scenario is... you need a crome number. So when it happens call the police and make sure it is reported. Otherwise they may may not. You probably could get it covered on accidental damage as well though. Sorry to hear that happened to you.
so i recently had my rad runner plus e bike stolen from the frist floor of my apartment complex in there media room because the elevators weren't working i locked it up with a foldable lock idk wht they did to steal it but there was metal shards on the ground where it was before in that situation is that coverd? there was cameras too
I'm with cycle plan...I crashed, an split my carbon frame...it's a £7,400 bike...the reviews I'm reading are terrible, I want to make sure I get a payout but after reading the reviews it looks like they're gonna make any excuse not to pay me ...any advice on how to deal with this going forward?
Hi Kaine, sorry to hear that you had a crash, hopefully there are no serious injuries? As for the payout, what makes you think they won't pay? If it covers crash damage then you should be ok, right? Either way, get all the info you need make the claim and see where it goes, is it just the frame that is damager or is the bike a write off? Hopefully it all gets resolved and you get back on the road quickly!
Interested into multi mountain bike/ combined policies. I have 1x mountain bike and 1x ebike. (Mountain bike approx £1,500 and ebike is £3,700) Both brand new Any information on this?
Hi Jez, you should be able to to do multi bike policies for sure. And I believe the second bike is discounted (it's been a while since I looked into it all). My advice would be to give the a call and see what they can do for you. Either way it's worth getting insurance when your bikes are that value.
Potentially, you will need to read the fine print. I think the shed may beed to be locked to receive the pay out. Don't quote me on that as I'm not 100% sure.
To be honest I'm not 100% sure how that would work. I would have thought it would be covered if it's in a locked car. You could always reach out to one of the companies and ask. Maybe your car insurance would cover that??

Bikmo? What is your policy on theft without lock whilst present with the bike..robbery
Big thanks J I am looking for bike insurance because my Bianchi is only 3 weeks old and with all my kit and bits worth £3500 so this video was 100% on it much respect 🙏🏿👌🏿
No worries Carl! Great to hear that you have a new Bianchi. This video is very relevant for you right now 👌🏾 - How are you finding the bike?

Brilliant video. Now I will def get my bike & body insured
Thanks Alistair, glad the video was helpful 👍🏽
Thanks for the help. Decided to go for Sundays myself and its just under £10 a month for my ebike with all cover
Glad I could help... that's a good price to have everything covered!
How are you finding Sundays? Hopefully you’ve not had to make a claim but if you have did it go smoothly?
@Fredd165 haha I've been trouble free so far. Just needed to pickup on chain maintenance to be honest. Almost 200 miles in
Great info there as I'm about to get an e-bike and the roads & traffic have changed somewhat the last few years since I last cycled . 👍
Glad it was helpful! 👍🏽
I have a 2000 dollar e-bike so I decided to get insurance because I love my bike and I plan to get more bikes
Well explained. Thank you for comparing the insurance companies. Subbed👐
Hey friend! Glad the video was helpful 👍🏽
Thank you for comparison… and I’m just need these information but may I ask about “Pedal Cover” … is ok not bad as well?

if im riding my bike and someone steals it do i get insured on it
Tgank you for your effort
are you covered if you get robed by someone while on the bike?
I'm not 100% sure but I'm going to say that you are. Just make sure you get a crime number, insurance companies will usually ask for that.

Check out ETA bike insurance, they do things differently

No problem
Do we get the money back if the bike is not locked and stolen from shed but everything is recorded on cctv??
Potentially, you will need to read the fine print. I think the shed may beed to be locked to receive the pay out. Don't quote me on that as I'm not 100% sure.
Can I get theft insurance for my Segway es3 plus e scooter also??
Some of these insurances don't extend to escooters or even certain kind of ebikes so always check by email.
Is your bike covered if it is stolen from inside your car that is locked but you bike isn't locked?
To be honest I'm not 100% sure how that would work. I would have thought it would be covered if it's in a locked car. You could always reach out to one of the companies and ask. Maybe your car insurance would cover that??
Some segments in the video are stamped not adjacent to each other
What do you mean, sorry? The timestamps aren't correct? I've had a look and they all seem good 👍🏽
