Hi I've just found your video on the Downs Link. I work at the Bluebell railway in Sussex hence my interest in this path.
The nearest part from me is West Grinstead Station off the A272 where I've been recently
Local Guildford lad and going to give this route a go soon. Enjoyed watching this video, and the commentary, you’re a happy chap 👍🏻😀
@@drpoosdaddy2664 hey thanks a lot!! 😀
Neil, it’s a great video all done my friend. Best thing on RUclips. I’ve watched for a long time.👏
Ah thank you so much!! 😀
I had a great time cycling this route. Great video man
Just did this ride last weekend with a mate. Def a MTB route. Wouldn't want to touch this route in the winter. Thanks for the video.
I have ridden a fair part of it, shoreham to Gatwick a few times, can't imagine it would be bad in winter?.. though not done Guildford yet...thing is I go there and back 9hate trains) and its a long old day...🙂
Brilliant video Neil. I think that I would like to do that track.
Thanks Carrie! Get it done 🤙🏻
I was shouting at the screen when you took a right early on !!! Glad you got back on track as it is a great flattish ride
😂😂😂 I know right!!
Just been down the downs links to christs hospital and back to Guildford for the first time can’t believe you went off track such an easy route
😂😂😂😂 I know!!!!
That house you pass at 20.16 is Dave gilmours from pink Floyd I'm a brightonion so I do the marina to king Alfred ride quite a lot and them massive tyres will be for Brighton and hove boxing club which you passed
That’s cool! 😎
Smashed it Neil, love it! 🌟
Thanks Ellie!!!!! My longest ride 😀🤘🏻
Well done but anyone doing it, start from the bottom of Guildford. High Street is one way
Nice one! We have an old railway track which is now a cycle path on the Yorkshire coast between Scarborough and whitby its 43 miles there and back with most of the climbing on the way back, I've done it loads of times on the acoustic whip but really fancy trying it on the kenevo, it would be nice having fish and chips in whitby without spewing them up on the first climb on the way back lol
Ah sounds good mate! Yeah I had such a great ride with awesome weather! Brighton was packed so didn’t hang around for long, just jumped on the train home 👍🏻
Disclaimer: going to Brighton over the glass bridge in Shoreham High street. is the wrong way.
Rock on Neil.
Get in the miles🤙🏿⚡
Thanks mate!!!! Hope you are well 🤙🏻
Great day out! I enjoyed that. But you need to get yourself a Garmin 🤣 It'll give you directions, and tell you how many miles you've done etc 💪👍
Morning Laura! Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!! And yes maybe a Garmin is next on my shopping list…. 😂 🗺
The signs are for the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton off-road bike ride I did 2 weeks ago. If you followed them you would have got to Brighton but that route takes you through lots of technical ascents and downhills until Cranleigh then takes you back on to the disused railway track.
If they're for an event held 2 weeks ago why haven't they been removed? It's a form of litter.
@@vatsmith8759 Its held yearly, but I believe other events/Charities use that same route, so its used enough to not warrant taking down 60+ miles of signs and putting them back up after every event.
@@kyohimura3911 Hmm, I'm not convinced (don't permanent signposts need permission from the local authorities?) but in any case they should say what route it is they're signposting.
Top ride 👍
Hey there!! Thank you so much 😊 🤙🏻
Those neon signs must have been solar powered.
Nicely done Neil👍
Thanks Graham 😀
Nice one Neil! At 8.36 was where they filmed the next Star Wars film 😁 Shame you didn’t take in a few trails in the Surrey Hills🤘🤘
Thanks mate!!!! Hope you are well. Ah really? That was when I was heading in the wrong direction 😂😂 Surrey Hills is going to be one of my next vlogs for sure !!!! 🤙🏻⚡️🔋
@@NeilsEMTBWorld let’s have a ride there soon bro 🤘
@@TheBikePilot hell yeah!! Will get it sorted 😀
And it's where Pilgs and Brendog filmed that bonkers 'off the van roof' vid ruclips.net/video/v8GZz9S9lYY/видео.html I'm not sure whether that's what triggered the installation of the bollards that deny vehicle access now
@@grahamsmith9788 oh yeah I saw that video 😂😂
Did you have to go on any roads on this route or was it all off-road? :)
There's a couple of very short road sections, out of the 38 miles less than 2 miles is road. Did it both ways on Monday in 6 hrs 30 mins.
OiOi Neil, V good great vid ❤️ Neil M
Good morning! Thank you so much! 😀😀
Epic, Im gonna have to come down and do this at some point.
How was getting the train back?
I would recommend it mate! Weather permitting obviously 😂 Train was ok, one change at Gatwick then home, about 1 hour 30 mins 👍🏻
Stop shouting 🤣🤣 good vid but had to turn audio down 🤣
Thats because u were wearing a neon Helmet & Shades
What mode did you ride in mate?
Hey man!! Eco all the way, and totally unassisted for about 5 miles or so 🥵
@@NeilsEMTBWorld jheeez!!
How long did it actually take you to ride this?
Hey Matthew… with the detour 5 hours 30 minutes 🤩
how many miles is it mate
Morning Paul! It’s around 42 miles 😀
Think I'll get a bit fitter for this so I'll do it in 2032
@@paulstanley518 go for it mate! It’s a cracking ride
