I did this today on my 08 TL base, it now has a much quicker throttle response.
Mine had a pretty good amount of slack so I needed to tighten it almost all the way, my idle rpm is around 750rpm after warmed up so no issues there.

@@yungkendy6002 tighter. Not too tight, but you can make it tighter so the throttle has less slack before it starts pulling
I have a 2004 acura TL. Is there a way to raise the Rev-limiter? I have read that you can't change the ECU in the 04 but you can in a 07. Can you install a 07 ECU in a 04 TL.
Could it make a click when mashing on the gas if it's too loose
Cool, much appreciated MODS. I just bought a used 05 TL myself ad have already started digging into it and making a few mods with the help of all your videos.
I just tinted the windows out and ended up pulling the rims and getting them painted a satin black. Mines the same color as the one I've seen in all your vids
I do have a question though, what're you using for Bluetooth? I had to pull the HFL because mine too had the drainage bug, since removal I've had no issues. I know the HFL doesn't support music playback... But that's one thing I'm really wanting in it. Any advice would be most appreciated.
I think under the arms rest, open it up. There should be a 3.5 aux port. You can use a Bluetooth to 3.5 to make it wireless.

Can you explain me better please since you did it already. I have my Acura TL 3.2 base model 2007 and the Acceleration is really poor. So do you loose it more or you make It tighter ?
@@yungkendy6002 you have to tighten the wire so there is no slack in the dip for the wire to react once you press the acceleration peddle. If pause and follow all steps in video should be able to do it with no problems!

I watched your other video about cleaning the throttle body, i did everything you told me to, from checking the boot (which was ripped) to cleaning the throttle body, and replacing both boot and air filter. During that time i decided to adjust the throttle cable. (Not realizing i probably should of started the car after the new install, before messing with the throttle cable). After experimenting i put it back to how it was because my cars idle was wayyyy to high. Even after putting it back my rpms are at 1300 in park/neautral and change to 900 when i put the car in drive. Now i have a check engine light with code P0507 and i cant find any vacuum leaks
you need to reset the throttle position with a scanner i have a few in my store that can fix that .

Can you do a video soonnnnn on info about rim specs & lowering. The process and what we need to know and do and get?? I have no idea how to start. I want rims i know i want to lower it so i know i need coilovers but is that it? Will it be safe to drive.

Thanks this helped a lot. I had a question on a separate topic currently doing a 3 *3 trans fluid change for an 04 TL currently did 2 and replaced pressure switches 3 and 4 but the car still is not shifting as smoothly any ideas what l should troubleshoot next? Thank you!

can you actually over do it? I was on the E-way tonight and hit the throttle like halfway and it downshifted like I was punching it to the floor... plus it seems that my idle is a tad bit high.

how many miles does your car have, and have you changed timing belt? I have 07 TL type-S 105k, haven't done belt.

@fabolousg4ever thank you for this video and your knowledge man, just traded my base tl (6 speed) for a 2008 auto type s and it felt so sluggish i was thinking type s was slow as shit...tried this a few times and got it positioned at the perfect throttle response of my liking..beware!!! Do not loosen the first nut all the way..rpms on park will be around 2k rpms lol

Hey I have a related question. I have 07 Tl - 110k miles. When I have my car in reverse then switch to drive and try to accelerate right away, the whole car moves a little then jerks or "bucks" forward a bit. Is that bad?

Great video! I had an F150 where the throttle cable broke. I used a rope and ran it through the window. Drove it 15 miles home. Wouldn't recommend it though, scetchy as hell.

Hey man I'm having a problem with my 08 auto.. the car shifts smoothly and has 91k miles on it but when the car is in 5th gear it will not rev past 2k rpms no matter how hard I press the accelerator.

Pedal sensor being bad will make the car stop driving but idk if it will stop it from starting.

this cable is connected to the pedal position sensor it sends a signal to the throttle body when the gas pedal is pressed
I want to do this right now but someone also said just tightening it up can cause the throttle to be open before you even put your foot on the gas

My check engine light turned on after this I think it was because I forgot to clip the wire back on and started my car... i put connected the clip but the check engine light is still on what should I do? Thanks
just unplug the battery for like 5 minutes and it will reset the code but first make sure you have your radio and navi codes for the radio.
You could just drive smoothly for 100-150 miles and it will go off. My coolant reservoir top busted. Didn’t notice til it was empty and the check engine came on because it started to run hot. So I replaced the whole reservoir thinking it would go off, but nope. But I had no problems at all afterwards. I waited a day or two going to work and it just turned off
These sensors are prone to go haywire and cause jerky throttle responce or even go out completely and leave you stranded, for a $150 part i plan on replacing mine soon
Waffeey replace it will make a huge diffrernce yup they arer known to go bad.
Waffeey just replaced mine and starter she drives like a brand new car.

What kinda car is this? That looks like a little motor for the cruise control. And it's pretty far away from the throttle body. Looks like a V6 Honda.
What happens if you attempt this fix and you make your car's idle become higher? Is it too tight; cord pulled back too far

Is anybody else having a malfunction with the passenger door sensor when you make a left turn or simply drive through a pothole? I drive a Tl 07 and I had to disconnect the sensor because it was driving me crazy!!

just replace door jam sensor super easy.
I had that and just pulled the sensor out and placed some card behind it to push it forward.
charged the customer an said a transmission solenoid went bad. 😂😂. . . . just messin haha i always check the cable in my new cars to make sure i got no slack.

After I did this my check engine light came on.
Did u connect back the connector u probably didn't cause this doesn't cause a check engine light unless it hasn't been done right.

LOL !!! This does not make it faster. Its just for a faster response time when u hit the gas.. LOL..... same thing with "brake pedal" (making it more sensative)....
So you are telling me that when my throttle is delayed by a whole second due to slack, and after tightening it my 0-60 goes down by a second, that my car has not gotten faster. Right. He didnt say more HP, didnt say increase top end speed, just that the car will become faster than it was before (which is true).
