Carina. Same. One practitioner mumbled Periformis under his breathe and never said it again. Years and years and no one has applied the correct term. Some people really like to keep you stupid! It is very annoying. I'm going to a health centre with all kinds of practitioners but there really is a lack of good illustrations or a skeleton to refer to anywhere. I'm not sure what the aim is there... this is in France. No confidence in chiropractors that is for sure, they just don't exist here anyway.

Hi Bob & Brad! I've been suffering from Piriformis syndrome since September 2018. I couldn't walk up or down stairs, I couldn't stand up from being seated without help, I tried everything on the internet and was going to my MD for a referral to a PT who helped me last year with this on the other side! My MD was sick and I had to reschedule, so I didn't get any help. We had a terrible rain here, IN DECEMBER! Then it froze solid. My horses were in terrible danger of slipping on the ice that covered the earth. I had to shovel dry horse manure from the barn, to cover the ice, in an area to confine them. It took me all day, but I counted how many shovels full and aprox. weight of each shovel. I estimate that I lifted over 2 tons in one day! This kind of heavy work is not new to me, as I have been and extreme athlete all my life, and heavy work and workouts are not new for me. I collapsed from exhaustion last night after this, feeling happy the horses were no longer in danger of falling and breaking legs or hips! When I woke up this morning, MY EXCRUCIATING PIRIFORMIS PAIN HAS GONE DOWN TO ABOUT 2% OF WHAT IT WAS! I am not telling people to do what I did, but I couldn't find anyone to help me, and could not allow the horses to be in mortal danger! It showed me what I have always known and that is to try and work out your body's pain, in ways you know you have done all along. It seems I nearly cured my unbearable pain! Now, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT EXERCISES TO DO, TO STRENGTHEN THIS AREA SO I WILL NOT GET PIRIFORMIS SYNDROME EVER AGAIN! If you could comment on this, I would love to hear what you have to say, and LOOK FORWARD TO HOPEFULLY SEE THE EXERCISES YOU RECOMMEND, TO STRENGTHEN THIS AREA! MUCH THANKS!

Did either of you ever have PS syndrome? Im 57 and it is most pain I have ever felt in my life. I cant even walk. It came on all of a sudden after nagging back pain for 2 weeks. I have had it for 3 weeks now, had injections and still cant walk right. Heat, Ice, massage, stretch, repeat, repeat. The constant pain that's a 10 that does not go away is insane. Im just now trying your stuff, so we will see.....

Informative......but you guys didn't address the instability in the hips that causes the problem in the first place.......That needs to be adressed first, so that the imbalances are corrected prior to stretching and strengthening.

Help please any advice! . I herniated my disc by carefully squatting down with both legs then leaning forward to pick up some mail of the floor and "pop!" . Its been one week of laying flat on a reclining sofa and mc kenzy exercises etc . I believe ive managed to re absorb my herniation . I also suffer with DDD. My problem now is this....I have a belly full of fear with legs like jelly at times and I am petrified to bend over or move as normal , in fear my fragile disc will blow out again .I'm moving about like a walking ironing board due to fear and in confidence. How do I get over this ? How can I test my ability to bend and put my socks on without blowing my disc again ?

Please start sending your study to urologists worldwide . Please !
    Men get so
Many issues in the pelvic area and doctors and urologists do not even consider this .
    Years of torture .. how
Many men have taken their lives ?
It doesn’t just cause pain , urinary issues are torture .
    How
Many men have taken their lives beacause of this ?
U go to the urologists who
    Are
    Supposed to help
You .. and u end up spending thousands and get nowhere being told they can’t help you .

I am sorry that you have problems with getting a urologist to help you.
I am a woman so don't have the same issues as men but am familiar with incontinence.
If a urologist can't help you, please have your insurance company work with your primary care physician so that you can be referred to another specialist. Urologist will only address bladder urthra ( the tube - I didn't spell it right) and other urinary parts only, even if incontinence is a symptom.
Best wishes. It's not easy for either a man or a woman to deal with urinary issues. I have long ago stopped beating up on myself or consider taking my life. It's not a crime to be unwell. It is a crime to take ones life.

Hopefully this can help someone. Please try it!
If you do a video, please coin it the 'TT piriformis stretch' :)
The stretches that give me instant and most relief, and can be done in
    bed:
1a. Lay with knees pointed up and feet close to butt about shoulder
    width apart.
1b. On the side of pain, rotate the knee inward so that the bottom of
the foot is parallel with the body.
1c. Put the other leg, foot, or ankle over knee of the side of pain to
hold it down for the stretch.
It'll feel great and will stretch not just the piriformis but the entire
butt and hip and lower back.
2a. Lay with knees pointed up and feet close to butt about shoulder width
    apart.
2b. On the side of pain, drop the knee so that it points forward and the
foot is next to the hip.
2c. Take your hand and push upward on the foot.
It'll feel great and will stretch not just the piriformis but the entire
butt and hip and lower back.
I've experience sciatic pain from my butt down to my toes possibly due
to excessive sitting at my work and hill hiking.
The figure 4 stretch sometimes work, but not always. My butt will spasm
and tighten up throughout the day.
What I became aware of is I sit crossed legs in a butterfly manner a
lot, to take pressure off the pain, but it was making it worse. The
stretches above puts the muscle in the opposite direction and the next
    day I was pain free.

Can you do a video about multiple sclerosis and leg strengthening and how to improve drop foot and how to correct how you step when you walk. I walk heal toe on one foot and to heal on the other. I do not pick up that foot/leg/knee very good either it is on the left side. And what can you do for spasticity and other things MS related. I just started the Coimbra protocol and have been on it 29 days today, my walking has improved since starting it. I just want to make sure I am doing all I can.

Hi there. Thank you very much for your videos. I am trying to do the leg stretch as you showed in this video, but I can feel a lot of clicking in my lower back. I have been having this lower back issue for quite some time, and I wonder if it is the cause of my gluteus tension on my left side. On the same leg I had strained calf muscle few months earlier. I just wonder what am I having exactly. I am so annoyed of this condition. I wonder if you could suggest a specific video to watch to fix my problem.

I had this but thinking it was a sciatica. Much more intense than sciatica. It's still not resolved, but better.Very painful for me to sit or stand or lay down. Pivoting is impossible. Have to make a "3-point turn" Kneeling is ok and the least painful way to get up and down. I have to have something to hang on to.
This is an awful awful pain. I hit my foot on a piece of furniture while vacuuming. The foot hurt alot and was bruised, but the pain in my hip/buttocks and leg were like nothing I've ever experienced before.
Heat and ice packs. Lacrosse ball massages. Creams potions and pills and 90 days later it's a little better. I can't walk more than 5 mins without left foot going numb.
Lots of physical therapy and I will be good to go.
Best wishes. I went from not knowing I had a piriformis, to being aware of it 24/7 !!!! 😂 Funny/not funny lol

That is a good question. I am not sure but I am sure a Physician would easily answer that.

Finally found what I have been dealing with for 5 months now. Watching many videos. I hurt myself in the gym doing leg stretches on a machine that has weights. I feel I over did myself causing this pain. I also for a long time sit on my right leg when going out to dinners. The same leg causing the issues. Glad I found this video. NOW the only problem I see is watching the video that has a lot of background noise while you guys are explaining things, and the video is not that great. Anyway of making another video of this.
