I just completed the hack for the second time last night. I defeated the final boss on my 2nd try because I diamondized him. I almost felt jipped because I didn't get to spend 30 minutes listening to this song.

Toby Fox is a genius, he was able to add even a little almost forgetable trace of the original Megalovania to the Ultimate Megalovania 1:08 - 1:42 i have found a perfectly fit background melody based on this part in the Smash Ultimate version of Megalovania
I deadass thought the jumps in tempo perfectly reflected just how distorted, how disgustingly distended Andonuts had become, and this song being a reflection of his uncontrollable rage.
Something interesting I found is how different the two versions of Megalovania are. The one in Undertale is like as if Sans is using all his power to beat you, but this version is like as if both you an Andonuts are just soulless people fighting for almost nothing.

i actually beat andonuts by just somehow crystallizing him halfway through the battle before he got a chance to use psi bitchkill even i was at like level 12 and i didnt even have any spells that caused crystallization i was spamming pray during the id segment (i was hoping for rainbow light because all my party had died and i'd only managed to amass enough mp via magnet to revive paula) but i stopped when the final boss segment began

it's because of how the music files export from SNES9X. for whatever reason, when it gets converted into WAV, the first few notes get cut off- or so they say.
@@spacehunternebulanm7003 that's indeed true 🤪 I, myself, ripped the SPC files of those songs from ZSnes instead last year (but from Arn's Winter Quest and Hallow's End instead, the full OSTs of which I have uploaded by now), and when I was already a few seconds into the song, the same thing happened as in this audio, and that's how I subsequently learned how to time the SPC rip, so that no notes are missing at all in the final SPC file when I convert it to .wav

I liked Megalovania before it became cool, But then I forgot about it until I found the Undertale one a couple years later.

Its 16-bit but it does have 8-bit instruments

yup! As far as i know the chronology of Megalovania goes like this:
1-Toby "radiation" Fox composed Earthbound's Megalovania
2-Homestuck's Megalovania
3 - Undertale's Megalovania
so we could say it's Toby Fox's signature song!😉
(but Earthbound's Megalovania it's just on the Earthbound Hack version, not in the 'original' Earthbound. It was still the first time the song was heard tho)
