I can sorta see why Toby disowned this. At its worst it's kinda edgy and hasn't aged well, but the ambition and technical prowess in regards to the music and main plot is fascinating.
It definitely laid the ground-work for Undertale. And while Toby hates it now, it was the start of something much larger that his 2008 self would have never thought about.

I can say without exaggeration that I overpowered his ass. I'm serious, I had to only use two Hawaiian Pizzas and NO horns of life. Varik was slicing the crap out of him, Poo was using PSI Lightning B almost every turn. Paula was freezing Andonuts all the time, and Jeff... ....Well, more on him later. Varik barely needed to be healed, I has the sol armor along with fire & h20 pendents, so I was able to get through the fire phase without problems. ....The water/ice phase on the other hand.... WAS EVEN EASIER. SEROUSLY, I HAD ANDONUTS NUMBED EVERY TURN OF THAT PHASE. And PSIBitchKill Omega was knocked right back at him thanks to Paula's psychic shield It did MILLIONS of damage to him, and even then Varik drained some of his PP, Now, it moved on to the final phase. This is when things actually got tough, Andonuts poisoned everyone except Varik, so I had to refill everyone's PP, heal everyone, and cure them all of their poison. Once that was done, I kept fighting, when... Jeff landed the final blow. I'm serious. Honest to God. Dr. Andonuts' son laid the final blow that killed him. Unbelievable.

B.H Pirkle once again only cares about his position as mayor (typicaly Mother series mayors :p), so he sends you, as a bounty hunter, to kill the "monster" talked around town (eventually suspected to be Andonuts, who mentions about killing his son before slowing down in fear of realizing you're going to kill him (you do)) as you enter his Magicant in the process, eventually getting the 3 kids who came from the timeline Giygas was actually defeated and they return, and then leading to this.
At the end of EarthBound, Dr. Andonuts sent Ness and his friends back in time so they could defeat Giygas. This resulted in a timeline split: in one timeline the kids came back to the present after defeating Giygas, and in the other they did not come back. Since the kids never returned, Andonuts mistakenly believed that they died in the past, and he blames himself for the tragedy and goes insane. He starts experimenting on animals and humans, creating freakish monsters that start attacking people in Twoson. A bounty hunter named Varik is hired to kill every last monster and find the source. When Varik confronts Andonuts in his lab, Andonuts retreats into one of his machines, locking himself away into his own Magicant. Varik is given the choice between killing Andonuts now, or following him into Magicant to uncover his repressed traumas (neglecting his son and wife, guilt over the kids' deaths, and denying his sexuality). After recruiting avatars of Paula, Jeff, and Pú from the alpha timeline, Varik confronts Andonuts one last time. The mad doctor begs Varik to leave and let him die in peace, but the player has no choice but to destroy his Id. After that, Andonuts strikes back with PSI in one grueling final boss battle. After he's killed, Varik awakens back in the lab and returns to Twoson. The biggest theme of the game is the lack of choice. When you leave Twoson and go into the sewers, you cannot turn back. When you're given the option to kill Andonuts early, your options are "Yes" and "Yes", the only way to progress is to press B. But even after that, you'll still have to kill him eventually.
It's because he believed he killed the Earthbound heroes by sending them back in the past to die against Giygas because they didn't return in this timeline, they came back to a new timeline where everything was fixed after they defeated him. Something something time travel bullshittery.
Toby made it back in 2009 and is where the track Megalovania originated. The fact that not only reappeared in Undertale but ended up in Smash Ultimate is astounding to me to this day.
