      Chapati contains gluten which sometimes can trigger severe autoimmune response called celiac disease which can damage small intestine. And also sometimes chapatis are hard to digest due to wheat content which might cause stomach ache. So is it good for diet and preferable over rice ? Pls explain 🤔.

    Have been practicing intermittent fasting for 12 hrs dedicatedly for past 5 weeks and have definitely lost 2 kg...thanks Dr. Pal for this. I have also recommended your videos to several people. I generally eat less during dinner time so it was easier for me to practise this 12hrs fasting without any issues that you had mentioned in your videos. Maybe those facing difficulties to fast for 12hrs could switch to eating less during dinner for few weeks and then try the 12 hrs fasting. Really feeling blessed to have doctors like you who help to have a healthy society. kudos to your dedication Dr. Pal

    I would recommend eating rice because chapati is very bad for our intestines. A research had been conducted which suggested that it would take months and even weeks for the chapati to get digested and come out. plus glutten gets binded to our intestines and cause diseases like IBS, chron's for those who have gluten intolerance. I had similar issues, I am very fond of chapati but whenever I used to eat it the next day I would feel constipated, lot of gassiness, bloating, nausea. But after shifting to rice, my symptoms disappeared.

      Since you mentioned post menopause, she might be little aged. If she doesn't any ailments such as diabetes and she can do longer period of fasting, she can continue 8 hrs eating with 3 meals. If not 12 hrs eating window with 3 meals with 1 snacks. Bcoz often we eat insulin will spike up , so it will not be much effective for weight loss.. 3 hrs gap should be fine between the meals

Some say not more than 20min because that causes more gluten to form in the dough. Others say it's good to rest the dough for a couple of hours. I see that in villages and traditional homes the dough is allowed to rest for 1 - 1.5 hours. I'm very confused.

    chapati is processed food from flour. Rice is in its natural form . Hence Chapati gets absorbed very quickly in the system and can increase sugar/insulin levels more than rice.

    • @engene_yeoreobun
      @engene_yeoreobun 8 месяцев назад

      Doesn't change the fact that a grain of rice has more carbohydrate amount than a wheat grain.
      After processing, this amount may or may not change in wheat. But in our home, we eat chapati made of whole grain wheat flour without processing. So chapati is definitely much healthier.

    • @engene_yeoreobun
      @engene_yeoreobun 8 месяцев назад

      I also agree with you after watching this video. In terms of diet and/or seeking for low carb food, chapati is always better than rice.
      But he discourages from eating chapati by giving example of his fictional friend who is non-stop eating chapati with curry.
      And then he promoted rice by adding words like 'vegies' and 'fibre' with it.
      Just exchange the roles of chapati and rice in the examples and you'll see an obvious difference.
      In conclusion, chapati >>>>> rice.

    Dr, u r sooo funny. Ur name reminds me one Malayalam movie, 'Kunji koonan.' In that movie the hero changed his name Kunjan to Vimal Kumar.. If we have such Drs & teachers in this world, it would be a better place to live .. 😊

    Please check below listed millets for rich fibre content. You cannot find any food for this much amount of fibre. 12.5 g fibre in Brown top millet. (King of food)
    But you are speaking about only 2g.
    Foxtail millet, kodo millet, banyard millet, Brown top millet, little millet
    Please check nutritional value for above 5 millet and compare with rice and wheat.
    Because rice and wheat are not good for health. Wheat contains gluten and gluten is very bad for health.
