I thought that was funny... There's a way you tell someone to listen that really let's them know that you're about to say something weighty. At a show, we expect that whatever the comedian will say next is exceptionally funny, hence the laughter when he said "Mark, Listen;"

Hey mate, just a tip - consider changing the person you’re focusing on after picking up that there’s a heckling attitude. Eg “ok so Mark thinks he’s the standup comedian and we’ve all paid to see him. Just in case it’s not clear, I am the one standing up.” Or something actually funny instead of what I said. Then move onto the person next to him and ask your next question. That should help reduce the oxygen of the heckle. It worked out for you this time, but giving more airtime can be risky!

I disagree with this. You don't need to "do your comedy homework" to be a comedian - you have to be funny. Crowd work, i.e. being able to improvise on the spot and make witty observations on information you've just been exposed to is a rare skill
