You can tell Dan actually got to him a bit. His energy level drops and it affects his jokes. It’s interesting how we can have a hundred people cheering for us and one hater still has that effect.

@Th3Goober Dan was correct, he didn't do anything wrong. Caroline is in fact funnier than the guy on stage, and he knew it, and it made him angry.
He's made so much progress in his speech therapy... his stutter is virtually gone.
Also, he's one of the best crowd-work / anti-heckler comedians out there right now

nah bro, USA has so much mental illness you have no idea. Over 15% of american adults have some sort of substance abuse that contributes to declining mental health. Alcohol is one of the most common substances and it's so engrained in American culture
The paradox of the situation there is that the only people that REALLY know their limit are alcoholics and knowing doesn't always stop them. It is easy to F it up is the basic moral of the story.

I was sitting directly in front of Caroline. She fell forward in her seat, folded the chair and spilled her beer everywhere. Goooood times. I was so embarrassed being in this crowd, but you didn’t even seem phased. Thank you for the amazing show (amidst the chaos) ❤️

It almost got awkward but the recovery is that of a professional. Takes great care to deal with people like Caroline, and a swifter snapback for people like dan. Its kinda crazy, just how well Drew does it.
Drew’s progress on his stutter, especially since I saw him on AGT is inspiring. He’s such a funny comedian too, and his improv skills are better than my social skills. 😂 Good work Drew, your contagious smile brightens my day, and many others too.

After watching Drew's Ted Talk and learning how much he hates being heckled, watching this was really interesting. You would never know how bothered he is by the interruptions because of how smoothly he handles the heckling 👏

I could tell he wasn't impressed by Dan, even though he handled it well.
Although, he did engage with Caroline, she was probably standing to go to the bathroom or whatever, likely had no intention of interrupting him. But likely drunk so she wasn't completely thinking clearly, so continued the interaction (still no excuse). He didn't seem as bothered with her. Probably slightly amused, and confused, by her odd behaviour.

@@drshepherd6567 EVERYONE was drunk lol. Most people had gotten up and and down to get multiple drinks BEFORE Drew ever hit the stage. And then they continued to go up and down and up and down while he was ON stage. It sounded like hoof beats the whole time lol.
And yes, she was actually a nurse😅 at least it seemed that way. They were cracking up for a good few minutes about it before they yelled it out🤣

@@therickeffect7466 hahah no I don’t think so😂 the ladies I was sitting behind starting CRACKING up when she said her name because they were thinking it was “her” the whole time she was talking lol. Then they called out “she’s a nurse”. I tapped them and was like “wait you guys know her” and they were just LOSING IT🤣 they said they all work together. So I’m assuming it’s at Enloe (the hospital here in Chico), but it could be a number of places. The hospital is just the most likely😅
But no, I’m gonna guess related is doubtful🤣

I can't imagine how frustrating this is for Drew. I feel like his ability to handle hecklers and people who constantly bring up his speech or make fun of it show after show is unmatched in any other comedy show today. Cudos to you Drew for always keeping a calm head about it and entertaining the ones who came to respectfully watch you do comedy.
He said this in his “curiosity” TEDxNashville talk and I had to write it down:
“I HATE BEING INTERRUPTED. No one likes it but it cuts a little deeper for me because of the 10 years I spent battling a stutter and how tumultuous my relationship with it has been. I was initially mocked for having it and then later called a liar for succeeding despite having it. Damned if I do; damned if I don’t.”
“Interrupting someone who stutters, that’s like tickling someone who’s gassy. ..It’s … a huge risk.”

Yeah Drew handled it well. I was there and it's embarrassing when the audience members are being knuckleheads, he wasn't phased by it and put on a great show.
When his improv skills are so good that even after the audience tries messing him up in some way or interrupting he still has comebacks like it was actually a written script

If it take 8 mins for you to come up with something other than making fun of a drunken idiot (wich is super easy for anybody to do since drunks make a fool of thier own self) then you need alot more practice. I like watching comedians make jokes about others and everybody have a good time but This whole video is basically """hey everybody that woman is drunk , I'm gonna repeat what she says as though we didn't already hear her the first time , ohhoooheehaa she's so drunk guys , hey kids is that your mother? ohahaha wow look at how drunk she is everybody""" and I feel like his stuttering issue gets him sympathy points , kinda like a person in a wheelchair because this probably wouldn't be that funny if it was somebody else.

I noticed I have to leave out some space for laughter (or potential laughter 😅) and then continue. It was really fun and I made a lot of friends!
(Maybe I'll post the videos on my channel.. I definitely still need work, but it'll be cool to keep track of where I started from.)

Woah… I haven’t watched in a while. That speech therapy seems to be going really really well! Wild! And my god, is his humor just so fluid. It just works, there’s no missed beats, no moment to think of a response, just constant humor. I can’t imagine handling being interrupted while publicly speaking, dealing with the heckler, but also keeping it entertaining and funny for everyone else. It’d for sure throw me off.
This crowd work is incredible. I'm just trembling over how much control you give your audience, but you roll them back with every joke. Super impressive. Come to Tampa!

Haven't checked in with your videos for a few years, I didn't catch a single stutter in this whole routine even though it's obviously unscripted.
