I would like to request a watch book written by Tim Masso and read to me by Jack Forster lol. The wealth of knowledge and depth in this video is unbelievable. More like this please.
Tim Masso's skill of not having 1 sec of hesitation or repetition is unparalleled - I cannot think of any journalist that has that ability. Super impressive.
Love this. The level of knowledge and passion of Patek on here is *chef's kiss*. Long live references like the 5326G and 5524G to herald in the new modern Patek collector without succumbing to the temptations of only selling pieces that cater to hype and flex culture.
I had a patek calatrava back in the 1990s. I bought it on ebay from south korea. I was thrilled to f8nd out it was real first of all. It was white gold.
Long time Jack Forster fan. I met him once and he was super humble and gracious. I'm happy to see Jack doing what he does best at WatchBox Studios! They are producing content for true watch enthusiasts, keep up the great work!
The comment about A. Lange & Sohne is spot on! They need to begin taking risks again! ALS watches are beautiful and I love them, however it would be great for them to do something cutting edge. And the comparison to the 5524 is spot on! I had not purchased a Patek in quite some time, the 5524 got me back into Patek - and although a timeless design, it is a beautiful and contemporary piece.
Really looking forward to this one! Is it just me, or does Tim seem to say "Foster" when introducing Jack? I feel like that might be the way he says Forster, cause he's done it in other videos too.
Thank you for this video ! One of the best about PP. So much knowledge around this table. And so nice to hear the word "Elipse"...coincidentally, im looking for a Ref. 3738/100G-012. For me one of the best "reduced to the max" watches.
Hi Philipp! We have the Rose Gold version of the 3738 going through service, as well as an Ellipse set with the 3738 in Platinum. Please contact us if you are interested in discussing either of the pieces. Thanks for commenting! --Team WatchBox
Tim, Jack, and Brian are to be congratulated on a very insightful episode of Patek: past, present, and future. Patek is the yardstick by which other watchmakers are judged. Lange’s Datograph definitely pushed Patek to up their game to come up with in-house movements in the 5172/5270 Chronographs. Patek while evolving into a modern watch company has the luxury to take design cues from their past references into modern designs.
Thank you for a very interesting and informative video, especially, when one of my Patek’s, the 5524, is discussed. Heritage is very important along with quality that determines if I am willing to invest in a brand. Awesome content from Tim, Jack, and Brian.
Most modern Patek's leave me rather cold. I really dislike the way the small registers on the chronographs are not in line with the crown on the in house movements.
The "Jack Welch Calatrava" (with or without seconds register) is the ultimate power watch. The Golden Elipse and the Aquanaut are excellent too. By the way, I agree with you. As an engineer, I prefer thin, simple. hand-drawn movements created by a legacy of fine watchmakers. In that case, for over 40 years I prefer only Piaget.
Govberg - rewriting history for Patek, as to prop up their pilot watch as a modern day AP Code 11:59 designed to bring a newer generation, this just makes me want to vomit; I’m so sorry to say this, but it just has to be said.

Per Jack, “Patek can afford to take chances” This is well said! So many other brands need to do the same.

Interesting to me that there was no mention of the development of the annual calendar 5035 and the first and only regulator reference 5235
That Patek rose gold pilot watch looks amazingly stunning. That gentleman described it perfectly - it’s a sporty Calatrava.

Very knowledgeable round table. Big thank you for this extremely interesting discussion.

I think the Pilot travel time is really unique and particularly ❤ nobody recognizes this yet but in the near future I think
Any discussion that colloquially uses the word "hermeneutic" deserves credit from me.

Another great piece of content for the weekend. Thanks guys !
I love Watchbox content 😍
I really can learn a lot from every episode of Perpetually Patek! Thank you guys!
really great discussion. hope we can have more of this in the future.
When mentioning a series you should also show a picture of it. Now I’m just confused by the numbers
My favourite series on watch box. Other than Tims reviews.
11:34, Tim realizing that he is responsible for the sharp inward angle trend on Instagram and wondering whether this is a good thing or not.
Don't overlook outward points, either!
Best,
Tim
My favorite piece of this video is the Datograph.
Beautiful content 💫
I can appreciate Jack but sorry I only need Tim - actually liked the videos more when he was talking more. And it was just him and Brian
Tim wins the argument on why the Ellipse is not making a comeback!
Tim is tremendous. So much so that I can get past those sideburns.
Please show more of the watches you’re are talking about as you are talking. 80% watches, 20% of your lovely faces.
Where is the Netflix … chef’s table format with these gents and others discussing watch making ????!!
Cmon, please !
The dream team! Pease keep up the good work!
Most modern Patek's leave me rather cold. I really dislike the way the small registers on the chronographs are not in line with the crown on the in house movements.
Jack's voice is cream, deep-fried in butter, served drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil.
So is it Paddock or PawTek??
I, for one, am quite happy that Lange has decide not to "evolve".
It was the sons idea to have the rainbow aquanaut
Such a particular pronunciation of the word "watch"...
Brian sounds so robotic , completely devoid of charisma and passion. Episode would’ve been so much better without him.
Every episode, in fact!
I tend to disagree, but will forward your thoughts along to management
Ps. I believe I smile at 11:28 :)
Brian and Tim are actually brothers. Their father is Alfred E. Neuman. Famous celebrity, who appeared on many covers of Mad magazine.
I really like Brian and look forward to his presence on the shows. He has amazing knowledge and hope he continues his participation.
I think he was just fine. He has a ton of knowledge and kept up with Tim and Jack.
Langer are better,thanks
Modern PP are not attractive at all. Only the Nautilus has stood the test of time to me 💯
