I have missed Tim’s “doesn’t this minute repeater sound great?” face. Miss the days of the shows where it seemed like a minute repeater was part of the show every week.
Great team. If I had to co-host with Tim’s amazing internet brain I would not know how to add to that . My brain does not remember what I had for lunch .
Damn...i feel like I'm in a classroom...so knowledgeable about these awesome pieces..great video. It's great seeing people talking about watches rather than a bunch of rich people on a boat showing off there hype pieces...no thanks,i will watch these watch geeks lol.
This is an EPIC line up of exquisite time pieces. By far the best episode to date of an already fantastic show. Well done guys! Set up is also improved - don’t miss those armchairs! ;-)
First of all around 450 pieces of 5004 were made, not 200. Stainless steel was done in two batches of 50, so 100 watches are in steel. So that leaves us with 350 of other watches. Production over 16 years was about 200 watches, so that leaves us with extra 150 watches that people don't know about, this belong to the area after 2012, known only among top VIP Patek clients as "vintage collection" offered exclusively to the 3 Patek Salons clientele. Out of this remaining 150 watches, about 25 were made for Saatchi exhibition in London in 2015, such as salmon version white gold and 10 pieces 5004P-046. So about 125 watches were made for super vip clients as vintage collection, about 50 of those were unique pieces. and the other 75 in small production of around 5-10 watches per metal and dial configuration. So the white gold version of 5004 in this video, also know as G15 because it is 5004G-015, this watch is in fact the rarest of all watches produced between 1996-2012 (in some cases 1994 to 2010), the G15 out of 200 watches made in my opinion is the rarest, probably only around 10-15 watches max. Of course if do not count the platinum version baguette diamonds, so 5004P-032 this would be the rarest Patek but it was only made at the very end of 2009/2010, so maybe in total 5 watches. Unfortunately why this watch will never replace 2499 is due to Patek's over production of steel version and over production of vintage collection that was made between 2012-2021, there are too many of 5004 that are unique pieces, and that's a not very good thing for a Patek collector or any collector for that matter. It is still the best watch ever produced by Patek, nothing will ever top it.
Nice video, (small request) when talking about the watches is it possible to make a split screen whereby we see the watch and you guys talking about it at the same time?
The 2526 is understated but is my choice. The enamel dial is damn cool + first automatic patek is a true “milestone watch” as Tim says. Fun fact: 2526 was more expensive at retail than many of their complication watches due to the price of the movement and the dial.
You just mentioned that 3670 is very rare & its only 1 of 16 examples but the way you fold the leather strap im feeling its just 1 of the seiko watches... no pun intended!😀😀😀
patek should pat you guys for doing these series about Calatrava! You guys might single handily save the image of Patek of not being a hyped brand for the younger generations!
@@the1916companywatchreviewsI was thinking you must've been a guitarist to make that Floyd rose comment! Can you get any cooler man? Hahaha. Sustain pedal with delay and some overdrive+ sweet amp 80s dive-bombing🤣
A masterclass of sorts here, great job, guys! One of the most rewarding ways to spend 30 min on RUclips than any other I can think of. I have a couple of questions that I hope you can indulge me in as I'd very much appreciate adding to my learning. 2526: reference was made that Rolex had a 20-year patent on their automatic movement design. Questions: (1) after that patent lapsed, did PP use/adopt that design? (2) if not, why the need to wait out the expiry of that patent? (3) did PP not consider Zenith's El Primero movement instead of waiting for Rolex' patent to lapse? (After all, El Primero's introduction pipped Rolex to the public records as the first auto movement, didn't it?) Thanks in advance! (Looking forward to more from you and your team!)
Lovely!!!!! Wow. Love this video! With respect Tim, I was a bit disappointed to hear you disparaging a 33mm Patek watch, using a euphemism “presence”. I thought your experience was broader. No offense, just observing. Thank you.
@@the1916companywatchreviews Thanks for your reply Tim. I get that. I guess I’m just overly sensitive because of the general and sometimes vicious condemnation of vintage watches due to their size! Poor men…always concerned with size… Cheers and best to you. I enjoy your vids immensely and I find them quite ingenious!
@@BenTramer Very odd, but after all these years on camera and doing RUclips videos, I don’t think Brian is comfortable in this setting. He seems out of place. That could be part of it.
I'm sorry Tim but those movements in the 3670A were in fact finished in the 1950s and not finished when they were cased! That finishing is the same you would get in the 1463, 2499, 1518 etc. Also these 13-130 are finished leaps and bounds better than any modern Patek
Why are this two kind gentlemen transfering to eachother informations that they both equally know about infront of camera?! Couldn't just one narrator handle it all? Oh boy, I feel like a 90 year old suddenly!
This production kicks ass. Watchbox is the gold standard for watch content.
“It’s a watch that impresses you with its nuance, and the deeper it gets the more impressive it becomes.”
Narrative on a watch. Awesome 👏
This is an absolutely STELLAR episode! You guys are speaking to my heart with this kind of content. Thank you so very much.
It was like walking through the art collection of the Medici house in Florence. Full of masterpieces. Good work guys.
Honestly, who needs Jack Forster when you have Tim Mosso in the house? His level of horological knowledge never ceases to amaze me.
Much appreciated ;--)
Best,
Tim
Loved the level of nerdy detail here. Thank you.
Epic Gents.
I doth my cap to the collector calling those his own 👌
Thanks for showcasing them for the rest of us mere mortals!
Tim, I was hypnotized while listening to you describe the watches and have not smoked cigarettes ever since. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What a beautiful selection of history and art. Well showcased and described.
Welcome!
So happy that Brian is so close related to the Patek Brand now , we can get plenty of it...
Did he marry into the Stern family?

Fantastic presentation, thanks to all for making it happen
The platinum tonneau cased minute repeater sounded so much better than gold sapphire backed one.
Great time pieces. This was fun learning about additional timepieces from Patek
I like the Nautilus series but these are the Patek watches that make me feel something.

Love the way Brian reassures Tim that he’s ‘correct’ when talking about Patek’s…
You noticing a competition in this conversation shows how toxic it is.
Thanks a lot, what a great collection and magnificent presentation of it !
What a great episode gentlemen, the knowledge you guys bring to the table is outstanding. What a collection. Always looking forward to the next show.
Another Patek masterclass...brilliant

3670 - wow oh wow, what a watch that is. Never seen that before. I love the 5940 but this dial is outrageous.
Love the guitar reference Tim!
That minute repeater is simply astounding.
Thx Tim & team
I lOVE that he pronounces pahtek correctly

Please. More content exactly like this
Awesome episode really enjoyed it!!
Isn't a Floyd Rose more of a sustain killer, Tim? ;)
Great show, as always. Tonneau case Patek always makes my heart beat faster.
It can be, especially when set up wrong, which is often. That's why I play a hardtail -- much easier to set up!
Best,

The 5013 sounds amazing. Love all of these watches.
Would have liked more information from Brian
Agree, for the most part I thought he was very good. Was dressed well too.
Would have been nice to meet the owner of these beauties. But I respect their desire for discretion.
5004 all day!
nice chronoswiss pieces
2526 is beautiful
Take a shot of tequila every time Alfred E Neumann says "correct".
While certainly Brian could buy Tim 100X over (maybe more?), for years he has been saying "correct" like he's Tim's teacher. A bit odd.

Isn’t the 5004 a platinum watch it looks the same as the MR because it’s the same metal no? Doesn’t it even have the diamond indicating platinum?

OK🤔
Wonder who’s collection this belongs to… Jason Singer?
Could we get more close ups of the watches and less footage of you 2 ?
No offence but the watches are a lot more aesthetically pleasing.
"Yes, no." Why do people say that
SWISS MADE
I'm sorry but that 1463 and 1518 have cleaned and washed dials! Most of them were but to call them "untouched" is laughable!
Superb insight, Tim Musso is number 1, Archie Is number 2, Tim Write is garbage
is that the same 1463 that just sold for cca 900 k at Phillips - lot 113?
