I walked up to the customer service desk and thanked the manager, MATT. It was SO good!
Talked to a worker today and Trader Joe’s raised each workers hourly wage during the pandemic! Awesome company that I will always continue to support 💕. Thank you for the great haul!
I have befriended several employees and was informed that they really treat their employees well. I love that they go out of their way to assist the shopper.
Been making my own almond milk, soy milk and tofu for four years now. I rarely do store bought. I think you'll really get into it once you get into the groove. I also grow a lot of my own veggies so I re-use some of the plastic containers from the store for my seed starts. Blessings and stay safe!
I just went grocery shopping today at Sprouts. I bought some dandelion greens and a dill sauerkraut for the first time. Can't wait to try them out! And I love the Wyman's big bags of fruits. I got a Tropical Berry and Coconut blend this time. I'll be on an island in my head. :)
The relationship between soy and fibroids among black women is still a mystery. I hope you'll guide your viewers to use alternative dairy products, but not "support" using soy as much. I hope you investigate why you should limit your intake of soy, especially during your child bearing years.
Hey love! Digging the handkerchief pattern, but I really want to let you know, that ONLY the air that goes THROUGH the mask is filtered. If there are any gaps, like below the chin, just forego the mask, because it can increase your tendency to touch and adjust it on your face. Also, if the front if your mask is pulled tightly against your face, the moisture produced by your breath can soak through the absorbent cotton and transfer germs to your face. Lastly, treat your used mask like a rag someone sneezed on, dont keep it on longer than needed or you increase your risk of transferring it from the front of the mask (where the filtering happens) to everywhere else like your chest and neck! Imagine picking baby up and she rests her head right there! Sorry for the negativity! Sorry sorry!
I can’t go Trader Joe’s because I’m not ho’ing more than a few miles from my area!......I’m not eating organic as much and variety is less.....there is Aldi’s but they cater to area and I guess my palate is more advanced!!!!!.....I hope you have another Whole Foods collab
Yeah TJs is sort of vegan junk food heaven for me lol. We like the Chile lime rolled tortilla chips, the chocolate chunks (like chips but big), Kung Pao Cauliflower, the chickenless nuggets, they’re “everyday seasoning” blend, the soy yogurt, their fiesta cheez dip and of course the tofu. We like the win packs of sprouted tofu or the purple-ish containers of organic tofu. We also like the soy chorizo.
Just wanted to mention for those looking for vegan / dairy free that the chocolate chunks at TJs have milk fat, but the chocolate chips do not! I’ve bought the wrong ones by accident before without realizing and had to return.
It IS a journey! I'm working on eating less meat. So far I'm pledging to one meatless meal a day and I'm enjoying watching all these vegan recipe videos.I did Whole 30 a few years ago and it really changed my quality of life. So letting go of meat feels like a good next step. Little by little. I also try to be aware of my garbage waste! I love your channel! So motivating. From TJs I love the dried Monterey Cherries and also the Chili Lime blended seasoning. Yum yum. If I'm being really bad I love the plantain crisps. I bought white quinoa last week too and I'm loving that as well!
I spy my local TJs, we’re neighbors! We’re so lucky to have TJs, the farmers mkt, Sprouts, and the Co op all within a stone’s throw! TJs Falafel mix and canned Dolmas are always in my pantry xoxo
I just went to Trader Joe’s yesterday also! I was really impressed by how they had a line with marks telling you where to stand, sanitized carts, only allowing so many at a time, etc. Also, I appreciate you talking about the plastic. I live in KS. It’s hard here. My bulk choices are very limited and can be extremely expensive. (Don’t understand why) Budget is key for me, so I do what I can. But buying a small prepackaged item over and over is worse than buying a large item once. (Usually in a better container) So thanks for bringing attention to that! 💗
Trader Joe's is my absolute favorite Grocery store. I like to shop at Sprouts too...was just there last weekend. Whole Foods is definitely great too. 99 cent store has some Vegan and Organic food items.
Ahhhh I love grocery hauls thank you so much!! I’ve been buying a lot of kimchi, brown rice, big packages of greens, salsa, tortilla chips, sweet potatoes, and mango white claws 😂❤️.
I admire you commitment to using less plastic. Making your own tofu, tempeh, peppers, etc. is a wonderful thing. I don't drink wine but the box wine might have a plastic liner. I feel the same way about feeling comfortable shopping at Trader Joe's because they are so conscientious about social distancing and cleaning. Stay safe.
I rarely go to TJ’s but my family loves their dried mango, and in the fall, their spiced cider! We drink it, we make donuts with it, it’s just super yummy!
Thanks for the shopping haul video! FYI I love red and yellow bell peppers. Home Depot was having a sale on starter plants. I bought a starter of red bell peppers and growing in a container so far it is doing good! Something to think about 😊
My grandpa was a handyman he says that you need to rinse everything before you stick it in the dishwasher. He used to get so many calls because little food particles would be stuck in the little blades where the water was supposed to be squirting out and so many things can go wrong with just one little thing putting a wrench in it
Thought you might enjoy these quick Southern style biscuits, 1 c gf flour 1 c gf baking flour 1 tbsp baking powder 1 tbsp sugar 1 good pinch salt 1 to 2 c vegan buttermilk ( almond milk plus lemon juice) Mix together using enough buttermilk for sticky dough. Turn onto flour surface, mould into a round shape. Cut into even pieces Put a thin layer of oil in a round skillet or pan Shape each piece of dough into a ball, place in pan, flip over and place in a ring with one biscuit in the middle Oven 450f 13 minutes Top with melted butter Broil 5 minutes till golden
@SweetPotaoSoul Jenne, TJ's IS THE JOINT!! I recognize that Trader Joe's--I also frequent that store, as it is on my way home from work. My fave purchases are their dry roasted almonds, unsalted chunky peanut butter, organic bananas, and a new fave is the Asian medley with brown rice sauté kit (found in the pre-packaged refrigerated meal section).
Yes in the Sprouts the bulk bags that they have in Texas is huge bags! Love your haul for Trader's Joe and I have not been to ours due too the long lines. Love there raisin bread!
I know guys... I'm in Mexico and we have crappy Walmarts with little vegan options. I have the luxury of being able to cross the border because I live so close to the U.S. but it would still be nice to have these types of stores.
@@olly2027 Nope. I have the Sentri card, which the U.S. government issues after passing a very extensive criminal background check to both U.S. and foreigners like me with a passport.
I don’t have a Trader Joe’s in town but when I go to a town with one I’ll pick up the everything but the bagel seasoning, the booze there is amazing, I’ll buy Ezekiel bread and Dave’s killer bread, and the sweet potato gnocchi
I’ve been going in on fresh fruit 🍉 and greens 🥬. Supermarkets where I am are best for greens and nuts in terms of availability and price. And the sunflowers 🌻 are STUNNING! Thanks for this video, useful & informative 🌿💛 I hope everyone is doing their best to eat fresh produce 🌿💛💛
You're doing a great job trying to avoid plastic. Here's another way to reuse the plastic container of tofu----you can put holes in the bottom, fill it with potting soil and add seeds! I've been growing vegetables from seed this year. I was buying pots then realized I could reuse containers I was recycling! :) My fave TJ items: their marinara sauce, curry sauce, organic hummus, everything but the bagel seasoning, vegan veggie burgers and their frozen hashbrowns.
I agree, Trader Joe's is handling this pandemic better than any of our local grocery stores. I feel like they care for their customers and employees. I only buy kombucha at TJ's bc it's always $2.99 (cheaper than anywhere else). Also looooove the fire roasted corn, I buy 2 bags every visit and their precooked falafels are delicious. Also can we talk about their garlic aioli? OMG theeee best, I use it as a base for white pizza. nomnomnomnom
same kombucha and flowers!!!!! love them, wish we had our own store here in northeastern ontario canada..bless up, congrats on sweetie girl baby..toddler!!! adorable ;))) oh yeah i love teff too :))))))
California grapes are sprayed with glyphosate. I purchase wines from outside the U.S. Love shopping Trader Joe's and have for many years. Having lived in Albuquerque, I was able to buy wines inexpensively, but returned to Pennsylvania where alcohol is not sold in my county markets, so I must shop elsewhere when purchasing wines. The wines you recommend appear to be somewhat costly ($60). That's $20 per bottle, but shall consider your recommendation. I belong to a food co-op here and have for years. Love it, but oftentimes I shop at Trader Joe's bc it is not as costly. My favs at TJ's are the 4 Indian Fare, pre-packaged meals. They are all stocked together. As a fan of Indian foods, I find them absolutely delicious, authentic and keep at least 8-12 packages in my pantry. On lazy days, I will cook rice, prepare a salad and I am literally in heaven, having prepped minimally. I also like TJ's Jack Fruit, their frozen vegetarian Indian foods, Kombuchas, vegan yogurts, Rice & Soy milks and just about everything with the Trader Joe's label, that is vegan. You must, you must, try TJ's, Soy Cherry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream! Oh my word...it is divine. Probably not the best for one, but I absolutely love it! The Vanilla flavor...just OK. One more item as i reflect, the Jalapeno Cashew Nuts. Absolutely love, love them, but generally only consume in the Fall & Winter. They are the bomb, bomb!! Enjoy your content, be wise, circumspect and continue to enjoy life! You are a breath of fresh air:) Shalom.
I love Trader Joes. I want to try that frozen roasted corn. I think Id wrap it up in a corn tortilla with their soy chorizo, cilantro and salsa. The jackfruit is also a must-have for me. Thank you for all of your helpful advice!
I love the Trader Joe's vegan mac & cheese, but it's a treat. Staples include the lentils, the tempeh, the tofu. I want to the frozen vegan gnocchi. Mostly, we order groceries online. Stay safe, stay sane!
We don't have a Trader Joe's where I live, but I really enjoyed your video and Kudos to Max for buying those beautiful Sunflowers!!!! Have a fantastic week!!! :)
I love Trader Joe’s especially for their wasabi seaweed chips but they are not organized in ONE ☝🏽 they have in Philly (yes there is practically only one in the area)
I just starting ordering from Imperfect Foods! I stopped going to the store and just order online. Trader Joe 's doesn't have ordering online. I like them.
Tofu: In Kansas and in Oregon, I used to be able to get large blocks of tofu unpackaged from local tofu makers. In Canada, that doesn't seem possible, and making it does seem like an excellent idea.
My absolutely favorite store for four primary reasons: 1) quality, no GMOs 2) lower pricing 3) their own brand/variety 4) Please check out "Indian Fare", which is an extremely yummy Indian food, that is already prepared. My store has 4 different meals/options, which are all absolutely delicious. Tikka Marsala, Tikka Vegetables, Tikka Panne, & Jaipur Vegetables. Might have the names a bit out of order, but, they are stocked together and you can select which you prefer. Your store might have different options, but I tell you, they are ALL absolutely delicious and I feel like I am actually dining in an Indian restaurant. Just warm your Naan, Paratha, Chapati, Pouri, Roti, Bhakri, and all is well. I consume soy, have for 45 years and NO problems whatsoever, in spite of those who advocate against its consumption. It should be "organic', but I must admit that I love TJ's soy Cherry Chocolate Chip ice cream. It is so doggone good! BTW....I tried the bitters....bitter, bitter, bitter :( Perhaps I purchased the wrong kind, but how does it replace the glass of wine? Am I missing something? Oh well, I only consume small amounts of wine when I do, and it has to be from other countries, not Calif. or any where in the USA bc of the glyphosates etc. Like your videos alot and have learned soooo much in spite of my years of being vegan. Blessings & Shalom to you and yours!
I buy spices in bulk online. We don't have TJ's here. We have Kroger, Walmart, & Super 1 Foods. Bought sweet potatoes, turnip greens, radishes, mangoes, rice, plantains, dried red & navy beans, serrano peppers, corn on the cob, tomatoes, arugula, bell peppers, garlic, onions, tofu, nutritional yeast, vital wheat gluten, apples & oranges, some frozen veggies, strawberries, eggplant, & carrots. I already had plenty of back stock on nuts, seeds, & most of my grains & beans.
Hi! I live in Madrid so I've no idea what TJ sells, but I can tell you what I'm doing. We buy loads of bulk and try to cook our own but these 3 months I think it is already ( I've lost count 🙈🙈, since March 15th) of strict lockdown, although very necessary has made things difficult. Our bulk stores are an hour on the underground there and another hour back. Although I live in the city I live in the outskirts. We have lovely fresh produce in Spain so we haven't had problems getting any. The only thing is my goal was to find a place where I could get everything in just one journey, once a week or every 9 to 10 days and where I felt safe. So that's made me have to compromise on my no plastic journey. I've done as best as I can and tried not no be hard on myself. Also having to use bleach which I never do, disposable gloves in stores, masks etc hasn't helped. Now things are much better, although still in lockdown, I'm going back to good habits little by little. Hopefully we'll go into our so called new normality soon 🤞. We'll be in lockdown until June 21st though. Masks have been solved as I've got some beautiful reusable material one's 😍 very trendy 🤣. And slowly but surely we'll soon be able to dive into our plastic free life. Those tofu containers can be used to tidy up stationary in drawers, or hairpins, make up or other little things what my mum calls bits and bobs. Also can be used to put under pots or to grow seeds. If you've got a school nearby they might like them to keep art supplies or use them for activities. Thankfully in Madrid we've got quite a good recycling program that helps me not feel so bad about all the containers I've used since March. I'd love to see a video on homemade soy milk and tofu. I've got a beautiful wooden tofu press and made tofu once, but didn't go too well 🙈🙈🤣🤣🤣. Take care, lots of love ❤❤❤
Definitely going to try the green jackfruit! You can get bulk spices at the big box stores like sams club and Costco. I haven't been to TJs since early March. I'm overdue to return! Love your recipes!! Long time fan/ follower. Thanks!!!
I came across one of your videos and I've been hooked. I've been vegetarian for about a week now, but I must be doing something wrong. I have not been feeling well these last 2 days. Headaches and fatigued. Following your tips.
Your body is just getting used to it’s new environment. Drink lots of water and eat double... fruits and veggies just melt away 1-2 hrs after eating. Good luck and congrats 🍾 🍀
You may need to eat more as the calorie counts in veggies and fruits are a lot less than meat and dairy. Increase your water as well! It took almost a month when I went cold turkey to vegansim to totally adjust. :) Good luck!
The canned wine looks interesting! I haven't been to Trader Joe's since we got Whole Foods (which is also very comfortable to shop these days) - I tend to buy too many snacky things at Traders - but I am buying vegan cheese (which honestly I can make myself, and do, but the slices are so convenient). Also splurged on some Beyond Meat burgers although I have been making a rocking seitan country ham and tried making burgers from soy curls which were good. Bought some Beyond Meat Brats because my family always cooks brats on Memorial Day. Also bought tofu even though I, too, have it on my list to make my own from the Vegan Pantry cookbook. Bought some Ezekiel bread as well even though I have been baking sourdough once a week. It's just good to have on hand. We don't have a farmers market in our small town - we travel an hour to go to Whole Foods to "stock" - so we buy Misfits organic produce which is pretty cost efficient considering it's all organic. Stay well and healthy! Would love to see how you make tofu!
I buy beer at Trader Joe’s. At my store I can get singles of various sorts to create a custom 6 pack. I also buy peanut butter and coffee and tomato paste.
I love TJs! It just sucks that at the location closest to me the parking lot is always maxed out (even before the lockdown). So I just do all my superfood shopping at Sprouts whom I also love.
I don’t know if this is any better but I’ve been buying spices and baking ingredients in bulk from Frontier Coop online since all the bulk bins near me are also closed! But it’s probably better just to buy packaged from the local store because of the carbon footprint... 🤔
Can you please share where you bought your bulk soy beans. We're a large family and I'm looking to diy our tofu as well. Also what press will you use when you make yours?
This is the first time I have watched your videos. And I have to say. I just fell in love with you and your family. I never thought that i could make my own tofu or soy milk. That is one of the first things on my to do list for june. Also I totally forgot all about trader joes. cheers to you
I love Trader Joes. My favorite items are soy milk, frozen mango, frozen cauliflower pizza, and the dark chocolate bars (3 pack). I WISH our T.J. had wine. I also have started buying boxed wine. My 3L box lasted me about 45 days as well. I chose it for the same reason as you, to eliminate the buying frequency. I shop Trader Joe once every three weeks. I purchased the block of soy. I want to try a recipe I saw, but I am having a hard time finding nutritional yeast.

They’ve also been fighting tooth and nail too keep TJs employees from organizing a union so it’s a mixed bag.
Been making my own almond milk, soy milk and tofu for four years now. I rarely do store bought. I think you'll really get into it once you get into the groove.
I also grow a lot of my own veggies so I re-use some of the plastic containers from the store for my seed starts.

They have the cheapest vegan ice creams, and really good “cheeseless cheesecakes.”
I used to work at TJ's. :) It's a great company and they take care of their employees too
Would you like a true fabric mask? Do you have an address for fans to mail you things?
You have a kid, of course you don't have time for homemade stuff. I remember when my girl was little. You are doing great👍🤓
Haha! You feel me 😂 Thank you so much!

please do more grocery hauls! I love seeing what people pick up
I use those tofu containers as plant containers for my succulents! I puncture some holes in the bottom and boom you’ve got a new plant box!
I was just at TJs yesterday; I like it but I have to say Whole foods is my store.

Don’t think I’ve ever been this early! No TJ’s here, but I loaded up on produce this week.

Nice! Produce is way better anyway 😉
Jicama wraps, dill pickle hummus
and tangerine juice
Have you tried Miyoko's vegan butter near the TJ eggs section? My hubbie & I love it. Thanks for sharing! Peace. 🙏🏽
That is the best one on bread especially!

Love your videos!
The only one I go to is the one in Jenkintown. I didn't know they actually one in Philly.
@@NatureGirl215LLC There are two in Philly now. One at 21st and Market and another location at 13th and Arch.
I was craving for that package waste topic pop up once I saw you in the store 🤗💚 minimalism and environmentalism always add up to veganism.
Spicy avocado humus is so good
Artichoke hearts. They make great crab cakes.
The name of this channel❤🌟
Definitely going to try the green jackfruit! You can get bulk spices at the big box stores like sams club and Costco. I haven't been to TJs since early March. I'm overdue to return! Love your recipes!! Long time fan/ follower. Thanks!!!
Wish we had a Trader Joe's...I miss it!
I love Trader Joe’s! Loved this video so much! I’m a new subscriber💕
Trader Joe’s all the way!
Trader Joes has a new dill pickle hummus that I am loving!!
❤️ TJ only place I shop especially now I’m not vegan yet but I have eliminated several things from my diet...
This woman is a mind reader!
TJ has The best frozen mangoes, Ever!
Your shoes are Avarca Pons? They are so comfy and awesome!!
Luv ur sunflowers🌻
My favorite thing from Trader Joes is their Red Lentils. I just luv them I try to keep two bags in the pantry.
The falafel at Trader Joe’s is pretty good.
I buy beer at Trader Joe’s. At my store I can get singles of various sorts to create a custom 6 pack. I also buy peanut butter and coffee and tomato paste.
Definitely this is my story🌻🌻🌻 I love me some Trader Joe’s
B12 fortified SoyMilk (Silk Organic Unsweet; I bought a pack of 6 and got discount)
I love TJs! It just sucks that at the location closest to me the parking lot is always maxed out (even before the lockdown). So I just do all my superfood shopping at Sprouts whom I also love.
I lovvve TJ’S!
you are such a vibrant queen!!!!
Look up nut farms and chances are if you want to buy it in bulk you can buy in bulk from one of those sources
I put my bulk oats from my local grocery in the old oatmeal container lol. I painted it so the cashier doesn't scan the barcode by mistake.
Frozen is usually left over veggies i mean companies are in business to make money so just like u up cycles so they they.
I just tried that Kombucha last week. I love it💖
I don’t know if this is any better but I’ve been buying spices and baking ingredients in bulk from Frontier Coop online since all the bulk bins near me are also closed! But it’s probably better just to buy packaged from the local store because of the carbon footprint... 🤔
?? Carbon footprint
Hey Try The International Stores For Herbs & Spices
Love your videos, your family is so cute!
I love dolmas in the can!!! They are delicious!
