Did you know about all of the donations going out the door from TJs daily? Flowers to hospice centers, overripe fruit to animal sanctuaries, food items to shelters and food banks. Amazing but dang I do hate all the plastic!

Agreed! Over here in Australia, you can bring your own mesh bags and pick items individually like capsicum (bell peppers), brusselsprouts and asparagus. BUT, if you buy it in a plastic bag, then the unit price (per kg) is cheaper! It’s stupid and frustrating because it’s tempting to buy the cheaper option, but it’s costing the planet :(

Great video even tho we don’t have Traders Joes in Australia. It is still really interesting to see what products are out there around the globe. Regarding canned tomatoes I have heard the acidity can leach the chemicals from the lining of the can - even if BPA free. Apparently there are other chemicals in the lining. I only buy them in glass now just to be on the safe side. What are your thoughts ? ❤

I love TJ’s. A $75-ish haul would be at least $120 at my local Kroger aka King Soopers here in Colorado.

TJ’s is def one of the 4 spots I hit on the regular. I get their bagged organic apples, potatoes and mandarins, organic bananas, Sprouted Ezekiel bread, canned organic garbanzo beans, cinnamon and black pepper. 😊 They also have great plants and fresh flowers, both of which I get regularly.
We had been away for a while but glad to make it back, we were pleasantly surprised!

Hey I don’t even know why I feel so compelled to say this but I do: have you used/heard of the Linda McCartney cookbook called “on tour”? It’s meat free and this may sound odd but it’s one of the best cookbooks I’ve ever used. I highly recommend it.

Yes they do, places used to give 10% discount, but not as much anymore. A case usually costs about $30. Cheap, we freeze them and have smoothies for weeks!

Oh gosh Erin! Always love your green smoothie recipe. I know buying organic is super important to you, however with the rising food prices it’s not accessible for some especially here in Canada organic strawberries are $9.99. If you do buy conventional products, I know you said to be aware of the dirty dozen but do you use a fruit wash for conventional produce… Or prefer not to buy them at all?
It is crazy expensive! Unfortunate but yea we do our best to prioritize organic. Check out the dirty dozen and clean 15 list

Fun that you find German bottled water in Trader Joe's - that made me laugh a bit. It's a brand we buy back home. 😂 Loved this haul. I was so amazed by my one visit when I was on holiday a few years back. I filled my suitcase with trader Joe's peanut butter 😅 so many beautiful organic options. Our supermarkets here in the UK really need to pick up speed on this. ❤
Trader Joe's is owned by the Albrecht family. A German family that also owns Aldi Nord. Gerolstein is about an hour north of me. It's our go to sparkling water company, though we buy it in glass bottles in crates.

Also the Trader Joe's soy milk is awesome! I shop there weekly and always get their soy milk. I even use it to make homemade yogurt and it turns out great!
I’m aware that Dr Greger mentioned that and the medical medium Anthony William said that Hawaiian spirulina is the only acceptable one. Just another perspective so take it for what it’s worth ❤

I always thought that if a product didn’t say certified organic and it just said organic that it wasn’t organic but I could be wrong
Yep, typically that is the case! Sometimes there are other organic certifications but USDA is the most common.
