Yes, Brian Boitano is an actual person. He was an Olympic figure skater, which the boys mention in the first verse of the song. However, the boys greatly exaggerate Boitano's heroic feats to mythic levels throughout the rest of the song.
Boitano himself loved being referenced so much that he started skating to the song at performances and events.
Indeed! The joke being that Brian Boitano is pretty much the last figure you'd expect a bunch of 3rd-grade boys in 1999 in Colorado to reference, because there's absolutely no reason they'd know about him at all. It's sort of like when Family Guy did that running gag referencing Conway Twitty.
@@michaelccozens Apparently the entire reason for the Conway Twitty cutaways were because it forced FOX to pay royalties to Conway so Seth was doing it constantly to troll FOX and make them lose money.
@@michaelccozens

@@michaelccozens Also iirc Trey and Matt are genuine fans of him.
“He’s going to naked chicks heaven”. That has to be the best thing ever said in the history of mankind.
"The clitoris advise worked" is better.
My co-worker's sister just moved to America (from Russia, of all places) and this was the first movie we took her to as part of a "Welcome to America" celebration we had for her.
No religion, no ideology, no celeberity is safe from Matt Stone and Trey Parker. If some internet troll gets offended by South Park, its like Pouring Gasoline into the fire. And I love this in South Park.
The TV show is absolutely worth it, but not only that, the South park team has also made two amazing South park RPG games (The stick of truth & Fractured but whole) that look and sound just like the TV episodes and are absolutely amazing
Team America is also an amazing movie made by the South Park creators
agreed
the stick of truth is one of the best rpgs ive ever played (many final fantasy's played). not only is the gameplay great but ive never laughed so hard playing any game in my life. feels like super mario rpg from snes. couldnt really get into fractured but whole i really didnt enjoy the combat system. still funny tho
Fractured but whole is the better game of the two overall imho, but TSoT has better combat and gear.
Fractured but whole dumbed down the gear and combat way too much to accommodate Ubisoft's P2W MTXs style of design that makes no sense in it. RPG looter with no equipment slots, and only flat +to stats items, which you start the game with the best items in the whole game for these slots... such stupid gear/item design compared to TSoT
@@rocko0o
Dasha already reacted to Team America, and it was really great reaction.
I love stick of Truth so much.
I wonder how many parents were outraged at this movie, completely unaware of the irony
Happens a lot. Reminds me of when Dogma was released.
Self awareness is a very rare trait to have.
I saw it in theaters and there were a surprising amount of parents with their kids. Most of those left when the T&P movie song started to play.
4:52 "Oh, wow. How does _she_ know?"
😆😆😆😆 Probably one of the most _awesome_ questions, ever!
The songs will stick in your head for years, great movie
If Robin Williams performs a song during the Oscars, then you can be sure it's an iconic one. He did "Blame Canada". Look it up, it's hilarious. My personal favourite is "Kyle's Mom."
Brian Boitano is a three-time Olympian and Olympic gold medalist in figure skating.
I was working in a movie theater when this came out. We played a midnight closed show for our friends, so much fun!
That sounds amazing!
George Clooney being the doctor always makes me laugh. 'IT. DOESN’T. GET. ANY. EASIER!' *whistles nonchalantly*😂😂
Seeing this in the theater was such an experience. I lost it when Cartman said "I'm sorry", then pulled out the bullhorn in the classroom... and not soon after the epic ' 5 days and doesn't die'. There was about 2 beats of dead silence then the audience just lost it. One of the rare films I literally couldn't catch my breath from laughing so hard. And as you say... the soundtrack is terrific.
Uncle F**ka made me hyperventilate in the theatre. I totally didn't see it coming. It's so relentless. I couldn't stop laughing long enough to breathe.
It’s not just you. Trey Parker and Matt Stone love adding dirty jokes wherever they can. “Bigger, Longer and Uncut” is actually one of their more subtle dirty jokes. They also made a video game called “Fractured but whole” .
What I like about South Park is that NO ONE is safe. They will make fun of anyone and anything. And Terence and Philip is how they make fun of South Park itself. This movie predicted its own controversy fairly accurately
agreed
The story behind "The Fractured But Whole" name is great.
They wanted to call it "The Butthole of Time", but were told no stores would sell a game with Butthole in the title.
The original title was going to be All Hell Breaks Loose, but MPAA objected to "Hell." My understanding is that they decided to come up with something much more offensive, expecting it to also be rejected, but the MPAA totally didn't get that it was a joke.
@@FrozZzenFuryThe Fractured But Whole is a much better name anyway, it fits the story incredibly well both with and without the innuendo meaning. Fractured but Whole referring to the Freedom Pals and Coon and Friends and being fractured parts of a bigger whole. And also new kids actual asshole being fractured.
@@FrozZzenFury "But Whole" still sounds like "Butthole". Execs are stupid
South Park's Satan is definitely 1 of the strangest portrayals of him, yet he's also 1 of the most interestingly developed (if that makes any sense).
He's got quite the character arc.
Word😂
I think one of my favorite scenes of Southpark Satan is when he explains addiction. The fact that it's Satan, but he's just laying out the facts and trying to be helpful always makes me laugh. That and the Ferrari Cake episode.
He’s also one of the most grounded characters in the universe
South Park is still good after all these years. Those creators are some of the smartest Americans and I respect their style. Terrence and Philip causing chaos and Sadam abusing Satan was pretty funny.
now they're going after Disney and its hilarious 😂
As an old time fan i just can't get into the later seasons (season 18+) but still appreciate the art
I can watch movies with u forever my love!
12:00 Brian Boitano was an US Olympic skater. The joke is that athletes are called "Hero's".
Yes, the title has a deliberate double meaning.
Definite double entender
It’s pretty obvious
(Kenny says something)
Dasha: I don't know what he's saying!
Me: Mission accomplished, darlin'.
In South Park lore only the Mormons go to heaven. Everyone else goes to hell. It’s been an ongoing joke from the beginning of the show.
Great reaction to South Park! Love the glasses, Dasha! Love the reactions !
Bryan Adams is a famous musician from Canada
Yeah, but brian botiano is or was a profesional ice skater
"The Canadian government has apologized several times for Bryan Adams." It will never be enough, leaf lovers. Never.
The creators of South Park Matt Stone & Trey Parker are master trolls! They learned that if the movie had 500 swear words, it would get the NC-17 rating & be banned from most theaters.
The movie has exactly 499! 😁
OMG that was the most entertaining reaction to the South Park movie I've ever seen. Your quick wit reacting to some of the more shocking jokes had me laughing as hard as I was the first time I saw this decades ago 🤣🤣 I really needed the laughs today and you def delivered, Dasha, thanks! ❤
The glasses look great and this is a 10/10 reaction. South Park has always been fantastic.
I absolutely love the Les Miserables reference in the La Resistance Medley, especially since I hadn't seen or heard Les Mis when this movie first came out and it made for a shocking and hilarious connection in my head once I finally got into musical theatre and heard One Day More for the first time. Matt and Stone are musical geniuses as this movie, Cannibal: The Musical and, of course, The Book of Mormon fully prove.
Fun fact about this movie George Clooney voiced one of the doctors.
Kanny taking of his hood was actualyl a pretty big deal back then lol, it was his first face reveal!
Still love that they got George Clooney to play the Doctor in this. For younger viewers, he played a doctor for several years in a TV series called ER back in the 1990's.
8:15 "Greatest question of all time." 19:05 " I like that he is still pursuing the clitoris idea." Damn right ... never give up ... never surrender.
"...They're all so friendy...-ish."🤣 Great timing, Dasha!
was 30 when this came out. was a delight seeing a young person experience it. thanks
This was one of the two big adult cartoon movies from TV shows at that time, the other is Beavis & Butthead Do America. That's also worth a watch. Kung Pow: Enter The Fist is also an oddball cult classic that will have you in stitches.
5:10 "yes." -dasha
“I like how she’s not stopping. She’s letting him finish before she takes it out on him.”
Dasha just indirectly learned a rule from Sun Tzu’s Art of War: “Never interrupt your opponent while they’re making a mistake”.
Brian Boitano was mentioned in the very first South Park. It was part of a joke about how kids don't look up to famous athletes at all.
Damn she looks like a Hot young teacher 🤭🔥
8:12 "the greatest question of all times." -dasha
5:08 - 5:22
Stan: "Chef, how do you make a woman like you more than any other guy?"
Chef: "Oh you just have to find the clitoris."
Dasha: Well, you know, that's going to help. In future just remember that."
Cartman: "Is that like finding Jesus or something?"
Dasha: "Well, you know, I cant really say it without a smile, but yes. 😅 ❤
🎆🎇"You know what? Maybe I should actually watch the TV show now too."🎉🎊
✅👍🗣 YES❗YES ‼YES ‼❗South Park is crass yet brilliant, silly but deep, often with profound social commentary. Tailor-made for Dasha's sense of humor.⚡🤓⚡
Bonus: Every episode is like finding the 🧁all over again, and 👄👅🧁for the 1st time!
Comedy is the best genre for reaction videos.
I'm dating myself here, but I and my friends went to the premiere in the theater opening weekend. The only other movie that made me laugh that hard in the first 30 minutes was "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist".
Also, about Cartman's mom, the running gag in the series is that she's had sex with practically every adult in South Park and has a really high body count outside of South Park.
How long have you been dating yourself?
@@coloradochris3952 Not long enough
I was high when I saw this in the theater. People were genuinely annoyed at how hard me and my friend were laughing. It was uncontrollable.
Same here. I remember they were carding everyone in line to see the movie. Once when you bought the ticket and a second time just before entering the theater.
You look so cute in your glasses. Beautiful as always.
Brian Boitano is an ice figure skater.
Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation which freed the slaves.
Everyone was more afraid of Saddam than of Satan.
Saddam is a narcissist and will never change. Say no to toxic relationships.
"Blame Canada", was nominated for best original song at the Academy Awards and Robin Williams sang that song at the 1999 Oscars.
We all know that Canada isn't a real country anyways. With their beady little eyes and flapping heads. 😂
This movie is among my 3 favorite musicals. Along with Disney's animated, "Beauty And The Beast" & "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." ✌️❤️🌹
It's the greatest TV show of all time. You might enjoy the movie Team America: World Police too.
She already did Team America. You should check it out.
@@tonyrossell832 I will... in fact, maybe I already did but forgot
"I don't know what to say."
Don't think just laugh.
They did a concert in Denver last year with a lot of these songs. It's worth looking up the video.
So for a bit of historical context, in the 90s there was an effort to restrict access to “obscene” and profane content by use of technology in the TV itself, which was referred to as a V chip. So when Cartman complained about his V chip giving him electric shocks, it was a reference to that.
I don’t really remember what became of this. I think it was just rolled into the increasingly sophisticated settings offered by the onboard firmware of new TVs.
A true classic, a perfect breakdown of the idiocy that is American censorship, some great songs, and hilarious writing as well. I love this movie. Yes, Bigger, Longer, and Uncut is a dick joke, which they snuck in when their original title, South Park: All Hell Breaks Loose was rejected by the MPAA.
On the catchiness of the songs, Steven Sondheim agreed. He wrote a letter to Matt Stone and Trey Parker complimenting them on the best musical he’d seen in years. They said that letter meant more to them than any award they could ever win. Pretty high praise form the guy who wrote West Side Story, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, and dozens more. They also wrote back, jokingly, saying, “We think you’ve written some good ones too.”
Old people remember that there was an actual v-chip at this time, that this movie was specifically referring to. Not hypothetical at all.
The South Park movie has many great songs, I still listen to them over 20 years later 😎
On a similar subject, movie Canadian Bacon has real people from Canada like John Candy who go to war with Canada. Hilarious!
South Park began in 1997 & it has 26 seasons.
It’s been popular ever since.
And the main characters are still in the 4th grade.
Don't feel bad, we were all thinking of that other ping pong ball trick.
This movie is so outrageous, its glorious. Every song is amazing. Love this movie.
Just wait until you see the title of the South Park video game, The Fractured But Whole 😏
The SP guys have always written great songs, that's why they ultimately went to Broadway and Book of Mormon became insanely acclaimed.
I saw this in the theaters, and there was a guy that brought his 10 year old 😂
Brian Adams is a Singer lol. Popular in the 80's
Yes, absolutely watch more south park on here....👍👍👍
I saw this movie in the theater when it came out with my older brother. And we couldn't stop laughing
I remember back when this first came out, I was in the 1st grade. My friend had gotten the CD soundtrack for the movie and let me borrow it. Then I showed it to my dad, who I thought would think it was funny. But he questioned where I got it and told my mom, and they took it away from me. I was worried because I didn't think I would be able to return it to my friend. But I was able to after a couple of days.
Eventually dad loved the show, but back then, I don't know if he even knew about the show, because it was still in it's infancy. I think it first started to air the same year, in 1999.
The look on your face throughout this movie was the best part.
Trey and Matt are comedic geniuses. I went to see this movie when I was 15 I talked my dad's girlfriend at the time into coming with me and well she had no idea what Southpark was. Southpark has a new episode coming out in 2 days it is sure to piss people off with the subject matter in the trailer.
Cartman's mom is the town bicycle
Yes! Watch the series. It's great :)
People forget that this film was nominated for Best Original Song for "Blame Canada" at the 72nd Academy Awards.
Dasha's reaction to this film was priceless! 😂
I've actually been to South Park, Colorado when I was 13 and 14 years old.
I didn't go there because of the show. It was just a coincidence that it was next to the mountain where I traveled 900+ miles to hunt elk. Just like the opening song says, it really was a quiet little mountain town. That was around 2005-2006.
In this movie, when Kenny shows his face, is the only time on South Park you see his face completely, we see his face as mysterion but even then he has a mask
You see his face in the Super Best Friends episode.
Brian Boitano was an Olympic figure skating champion. He's supposed to represent a hero who children would look up to in the movie. They didn't have Brian Boitano's permission to reference him in the movie, but he is fully aware of the movie and he loves it.
Great job Dasha! This is one of my favorite reactions! The South Park movie is up there in my favorite movies and your reaction was pure gold. I like the glasses, they look good. You should definitely check out more South Park. Keep up the fantastic work.
One the best funny movie that was ever made ! 😆😂🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽
I think it was super cute when she went full Canadian eh
My grandad was in his 70s when this came about. He loved it even though its unbelievably childish
Yes, the title is dirty on purpose. Just like they called their game South Park: Fractured but Whole to avoid censorship but keep the main idea.
The soundtrack is class 😂
She's looks adorable in her glasses 😊 I hope she had fun watching this damn movie. I thought the songs were catchy too 😅
The split headed cartoon characters are Canadian.
4:32 "i cannot imagine anyone saying that in school" You have a lot to learn about American schools XD
Dasha looks much smarter when she wears glasses.
The TV show is ABSOLUTELY worth it!
Especially seeing as it seems that your sense of humor (while watching this movie) is pretty well in tune with everything you would see in a South Park episode.
The writers, Matt Stone and Trye Parker, are brilliant!
They worked and directed: "Team America: World Police" and they wrote and directed the wildly successful Broadway Show: "The Book of Moromon"
I honestly cannot think of anything that they have created that I didn't enjoy! That includes their movies, Baseketball and Orgasmo.
😄👍 When I saw this in a theater back when it came out, the part at 16:05, when Bill Gates gets shot, caused the audience to roar it's approval rather loudly. 🥳 Be thankful that you're too young to know about the horror that was "Windows 98."
Still better than Windows ME :P
How can someone not find it? I mean it's right there.
I saw this movie opening night in the theatre. 25% of the theatre got up and left during "Uncle Fucker" the rest that stayed ROARED in laughter the entire time. It was an fantastic movie theatre experience.
Oh yes, "South Park" the TV show is very worth it. Heh. And now you must watch "Team America: World Police" and "Cannibal, the Musical."
She already did Team America. You should check it out.
South Park is rated of one of the best comedies ever made of all time yes you should definitely watch it
Shout out to whoever had to censor this video
While the show has some real jewels, it also is known for being highly topical, mocking events from the news while they're still in the news. Of course, this also means that if you're trying to catch up on the many years of accumulated episodes, there's going to be many jokes you won't get because they're no longer relevant. You're probably best off looking for compilations of the best episodes, or specific recommendations.
I get what you're saying, but I'm not sure about that. Rewatching old episodes, the jokes are usually about the issues being raised, rather than the current events that specifically raised them. While Matt and Trey occasionally have some mind-numbingly dumb political takes (eg. "the motive for a crime shouldn't affect the sentencing", re: hate crimes? So deliberate pre-meditated murder should rate the same sentence as inadvertently killing someone with your car? Just silly), some of which they've since learned better about, the jokes themselves seem pretty timeless, or, at least, don't require too much knowledge of the current events of the day.
@@michaelccozens Ah, but is that what Brian Boitano would do? If millennials even knew who he was, I mean.
@@davidmills8726He'd surely kick an ass or two, we know that much.
Its a good point, but I think that was part of the joke at the time, too. Nobody watching had any idea who Boitano was in 1999, either, let alone some 3rd grade Colorado boys knowing who the 1988 Olympic champ in men's figure skating was.
I hear Boitano skates to the song now. Gotta love folks who don't take themselves too seriously!
making derogatory jokes takes it's power away via everyone laughing at it together , when you try to censor and ban and create consequences all your doing is giving it more power ... now saying that everyone has to get it all the same , you make jokes about everyone equally , not singling anyone out ... this is what's great about a south park or a dave chappelle they go at everyone equally
how you edited this has me dumbfounded ....... salute to you
I never ever thought I would see you react to this movie! The joke of a guy not knowing where the clitoris is was lost on me when I first watched this as a kid but now I'm older and I laugh so hard Everytime I hear that.
I relate to Satan, I am a big scary looking gentleman who was married to a small cute psychopathic abuser. No one looking at us would ever assume what was happening.
South park show is absolutely worth it.
I remember being genuinely shocked when Cartman said "I don't have any Jewish candy." The next five minutes were... recalibrating.
'Uncle F**cker' should have been the Oscar-nominated song.
But they went the safe route and nominated 'Blame Canada'.
All those naughty, dirty things that were hinted and indicated, like the title or the the Wynona Rider ping pong ball trick, yes, you can be sure they were totally meant to be naughty. It's not your imagination. In fact, we guys love you for it... hehehe...
The shows creators are really talented when it comes to writing songs. They even made an acclaimed Broadway play called, The Book of Mormon.
Thanks! Merry Christmas!
5:12 challenge accepted
Such a fun reation well done Dasha.
If I remember correctly, this was actually nominated for an Oscar for the music.
The swearing feels like home (Western Sydney), love it!
After I first watched this movie in a theater, I left there and immediately went and bought the soundtrack
