Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning. Хобби
Very sweet ornament. No matter what size tree you had, it could be resized to be proportional, along with your many other ornaments. Thanks for sharing and showing folks that even little scraps can make for a beautiful project.
Thank you!!
Very nice and an unique gift idea.
Thank you Tom!
You’re the only wood worker I’ve heard describe what he’s doing. Awesome!
You should check out my videos on my channel Hampton Woodturnings. Just like Carl, I also go into great detail in what I'm doing while woodturning the projects I'm teaching.
Thank you Linda!!
You’re very welcome
Brilliant as always Carl.
Love it.
Take care.
Cheers, Huw
Thank you so much Huw!
Crafty Carl that's not an ornament that's a work of art 👍👍 I reckon one twice the size "wood" be even more impressive
Thank you very much Chris :)
Ahh, Carl's creativity always fills the gap. Great piece, sir!
Thank you kindly Jay!
HI carl that's a super good piece. weldone. love it.

Oh boy, another ornament design to add to my holiday repertoire. Thanks Carl!

¡Muchas gracias!
That is a cool little project . I am going to try one of those myself. 🤞 See if I am skilled enough to pull it off. Thanks for that idea.
Thank you John! It's a great project, have fun!
Beautiful little ornament . Bea safe have a great weekend take care .
Thank you buddy, have a great weekend 😀
Gorgeous!
Thank you!
Thanks, Carl! Beautifully done!
Thank you buddy!
That looks awesome! I might do something similar myself. It's kind of a tradition now that every year, I cut the Christmas tree up and turn something out of the trunk (little pot, bowl, ornament etc) The finial you made here looks like black palm to me. I turned a few pens with it and it looks very similar.
Thank you Chris!! Very cool! What a great tradition :)
Very cool design. I think I’ll try to do a few
Thank you, it's a fun one 😀
Beautiful ornament! Thanks for the nice description of how you turned it.
Thank you Kathy!
Great piece! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you John!
Very nice ornament Carl.
Thank you buddy!
Nice work, that was fast and easy, really like the lower finial. Looks awesome, great job
Thank you very much Vern!!
Very beautiful Carl and an excellent job turning it as well!!!
I enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank you very much!
Nicely done, Carl. Turned out beautiful.
Thank you Ward!
Great Christmas ornament. Really nice wood choice even though it was just random. Nicely shaped finials. They really set off the bowl portion. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thank you so much Glen! Take care
The dark Wood is Wenge , very nice Wood . I use it a lot for Pens
Thank you, I wasn't sure.
Very cool.
Thank you Andrew!
Beautiful piece Carl. It kind of makes me think of Ashley Harwoods sea urchin ornaments in a way. If I were to make something like that and similar in size would it be a bit to big to hang on a Christmas tree though 🤔, my wife would probably think so and want to just set it on the kitchen table or entertainment center lol. Excellent work as always Carl, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Scott!! It might be a little big for a smaller tree, but would hang great in a window.
Fantastic X-Mas ornament Carl! Hope that you guys are doing well! 👍👍🌲🌲
Thank you Steve!!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Matt! We really appreciate it! :)
Very nice
Thank you Jim!
Rite Carl Dude, really nice piece! Hang it from the tall finial and put a few chocs in the bowl. TFS, GB :)
Great idea! Thanks so much!
Very pretty! It's been a long time since I've seen anyone do an elegant finial like that. Turners seem to be favoring just round knows lately.
Thank you very much Karen!
Sweet looking ornament Carl!! The ornament wood looked like plum or something and the finial looked like morning wood! 😃😃🤙🏼🤙🏼🇺🇸
Thanks buddy! Plum is a good guess I'm not sure about the other 😀
@@CarlJacobson 😃😃😃
Nice, Carl. Go back to that firewood pile and get some more lathe fodder.
Bill
Right?! Thank you Bill
Nice, Check the Janka Scale for the wood that ya dont know, it will say it on there.... probably :D
LOL....It probably Maple and Walnut 😂😂😂
@@CarlJacobsonyeah the probability of that is high 😂
The finial is wenge, I know that wood well. 😉
Thank you, I wasn't sure.
🦾🦾🦾🦾
Thanks buddy!
The dark Wood could be Wenge.
Banana-Pickaxe.
Lol
