  • wood turning a christmas ornaments In this video I make my first sucessful Christmas Ornament. I use some of my Norway Maple to make my hollow form globe and turn some walnut for the final and the cap. I am pleased with the results.

    Can you tell me the "rough" dimensions
    of your maple blanks (for the hollowed-out bulbs)? Is it like 3-1/2" square blanks?

      It was likely 3 to 3 1/2". However, I have made ornaments of almost any size, and shape. I try to not get pinned down on a particular size or shape. Thanks for watching!

    Is the finish you used just paste wax or something in a paste wax can? I used poly on my first ones but I like feed n wax orange on walnut not.

      On that piece I did use only paste wax. Most ornaments I make now, I spray with semi gloss lacquer.

    What type of jaws are you using on the chuck, dont think I have ever seen them before
