Brailsford Woodworks
США
Добавлен 16 янв 2020
My passion for woodworking started when I was a small boy. My father did limited woodworking projects for the house I grew up in. Whenever he would go to buy lumber I would love to tag along because I loved the smell and feel of a lumber store.
When I got married and moved out I purchased my first major tool, a Craftsman contractor table saw. Thirty three years later I am a self taught woodworker who's projects range from billiard tables to turned bowls.
I moved into my forever home in rural North Carolina in 2018. I had the long leaf and loblolly pines milled into beams and I hand crafted my own timber framed work shop. It is my dream shop and I now have the space and opportunity to expand my craft.
My passion is now wood turning and making end grain cutting boards. Please join me in my wood working journey.

Find Buy Tool Table Saw Blade Review
table saw blade review. I am given the opportunity to try a saw blade from Find Buy Tool. They are a Hong Kong based tool company that sells a wide variety of wood and metal working tools.

They sent me their 10" 60 tooth table saw blade. I test it on a variety of woods from soft to very hard. I both cross cut and ripped all of the wood.

How I survived a Heart Attack. This is the story of how I survived the heart attack that I had on May 11. They had to perform CPR on me as well as use an AED. Only less than 10% of people survive CPR in the field. I feel completely blessed by all of the people who jumped in to save my life. #cpr #survivecpr #heartattack #cardiacarrest #brailsfordwoodworks

Great review. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Doug!
Thank you so much, Mike! nice review! 👍Happy Thanksgiving!
I am glad you like it! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
Hello again Mike. You seem to be keeping well. A 60 tooth blade for ripping! I do like your table saw. Mine isn’t as substantial but it does have a small sliding carriage which is so useful. Have a great week 🌞
Hey Ray! I am doing great! Thanks for noticing! As for ripping, it is because that is what the blade manufacturer claimed. It did fine.
Awesome video brother. Nice blade. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an amazing day. Much love and RESPECT. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family
Thanks Tim! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well!
Yay! 1st! 🎉
Yes sir! Thanks for watching!
Great looking bird houses. When you were roughing the outside of the bodies you had your chuck mounted to your tailstock - how did you have it connected?
Thank you Martin! I use a tail stock chuck adapter. www.amazon.com/ACTOOLS-Tailstock-Chuck-Adapter-Thread/dp/B09W5CF1TN/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2E7EDC5Y7MU2X&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.r3aqzv_yt3P-RNI5kgAKieXUdkl1BwrvYHTBr1d4-OEkA__mkWgNp2QP_X1SyZ_uuvf7a-7joobox-BLaScHWvU-Ff-lvGTv4zox6LL_nNlmqmRRgf0V_rgqFEbKTrDBz6H8zNuLWhQLJ4qTWT01lNHxoefVBs3DBuP3d5uwr87NA-BeEcBkvc_EU_UpyuU4QlVk5UTGYnKmpfNGzz9jQRzClL7I3aSXiAf-CB84M2k.EMFSGojXY510C59SoBl_CrW1KUcQ4fWPJFvBga11Jjc&dib_tag=se&keywords=tailstock+chuck+adapter+mt2&qid=1732452914&sprefix=tail+stock+chu%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
@BrailsfordWoodworks thanks, that makes a lot of sense 👍
They all look great, with the variety there’s plenty diversity to choose from.
Thank you Lee! This batch will give me enough for the rest of the year. Then I will get started on a new batch in February.
Of all the birdhouses I’ve seen you do, I think this is the nicest one to date. Excellent!
Thanks Doug. I decided to change up the bodies a little more than usual.
Incredible video MIKE. Thanks for sharing. Hope you and the family have a Happy Thanksgiving. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT brother
Thank you Tim! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Very nice work!
Thank you Ken!
What is the diameter and height of the inside of your cylinder. What size hole do you cut for the bird and how far from the bottom is it?
The hole is 1.5". It is roughly 4"internal diameter and about 6 inches from the very bottom. I will say I am a woodturning artist not an ornithologist. Additionally I can say this, several customers have contacted me and told me they had birds. Thanks for watching!
Mike, I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words Russell!
Do you sand in between coats?
I do, lightly with either 320 or 400 grit. Thanks for watching!
Great stuff 👏 👍
Thank you Glenn!
That came out beautifully! Loving the new editing style! Vast improvement 👍👍👍 ❤
Thanks Richard! I was hoping it would look better!
That’s rather nice and its good to catch up with you again 🌞
Thank you Ray! I agree!
Cool project, very creative! I found your channel while looking for videos featuring the Clark deep hollowing system. Do you recommend it? Do you ever wish you had gotten another system? Favorite/must have accessories?
It was one of the best deals out there for deep hollowing systems. Without having used another system it would be difficult to say whether I like it more or less than others. I will say I do like it. I like the results I get. It is very heavy duty. Thanks for watching!
So thankful for the many folks who stepped up to help y'all out! And thanks for sharing your experience. Best wishes to your family.
Thank you Todd! I feel truly blessed by all of the people who helped out. It was really amazing to meet all of these folks!
Fantastic idea beautifully executed Mike. I love it. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
I watched these videos out of order. I'm glad I came back to see this video. I really learned a lot. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks! I am glad you got something out of it!
Amazing! I have tried to think of a way to turn spheres, and your technique seems amazingly simple. You probably have the tuning experience behind it and shaving sharp tools to make it look easy. I am sold, I am going to sharpen my knives and try your technique. Thank you for sharing!
I hope you have great results! it takes creating some muscle memory! I found after doing a few, that I don't always feel obligated to make a sphere. I like to change it up! Thanks for watching!
That is one beautiful piece MIKE. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT
Thank you Tim! I appreciate you watching and letting me know you are watching!
Great jug. The colors of the various wood plugs are great.
Thanks Doug! It was a fun project to work on!
1st🎉
Thanks Huw! Pinned this comment!
Mike - GREAT recount of your episode! I am also a woodturner and also had a heart attack on July 4th, 2024. Mine did not result in cardiac arrest and was a NSTEMI event, so I was quite fortunate. I also had 100% occlusion of the OM segment of the Circumflex artery, and was the recipient of a 22 mm stent that resolved my blockage and restored circulation. I am very happy you are doing well, and can personally relate to every part of your description! Fortunately, I got to the ER early, and following ECG and bloodwork (confirming elevated troponin levels), I was put on heparin and awaited an echocardiogram and eventually a visit to the cath lab. Stay well, watch those fats/cholesterol, and exercise - I hope you did a cardiac rehab program (mine was excellent!), and that you continue with an enjoyable, healthy life!
I am down 69 pounds and I also attended cardiac rehab. It really was great and helped get me on the right track! Thanks for watching! I am happy you are doing well! Sorry you went through it!
What is the minwax spray finish you used? Finished product looks great!
It is Minwax spray lacquer. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing Mike.
Thanks Jack!
Amen and I'm glad God gave grace, power, and the folks who weren't afraid to do what they could to help you. Bless you and your entire family Mike.
Thank you Steve!
I lost so much sleep wandering if you made it. A week later, I finally messaged the Vintage Market website to ask that question. I didn't hear back from them that day. However, when I was leaving work that afternoon, my phone rang. I answered and you said, "Hello Bonnie. My name is Mike Brailsford. I am the gentleman whose life you helped save." I had to pull off the road to take that call. Words cannot describe the thankfulness that my prayers had been answered. It was a beautiful thing to be able to speak with you and Carol on the phone that day. It was also beautiful to see you at the show this past weekend. You look amazing! You and your family will forever hold a special place in my heart!
You are in my heart as well Bonnie!
Thank you Bonnie, for anything and everything you did to keep my friend alive! ❤❤❤
This is not an unbiased review, and sanding without dust extraction is foolish. You cannot make a proper comparison without using the other tool. Don't even begin to compare if you are not using dust extraction either. Attaching a vacuum clears the paper and keeps it working better for longer.
noted.
Mike, we do serve a faith God . Jan 21, 2024, was my event day. Gods not finished with us yet!!!!
No sir! When you experience him in such an "in your face way" you can't help but see him. CS Lewis said, "God whispers to us in our pleasures and shouts to us in our pain". or something to that effect. Thanks for watching!
FAITHFUL
That was so moving Mike. I do hope we can meet when you visit the UK. Go safe 🌞
Thank you Ray! I would like that! Where in the UK are you? I can then let our activities director know (my sister in law) and see how to work it in! Thanks for watching!
Good grief Mike that must have been horrific for you and your family. I'm so pleased that you are still here with us and I would also like to add my thanks to everyone that helped you on May 11th. Take care my friend and I wish you continued good health. Cheers, Huw
Thank you Huw! I never want to do that again. it did suck.
Incredible story MIKE. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible day. Much love and RESPECT
Thank you Tim! I appreciate you watching and letting me know you are there!
So glad you got through this. Hope all is well with you and your family now. As a fellow heart patient (Pacemaker AF & Angina, I had my heart attack in 2016) I feel for you.❤
Thank you! It has been quite the journey for sure. We started 2024 with my wife having breast cancer. The got it very early and all indicators is that she is totally cancer free. Then May 11 happened, and it is very easy to say. "24 sucked", but we are both alive and well, so really 24 is pretty damn good! Thanks for watching!
Such an incredible story. I am not one to believe in luck. Instead I believe God was watching over you. It’s been great to see your recovery and watch your weight loss. I’m so very happy for you. Continued prayer as you continue on this journey God has set you on.
Thank you Doug! All the credit goes to him!
Remarkable and shocking story! I am so glad you and your family weathered the hurricane and I sincerely thank you for sharing the tale. It makes me think about refreshing my CPR chops.
Thank you Donovan! I hope you do! I also need to take a CPR class again and get back into that game!
Nice to know there are good people out there. Glad you made it.
Thank you Sean! There are great people out there!
Thanks for sharing this emotional and unbeknowningly providential experience
Thank you Lee! It was providential indeed!
I must try harder.
Sharp tools work from the top back. Watch Ashley Harwood's videos on it. Thanks for watching!
The grass gouging with those tires isn't bad if you make wide turns in the -good- grass. It WILL gouge anytime your turning in 4 wheel drive. lol. Your gonna love the head lights, they are really bright! You can easily raise the windshield to cover the gap at the top as rain will come in there when at speed. I did a lot of looking and measuring to get an after market rear window/canvas. It's near perfect but way less then the factory one. You can also find the same mirrors as stock online also and believe it or not they were only a few dollars less the the factory ones they used. This spring I had to take it to the shop to replace one of the front transmission universal boots that looked like it dried out and cracked. Warrantied no problem. They say they're around 80% American made so parts shouldn't be a problem? I looked at a LOT of reviews for most of the cheaper SxS ones and it was either, couldn't get parts or they had a hard time getting them worked on. It was hit or miss with them all. I got a new L5W (the wider version of the L5 tho I think they're all the same now) in early "22 but not really sure exactly what year it is as mine was also sitting on the lot for a bit it looked like. But in the PNW it doesn't take long to look a bit weathered. Mine doesn't have the whine but I think my engine is that much louder. I believe they were starting to upgrade everything in '23 so things have changed. The wife got tired of connecting/disconnecting the trailer to the mower just to water the plants or picking up branch's, etc,. I have a tractor so don't need to carry much, only have 5 acres so don't need to do 45 or 50 mph. The newer ones have a couple of more HP so that should make it just right. I have a neighbor that has a -really- steep driveway and I can keep the pedal to the floor and it will hold it''s speed with 2 people and around a 100lb water tank in the back but no more.
That makes me feel great about the purchase! I do need to ask if the whine is normal? Or do I need to take it in? Thanks for watching!
@@BrailsfordWoodworks I would at least ask the dealer about it. If anything maybe record it and send it via e-mail if you live a ways from the dealer. That way you have notified them in case anything happens down the road. It just depends on the dealer on how they handle things. I know they upgraded quite a few things from mine so the drive train may even be different. I only have around 70 hrs on mine and every things been great so far.
Your hand was in the way when you tied the para cord
Camera angles can be tough. Sorry. Thanks for watching anyway.
The footage was so speeded up that we couldn’t actually tell what you were doing !
Getting a point across in a timely manner is also tough. Sorry. Thanks for watching anyway.
Very nice. Thank you
Thank you for watching!
Good looking rig. It should service you well for many years. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Doug!
Nice ride. Some of those are really nice. We have a couple of the Axis's from Lowes at work. Cheaper brand but run exceptionally well. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible day. Much love and RESPECT brother
Thank you Tim!
I hear a wine when its running, not sure if its the CVT or what, but that would get to me after a while, I would have to use some hearing protection, its at a range that would drive me crazy, wow
I am going to ask about that. Thanks for watching!
Yes, that could be deal breaker for me..... unless it was a supercharger🤗 I'm surprised a low range option isn't included too considering the sport " utility " nature.
great job
Thank you!
Thank you for showing your process! I especially appreciated the part with the drawknife, as I have just purchased one for my own beginner project and can’t wait to use it❤
Have fun! Thanks for watching!
Sorry to hear you had a heart attack. I hope you’re well now!
Hey Joshua! Great hearing from you! I am doing much better! I hope you are doing well!
