Supposed to check ring gap with a feeler gauge in the cylinder before you put them on the piston .
That part didn’t make it into the video but your are correct. We checked the gaps they were in spec
think about doing a maintenance/repair video on a 230cc trail bike their very common - at least were I live.

Yeah thoose pistons have that added black coating on the side which is supposed to lower temps and reduce friction

The cylinder on eBay was 445 the piston was 159.
Didn't lubrication the piston and rings and cylinder??
We always use a paint brush and oil to lightly lubricate the cylinder prior to installing the piston.
