Warrior is my favorite. If you want to hit like a grown ass man, you pick warrior. Killed a gore chimera with one AoD from full health after fighting the Dragon at relevant level and gear, literally first thing after leaving post game cassardis. Assassins might have better dps, but Warriors have better dph, knockdown, stagger. And when enemies are staggered or knocked down, they take more damage from everything.
You can't execute any of the full attack animations as Warrior, unless you connect with an object. It took some time to arrange that collection. I felt like a Bull in a China shop. Breaking shit is fun!

@Lich nope you can still easily do it on consoles with digital download. I've never owned the game on disc and always had multiple saves on both Xbox and PS4

I’ll never forget the moment I one-shot the Griffon with Deliverance. That was the moment that made the Warrior one of my favorite classes. I had set up the goblin as bait, waited for it to appear on screen, charged up Deliverance, and as soon as it touched the ground, WHAM! It just dropped!

I recently started playing a warrior and my goodness, I'm having more fun out of him than when playing the MK, MA, Rngr or Sorc! The sheer crunchiness of those hits and the power of warrior gameplay made me forget those other classes. Great video and tips! I also had NO IDEA a warrior doesn't need a pickaxe to mine! Makes sense, just smash the rocks! LOL!
Warrior is one of the most fun vocations in the game imo, a lot of people feel gimped by the lack of 3 other skills, but honestly with pommel strike, indomitable lash, and exodus slash you already have everything you need.
warrior is my favorite vocation in the game. i wish they could pick 6 skills. i really have no clue how they didnt think the other OP vocations were completely fine with having 6 skills, but the warrior cant o_0? such an odd "balance" choice. i still have fun with it, but i definitely woulda put alot more time into the game if i could actually have 6 skills to cool shit while i swing around a massive sword.
i could see them doing it purposefully if warrior was one of the earlier vocations created. warrior is stronger than people realize, so limiting em cus they can take out 2-3 levels of healthbar in a single hit is understandable. but that idea of "balance" had to of been thrown out the window when they were doing the other vocations. for the better, cus becoming super OP is fun in a way, and ppl can hinder themselves if they want it to be more "fair". and then must of forgotten about poor ol' warrior and never updated em. sad too, cus they coulda rectified it in dark arisen expansion ; / which if i didnt have powerful pawns with me, i woulda been SCREWED going through it.
I can see what you are saying, and many have said, though, honestly I don't think I could fill 6 slots for Warrior. I could fit 4, but I am quite content with 3. I always need Pommel Bash, and I always need Exodus Slash, and then the 3rd determines how my style will be. And actually, even then I typically just use those 2 skills, and the core attacks. I think they did it on purpose. Because the Sorcerer and Mage have one weapon with 6 slots. Maybe the Warrior was designed to be the "Challenge" vocation. For those who wanted to solo with severe handicaps. And that's awesome, I would love that notion. Warrior is bloody funtanstic! And the stats they get fit so well with the role that they play. I am actually having withdraws from Warrior. I have been watching some videos on youtube, and just reminiscing of those fun runs that I have had.
that would be an interesting concept, a super smash bros Melee pichu type character. its not THAT bad, as i got through the base game fine (with help of pawns to counter my lack of ranged or elemental dmg). but compared to what, the magic archer that can kill Death in the first encounter quite easily... warrior does seem intentionally weaker compared to that. 3 skills are fine, when you know what to be prepared for. when going through the game blind, it felt like i was trapped into a specific playstyle. BUT your video does illustrates the two styles that can be done, which atleast can be switched between outside of combat. 4 skills woulda been great, cus i wanted to make a charger style that also had exodus slash for dodge. 6 woulda just been cool to experiment with the other stuff cus of basically only one slot being open. LOL im actually re-install dragons dogma so i can mess around with warrior until MHW comes out. i can thank your vid for that ;p edit: re-installing reminds me why i stoppped... i dont want to fuck up my pawns inclinations ;p
V J I think they did 3 skills only because the idea was each weapon equiped can only ultilizes 3 skills and unfortunately for warriors, unlike other classes, can only use 1 weapon In defense for mage and sorcerer who only have 1 weapon, they are the “smart” people in the fantasy world so they can’t be like the “dumb” rock head barbarian who only have the brain for 3 skills (and would any body play a wizard that only knows 3 spells)
I've beat this game with every class from start to finish. Warrior is underappreciated, but its still the "worst" class and has the hardest time at certain stages of the game. Especially in the DLC area. Fun class, but extremely frustrating with certain bosses that you need to cling to do damage to or have a ranged attack.
Warrior is a love/hat vocation. I can play it every so often, but it does provide frustration with no ranged attacks. And there are lots of enemies that can fly. I find BBI easier with Warrior than Gransys. The Isle is a huge dungeon with rooms and ceilings, while the Gransysy is just open air. For me, it's an occasional class, that can only be tackled when my mindset is ready. But yeah, it sure can be fun
Fighter is worse imo. Warrior has the advantage of having more range and stagger power/resistance. The shield is useless when you can just use the , better to just go MK
I think the 3 vs 6 skills debate is interesting. I think the devs made his core skills so good, that they didn’t want special skill spam becoming a playstyle. However, I wish there were utility skills added that could make the total 6. Shout skills that could do something cool. Like knock over/stagger small enemies in front of you with a Yell. Or a charge ability for a super-jump (Some areas are simply inaccessible to Warrior, which is un-fun).
I can just tell you on the Ranger build. Get to a higher level, can't remember which level it is? Then get the move, "Great Gamble." Congrats you are now a God, just make sure to put on the Conqueror's p something?
I have been following you for years now. Turned DDDA back on excited for DD2 got some achievements and maxing out the last 2 vocations i left undone. Playing as Warrior again and did some cool stuff with act of attonement in BBI, but I couldn't manage to do it again. I just knew that I'd find the answer on your channel! Thanks man! You should either be a playable character in the next game or the all knowing undeafeatable tutorial/ tips and tricks NPC!
Warrior makes me sad...Every attack in a combo should've had it's own delay chain, X+Y attacks, attack + direction inputs, etc. This goes for all classes, but mainly Warrior because of being limited to only 3 skills. For example the retreating slash could just as easily have been Y/∆ + a backwards directional input. Or pummel being X/🔳 + Y/∆ More tools for combat = better combat Edit: fingers crossed for a spiritual successor, with multiplayer co-op as well 🤞🤞
You probably hear this enough, but your schematics videos are very awesome. It made me try vocations that I have always skipped, and I am loving every vocation now. Even Mage. So thanks for all of your efforts and knowledge, and sharing it
Thanks Johhny. I am happy that you tried the other vocations. I also was in that narrow view, until I tried other vocations, and now I like so many of them.
I have an alternate to this. Very very simple. Just make sure to use the augments for more damage to jumping attacks and an augment to boost knockdowns. All flying enemies are knocked down in 2 light jumping attacks. Then use the heavy jumping attack when they fall.
Exodus is akin to a parry per se, and it makes me wish there was more visual/audio feedback of it, like we're batting attacks away. Only noticed when a Cyclops reeled after doing that side sweep while I was mid animation.
@@celtlordcologne110 yeah. Its rare to pull off bc usually it acts as a Dodge, but with Cyclops's club attacks one can pull it off almost 100% of the time. I wish at the very least warriors "off hand" button functioned as a timed block/parry.
I still comeback to watch this, even I'm finished the game few times, what's an amazing player and game, can''t wait for new Dragon's Dogma game coming up.
Great job! Videos like these really help newbies like me figure out how the different classes work. From what I've seen so far, Warrior is really quite a beast, especially against large enemies since Exodus Slash stops them cold and Arc of Deliverance can finish charging by the time they get up (well, except the Drake, that bastard gets up pretty quick). I find myself switching between Pommel Bash and Corona Slash depending on what enemies I'm expecting, Pommel Bash has great stagger while Corona Slash keeps the goblin mobs and direwolf packs under control though I'd imagine I'd be using Pommel Bash exclusively once I get to post-game and Bitterblack Isle since the stagger from it is too awesome and Devastate can sort of sub for Corona Slash.
Thanks Phoenix. Pommel and Exodus are usually 2 I must have equipped. The third changes often, depending on the enemies faced. I like Pommel because it's the Fastest Warrior skill. For something when you need it quickly. 6 Skill slots would be nice, but I am typically satisfied with 3. I still wonder if the 3 slot was intentional or just an overlooked thing.
Got thr platinum awhile back with magic archer and this is one of those games i cant stay away from. Decided to do a warrior playthrough and thid really helps. Thank you
The reason why (PROFICIENCY) is there for the Warrior is because of the ( WARRIORS LONG RANGED ATTACKS) {ARC OF DELIVERANCE and ECLIPTIC SLASH} both are considered long ranged attacks while using them with an {ELEMENTAL WEAPON} equpipped making the vocation sort of like a of WARRIOR/MAGE CLASS (SAMURAI) and are the (WARRIOR’S ONLY LONG RANGED OPTIONS OF ATTACK) but to continually spam them it puts a hefty strain on the stamina without PROFICIENCY equipped as an Augment.
I played warrior for hours on end ever since the Xbox 360 I thought I knew everything until I watched this you are a amazing human being I didn’t even know there were s and thought the vengeance slash only charged to orange thank you
Nice Luis, Thanks for checkin' it out. Exodus Slash is a must for me, when I go Warrior. It's the only evasive skill besides running... And I am not a fan of running.
I have NEVER played a warrior up until a few nights ago and I gotta say I love it! NOW my only gripe with it (besides the obvious lack of range) is playing one on Hard Mode which actually led me to switching to Normal mode as the warriors role was severely handicapped because the stagger rates of enemies are absolutely absurd and I'm not the biggest fan of the charge spells by any means, even my normal swings were being interrupted, I know I can equip rings and augments of course and better armor but I think that takes the fun out of being a powerhouse I am also a fan of creating your own difficulty. But I digress I've been soloing with my Elven Wonder Woman-esque Two Hander with Gryphic Victory for a solid 10 or so hours after playing Strider for such a long time and I just find it hard to go back, the only thing I miss is the mobility.
Yeah, Warrio does struggle with alot, but ultimately I think that's why they created it, for those who mastered all of the other vocations, and had no struggles as them, here's a vocation that is handicapped and restricted for that fun factor again.
I recently took the game again and this time i decided to warrior my way the first run (will roulette vocations but war will stay on the longest) and your guide still to this day makes it so much easier. Just watching it and i already have 4 builds in mind, with different pawn usage and parties. But in hard mode lvl 10, most enemies do hurt me. It's really the hardest hard mode i think >.< No wonder this vocation still doesn't get all the love it deserve when the skill floor is this high. There are talks of a dragon's dogma 2 possibly announced soon, i do hope it's true, and if it is, that you would do us the honor of maybe a playthrough, that'd be dope to see. Also dragon's dogma online is seeing some love those days, the private servers are slowly being build, i always wondered if you did try it and what were your thoughts on it. In any case, thanks for your content, even after all those years, this game is still lively because of the active community and the content it got back then !
Warrior really should have 6 skill slots. In terms of crowd control its avarage when all skills are focussed on that. good in terms of damage but loses way too much speed. I have whirlwind slash, arc of deliverance and indomitable slash. These just work the best for me and i still feel like i'm about half of what i should be. I see my mage pawns do the exact same damage as i do, if not more while also being ranged and having some good defense skills. My strider build had mobility, speed double jump and what it lacked in damage (If i climbed a big foe i could easily use 100 kisses to devastate enemy health while only using stamina to activate. If warriors could charge Arc of deliverance or indomitable slash while on an enemy i feel it would be a step in the right direction.
I've played through this game at least 5 times on 3 consoles, and didn't know exodus slash lead into a combo until now.... So many things still to learn. Checking out your MK video next!
fucking stared dying from laughter when you showcased the pommel strike/pommel bash move, it's great for fast attack and staggering... gets knocked down, the goblin starts stomping on you
I have just reached the great Northern wall (first playthrough) as mystic Knight. I've been to BBI a few times earlier in the game and of course could only get so far. However, once I finish the main quest I want to start a new game and play warrior, this looks very fun. Any recommendations for what pawn class to have as a sidekick?
All you're really missing is that the Ecliptic Slash (level 3 Corona Slash) has a double hitbox for weapon damage at the tip, which can massively improve DPS. Also missing anything regarding jump attacks or Iraklis. I always doubt if Jumping Heavy gets the Eminence boost because you land during the smash.
Currently my main pawn is a warrior because I'm trying to make them have max str. Which three skills would you recommend that the AI would have the easiest time using?
is the music from Conan? If true, which title? :) Great Videos btw! Played DD first on Xbox360 back in the days and found the Netflix Series a couple of days before and installed it for the PC immediately :D
Great video and very informative. Wish I would have seen it before I spent 600 some hours in Dragon's Dogma. At the moment, I am a bit burnt out and would like to wait a little before my next playthrough, which makes the wait for a sequel much harder. My favorite class has always been the Fighter, the things you can do with the sword in combination with the shield never ever makes the combat boring, but it does become a bit annoying trying to eliminate enemies on places that you can't physically go to. Well, time for the fighter video next.
I've been using a Warrior pawn that actually plays very well though it took a lot of experimenting. I like to create low level pawns (LVL20) and created a warrior pawn with the following after much min maxing and DP grinding, in order for it to be powerful at a low level: Pommel Bash Exodus Slash Corona Slash Augments: Vehemence Clout Eminence Ferocity Predation Tenacity The big turning point for the pawn to work well was equipping the gold forged "Rusted Warhammer". As warriors are rather slow, the topor effects kicks in on the enemy quickly when the pawns use Exodus/Corona slash. The topor effect is a big deal as it gives the warrior pawn ample of time to dish out punishment, destroying the enemies while recovering health with the predation augment for any damage it may have taken during the process. My pawn survives so much longer because of this as it strikes faster than any enemy when they are topored.
That is an ideal setup for a Warrior pawn. I still find better results with a Fighter pawn, but when I rolled with my 3 Warrior pawn setup.... that was one of my funnest plays.
I still haven't tried the Warrior cause I was discouraged a bit by the slow speed and lack of skills, but I'm definitely trying it after watching this! I realise I was looking for the wrong things with the class. Also I love that conan-style gear you have in the first part of the vid!
Nice Prateek. I am happy you are willing to try the vocation. I also used to ignore Warrior. But I tried to figure out why this was, and I wanted it to be fun. I had this problem with a few vocations. Gotta try them all, and find the style that suites you, because they all can be super fun and overpowered, if you can understand them.
Is baffling Warrior can't use six skills. They could have easily divided them in charged and regular ones for instance, or get rid of redundant ones to give us buff/debuff skills for instance. Then we could equip stagger oriented or regular attacks on R1 (Corona, Lunge, Exodus, Pommel), and buff/debuff or charged attacks on L1 (Arcs, Lash and any form of Cry).
I used to think this as well, but now I think Fighter has the hardest time with some situations. Warrior has greater reach with jump light attack than the Fighter, making Lich and Wights actually reachable. And no shield makes it tough, but Exodus Slash solves that problem. And yes, hella fun indeed Good to see you still here Fanchen
I'll always come back to see some great insight/gameplay from you, this game is just too fun! Just out of curiosity, do you have a preferred pawn I could use? Even though I know you don't use them much, I remember a video of you teaching skull splitter to a strider pawn. It's totally up to you, I think it'd be cool for me to adventure once again with a different cast haha.
I'm on PC, and you are welcome to use my pawn Nilly. I don't really have any specific named pawns other than a few. If you are on steam, my user name is nihil0.0. If you are thinking of just a pawn vocation setup, then it would depend on what your vocation is. Like when I am Sorcerer, I will either go with 3 Sorcerer pawns, or with 1 Sorcerer, 1 Fighter, and 1 Strider. Or if I go as Warrior, the I would like to go with 3 Sorcerers, and I be the aggro.
Awesome thanks! I am on steam, although I started off on xbox first. I guess any vocation should be fine since I do switch around relatively often. Usually I just roll with a well rounded setup.
How do u have only 3 k subs u should have way more u still make vids and they r very informational and cool thanks for this vid btw it's really good and told me alot about the warrior class
I landed a fully charged idomatibale slash on a dragons heart once and the damage was insane. Mind you this was on hard mode where the dragons are tanky as hell.
4:22 that's what happens when you use pommel bash 😱 6:06 Thats what happens when you use corona slash 😳 6:15 😩 that's what happens when you try to use corona slash a second time 8:40 😌 that's what happens when you try to use indomitable lunge 10:35 😰 that's what happens when you think about using exodus slash
Thank you for creating these videos. The game is pretty easy on normal (too easy actually) so I completely glossed over the nuances of the combat system. Hopefully I'll learn to apply this knowledge to a third playthrough if I still have the steam for it.
Sure thing Josh, thanks for checkin' 'em out. The biggest difference with Normal and Hard is the Stagger and knockdown on enemies. In Normal they will fall pretty easy, which leads to extra damage. In Hard mode, you need to attack them when they are vulnerable to stagger and Knockdown, and build that meter up. Knock them down and the rest is the same. Well, you take double damage and you use Double stamina, so you will need to use stamina wisely, and get out of the habit that you have an endless supply. I'm not sure if you have seen my Attack patterns videos, but I show some of the enemy attack patterns, and some of their weak times for knockdown. ruclips.net/video/Nk0a792z_DY/видео.html
Nihil0.0 Thanks for the link. I only discovered your channel this morning after I saw you name dropped by whisper123 in one of their videos so I have a whole channel's worth of videos to browse through yet. I doubt I'll ever even attempt hard mode honestly but I'll check it out regardless just to marvel at the mastery on show.
I'm still sort of sad that this game doesn't have a file system for different characters. After playing the game to level 200 as a hunter, and it started to get boring so I tried warrior but found basically any armor I tried to be too heavy for my character.
The boredom and lack of skill sets could be easily overlooked if the Warrior could lift and hurl oversized enemies and bosses and use smaller enemies as makeshift weapons.
I prefer Hammer, as ugly as most of them look. But stagger at a higher number just feels better. Also your damage as a Warrior is relying on not the actual damage you deal, rather the height of which the enemy is thrown, and how much fall damage they take. You can throw most enemies in BBI with 'Arc of Obliteration' so high that they die from fall damage.
I still need to try get into Warrior more but I just wish it was a bit more powerful, or at least didn't have so many handicaps. It's purely for roleplaying reasons, as in real life, longswords are really the only swords I know how to fight with properly, next to military sabres. Just... not greatsword-sized "longswords." Since you brought up the two types of Warrior playstyles, which one would you say you prefer to play as?
I am usually a speedster solo warrior, or a charger warrior sometimes, as long as I have pawns. A solo Warrior is impractical. With pawns is where Warrior becomes fun. As long as you understand your role as Warrior, and have a good team, warrior is pretty fun to play. I also didn't like the idea of warrior. The 3 skill slots never bothered me, as I usually only use 3 skills anyway. But eventually I tried to understand warrior, and came out with a good time.
I like how his grim goblin demonstrations change from class to class. For the most part, it's your standard action movie fare. Legolas or Captain America just breezing through enemy after enemy. The fighter and warrior demonstrations look more like the first fight in Kickass.
I love how you do these vids im mostly a figther gotten really good with my sword and shield hope you do a fighter class vid to give more players some tips
I'm close to finishing Berserk and picked up the switch version so I figured I'd do a warrior playthrough. I don't care too much about min/maxing stats but I also don't want to make warrior any worse than it already is. What are your recommendations for leveling?
Honestly, the way I level a Warrior is just play as Fighter and Warrior. Get the desired augments from other vocations, but simply play and level as Warrior. You get good health and defense and attack. That's what Warrior needs. Some Magic Archer's magic defense stat will be nice to get a bit of though.
I personally don’t like how they spec’d the warrior class as far as damage goes. I also wish they put more skills in the game for them that were quicker and, while not providing good stagger bar damage on 1st hit, the skills provided increased stagger and eventual knockdown with each subsequent hit from that skill/skills. Theres only like 3 skills that really punish the enemy stagger/knockdown bar. With the only viable one to use being Arc of deliverance. Idk.. maybeI just haven’t found the right build for it yet
I've always hated how slow the attacks are. With the hammer that makes sense, but if you're giving your player a 2-handed sword, why make it so slow? They are some of the fastest melee weapons ever made.
So glad I found your videos. These are wonderful for helping me get other folks into the game, plus your music choices are solid.

I always wonder if they did it on purpose or just forgot. Dogma Online had the proper amount, just like any other vocation
i could see them doing it purposefully if warrior was one of the earlier vocations created. warrior is stronger than people realize, so limiting em cus they can take out 2-3 levels of healthbar in a single hit is understandable.
but that idea of "balance" had to of been thrown out the window when they were doing the other vocations. for the better, cus becoming super OP is fun in a way, and ppl can hinder themselves if they want it to be more "fair". and then must of forgotten about poor ol' warrior and never updated em.
sad too, cus they coulda rectified it in dark arisen expansion ; / which if i didnt have powerful pawns with me, i woulda been SCREWED going through it.
LOL im actually re-install dragons dogma so i can mess around with warrior until MHW comes out. i can thank your vid for that ;p
edit: re-installing reminds me why i stoppped... i dont want to fuck up my pawns inclinations ;p
V J I think they did 3 skills only because the idea was each weapon equiped can only ultilizes 3 skills and unfortunately for warriors, unlike other classes, can only use 1 weapon
In defense for mage and sorcerer who only have 1 weapon, they are the “smart” people in the fantasy world so they can’t be like the “dumb” rock head barbarian who only have the brain for 3 skills (and would any body play a wizard that only knows 3 spells)
Strider Master Class
@@treacherousjslither6920 before the Nerf with invisible skill assasin used to be the best, after that now is ranger
They do make throw blast and pawns for a reason lol
Fighter is worse imo. Warrior has the advantage of having more range and stagger power/resistance. The shield is useless when you can just use the , better to just go MK
Warrior deserve all the love 😍 . great overview on the class now more arisens can be warriors thanks to you .
Yep, Warriors are often overlooked. But once really tried, are very fun. Especially with Iraklis
Nihil0.0 so true
Probably like the 3rd time I've watched this and I still thought I accidentally turned my phone off when the screen went black in the beginning
Can't wait for the Ranger one!
Who am I kidding, I can't wait for all of them lol
Ranger is next. Thanks man.
I can just tell you on the Ranger build. Get to a higher level, can't remember which level it is? Then get the move, "Great Gamble." Congrats you are now a God, just make sure to put on the Conqueror's p something?
well shit, i didn't know warrior has s.
time to waste another 200 hours of my life, thanks.
Waste? Shoot, that's quality time well spent. Good times ahead Alex
Or pummel being X/🔳 + Y/∆
More tools for combat = better combat
Edit: fingers crossed for a spiritual successor, with multiplayer co-op as well 🤞🤞
You probably hear this enough, but your schematics videos are very awesome.
Finally getting into DDDA during the big corona happening. Looked at a bunch of videos for explanation about the game. Subbed you.
Good stuff.
same here, most informative ddda youtuber available
Same. What’s your pawn?
I have an alternate to this. Very very simple. Just make sure to use the augments for more damage to jumping attacks and an augment to boost knockdowns. All flying enemies are knocked down in 2 light jumping attacks. Then use the heavy jumping attack when they fall.
Exodus is akin to a parry per se, and it makes me wish there was more visual/audio feedback of it, like we're batting attacks away. Only noticed when a Cyclops reeled after doing that side sweep while I was mid animation.
That would be nice,a sound depending on enemy's weapon wether it is wood or metal on metal..
Hey, just subbed to the channel. I can see that you haven't uploaded in a while, so just wanted to say I hope all is well and you're keeping safe, tc.
Good to see someone else who takes the game seriously and knows how to role play. Good stuff man this earned you a sub.
Thank you
Much appreciated with the guide! I picked up Dragons Dogma: DA for my ps4 a few weeks ago and I'm addicted
It's an awesome game. Very addictive
Curiosity got the better of me, and I randomly tried this vocation out. Now I can't play anything else.
1 thing Warrior must have = Eminence + jump and light attack/heavy attack
Cannot agree more; super important to learn to be good at jump attacks.
I wish I had watched this about twenty levels ago.... So helpful!
This is very good quality of concept and informations
Love the videos man. Could use some tips on getting my stagger power up and knockdown up. Videos are great bud.
Ultimately you don't need numbers for knockdown and stagger. This video below explains
ruclips.net/video/Oe_JRCF4kSg/видео.html
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that a Conan cosplay? Cause it looks pretty sweet. And given me a reason to play Warrior, to be a badass.
It is Conan roleplay. Bloody fun too
Add the barbarian chieftain helmet and be complete
Where did you find the Conan gear? I did a warrior last time and have a love for the longsword anyway but what is the other armor you have?
I played warrior for hours on end ever since the Xbox 360 I thought I knew everything until I watched this you are a amazing human being I didn’t even know there were s and thought the vengeance slash only charged to orange thank you
Nice Luis, Thanks for checkin' it out. Exodus Slash is a must for me, when I go Warrior. It's the only evasive skill besides running... And I am not a fan of running.
Is there an older version of this video that had dream theater?
Good memory. There was. I deleted it after I did this "updated" video
@@Nihil0.0 good stuff haha, it was from that video that I found out about dream theater. Just making sure I wasn't imagining things
Have never played warrior extensively in six years of having the game. You just convinced me to.
Awesome. That is one of my primary goals with my uploads. To encourage players to try new things. Get out of the comfort zone
Name of the songs? Great video btw, warrior was always my favorite of DDDA's vocations.
I'm always learning something in this game. I can't say how many times I've play Dragons Dogma DA but let's just say alot.
Same, and warrior is my all time favourite, fighter second..
This was very informative and inspiring. Will try warrior next time. Hmm. Have to download mod for more saves. Thank you.
Its 2018 and im still like this game. Warrior is the most fun class i have ever played.
Warrior is very fun
Thanks for the comment JJ.
This music reminds me of gauntlet dark legacy, very appropriate for a dragon's dogma video, good job!
Thanks Joshua. I do spend a long time trying to make the music fits and flows well. Each vocation will usually have it's own style and genre.
Being able to use 6 of these skills instead of just 3 would have made a huge difference.
fucking stared dying from laughter when you showcased the pommel strike/pommel bash move, it's great for fast attack and staggering... gets knocked down, the goblin starts stomping on you
Yeah, those Grim Goblins are bastards. They have high stagger resistance and they are quick.
Did you know you can jump cancel exodus slash's second anim with a jump, then you can hop slash them quickly
Thanks for making this video I have gotten stuck in a Ranger rut. Seeing this makes me wanna start a fresh game with warrior!!
Thanks Ivan. I know what you mean. I have been stuck with a few vocations, while ignoring the others. I am happy to hear.
Eminence does work
Currently my main pawn is a warrior because I'm trying to make them have max str. Which three skills would you recommend that the AI would have the easiest time using?
is the music from Conan? If true, which title? :) Great Videos btw! Played DD first on Xbox360 back in the days and found the Netflix Series a couple of days before and installed it for the PC immediately :D
Song is called "The Colosseum" by Dereck Fiechter
Great video and very informative. Wish I would have seen it before I spent 600 some hours in Dragon's Dogma. At the moment, I am a bit burnt out and would like to wait a little before my next playthrough, which makes the wait for a sequel much harder. My favorite class has always been the Fighter, the things you can do with the sword in combination with the shield never ever makes the combat boring, but it does become a bit annoying trying to eliminate enemies on places that you can't physically go to. Well, time for the fighter video next.
Thanks Julius. Fighter is a fun vocation. Hell, all of them are really. Thanks for checking it out.
I've been using a Warrior pawn that actually plays very well though it took a lot of experimenting. I like to create low level pawns (LVL20) and created a warrior pawn with the following after much min maxing and DP grinding, in order for it to be powerful at a low level:
Pommel Bash
Exodus Slash
Corona Slash
Augments:
Vehemence
Clout
Eminence
Ferocity
Predation
Tenacity
The big turning point for the pawn to work well was equipping the gold forged "Rusted Warhammer".
Your right about the fighter pawn. I'm actually just about to watch your video on that one:)
What is your setup for a max level Warrior Pawn?
Probably one of the most difficult to play in solo, but hella fun and immersive
I used to think this as well, but now I think Fighter has the hardest time with some situations. Warrior has greater reach with jump light attack than the Fighter, making Lich and Wights actually reachable. And no shield makes it tough, but Exodus Slash solves that problem.
And yes, hella fun indeed
Good to see you still here Fanchen
Thank you for your words Panda. I am hapy that I can help
So when's the perfect time to switch from the fighter over to the warrior is it when I become level 10 or maybe a higher level
Holy hell, I've been playing this game for 6 years, and I main warrior, yet I ddin't know most fot his stuff. You can roll after youve been hit?!
hehe. Yeah, rolling after a throwback is super helpful. Fighter and MK can do it as well
A good warrior pawn is rare and valuable but don't waste your time leveling up as warrior yourself. Nothing is gonna die

Thanks Nihill, these vids are gold
Exodus Slash
Whirlwind Slash
Corona Slash
Use whatever gear increases your stagger/knockdown ability and just go apeshit!
Never forget Pommel Bash!
(Wait
only three slots, I'm dumb)
What difficulty? I'm debating on solo hard mode
And what is your favorite way/skills to play as a warrior?
i feel restrained without the roll that is only restricted to striders, rolling makes all the difference
Man... i wish warriors had a better speedster playstyle. They still feel so slow, and damage feels unsatisfying.
I landed a fully charged idomatibale slash on a dragons heart once and the damage was insane. Mind you this was on hard mode where the dragons are tanky as hell.
4:22 that's what happens when you use pommel bash 😱
6:06 Thats what happens when you use corona slash 😳
6:15 😩 that's what happens when you try to use corona slash a second time
8:40 😌 that's what happens when you try to use indomitable lunge
10:35 😰 that's what happens when you think about using exodus slash
Cuantos más años pasan más increíble me parece este juego.

What armor were you wearing in the beginning? My character has those stupid bands around their waist when i try to wear just the shorts
I'm still sort of sad that this game doesn't have a file system for different characters. After playing the game to level 200 as a hunter, and it started to get boring so I tried warrior but found basically any armor I tried to be too heavy for my character.
What are those barbarian sounding songs you used
The boredom and lack of skill sets could be easily overlooked if the Warrior could lift and hurl oversized enemies and bosses and use smaller enemies as makeshift weapons.
another good vid, always fun to see you play
Thanks Ed.
What’s the best skills or more effective skills to add to your Warrior pawn ?
I like Corona Slash and Pommel Strike. I have also seen Arc of do well, but I've seen it fail more often than do well.
The warrior has parry skill! I gotta play back through this game.
Oh yeah. Escape/Exodus is essential for Warrior. It's the only way to defend. And Warrior is a fun one
that goblin stomp 6:07 rofl
I prefer Hammer, as ugly as most of them look.
But stagger at a higher number just feels better.
Also your damage as a Warrior is relying on not the actual damage you deal, rather the height of which the enemy is thrown, and how much fall damage they take.
You can throw most enemies in BBI with 'Arc of Obliteration' so high that they die from fall damage.
That's a nice video you got there.
I still need to try get into Warrior more but I just wish it was a bit more powerful, or at least didn't have so many handicaps.
It's purely for roleplaying reasons, as in real life, longswords are really the only swords I know how to fight with properly, next to military sabres.
Just... not greatsword-sized "longswords."
Since you brought up the two types of Warrior playstyles, which one would you say you prefer to play as?
I am usually a speedster solo warrior, or a charger warrior sometimes, as long as I have pawns. A solo Warrior is impractical. With pawns is where Warrior becomes fun. As long as you understand your role as Warrior, and have a good team, warrior is pretty fun to play.
I also didn't like the idea of warrior. The 3 skill slots never bothered me, as I usually only use 3 skills anyway. But eventually I tried to understand warrior, and came out with a good time.
PJ McDaid I spotted a wild nerd in the comments
I like how his grim goblin demonstrations change from class to class. For the most part, it's your standard action movie fare. Legolas or Captain America just breezing through enemy after enemy.
The fighter and warrior demonstrations look more like the first fight in Kickass.
Idk wut i'm about to say but why is Clout not included in the augment list?

Nihil0.0 awesome thanks my man
Sure thing man. Thanks for checkin' them out
I'm close to finishing Berserk and picked up the switch version so I figured I'd do a warrior playthrough.
Thanks! :)
excellent guide
Good overview, sir, thank you for sharing ^^
Cool, thanks Svorty
I personally don’t like how they spec’d the warrior class as far as damage goes. I also wish they put more skills in the game for them that were quicker and, while not providing good stagger bar damage on 1st hit, the skills provided increased stagger and eventual knockdown with each subsequent hit from that skill/skills.
Theres only like 3 skills that really punish the enemy stagger/knockdown bar. With the only viable one to use being Arc of deliverance. Idk.. maybeI just haven’t found the right build for it yet
When I played with warrior my skills selection are corona slash, indomitable lunge and arc of might
I always have to have Pommel bash and Exodus slash. the third varies depending on the role, but I am typically not a fan of Arc of
These schematics are so damn cool
Thanks Jordan. I did spend alot of time on the Schematics series. I am happy they are well received.
I've always hated how slow the attacks are. With the hammer that makes sense, but if you're giving your player a 2-handed sword, why make it so slow? They are some of the fastest melee weapons ever made.
