If you have problems removing your pedals try this: 1. Set your crank horizontal, paralel to the ground. 2. Set the wrench over, or aligned as much as possible to your crank. 3. Hold the front brake or if you ride brakeless stick your front wheel against a wall and step on the pedal. 4. Push your heel over the wrench and rest your body weight over the wrench, pushing it down. The pedal should get lose easily. 5. Remove the pedal. 6. Repeat on the other side.
I remember learning the pedal thing by doing it back when I was about 7 years old. My father wasn't mechanically inclined, so I learned everything myself. Eventually I branched out into engine building, but there's nothing like working on BMXes! I get just as excited as I did when I was young, I'm just hanging out, and I sure don't know it all! That's forsure
You're a true brochacho to Adam for getting him the car, Alfredo. :-) On V-day everyone was posting couple photos & I was using your "Installing a Headset & Bottom Bracket on Your BMX" to dismantle the entire BB area & putting fresh grease in! :-D #ALFGANG
+ Alfredo Mancuso wish you had done the baby powder tip I told you about. Weird as it is and seldom will it happen, it allows the tube the ability to move inside the tire. When they stick (rare again I know but still) from heat like I have here in TX, or just the tire getting warm riding. The lack of ability to move inside the tire can cause a flat. Great example is a big drop/gap. If the tire is moving a bit when you land and the tube is stuck to it...it can pinch between the bead and rim. That's inside the tire that you can't see. Seems so small till it happens and your walking (unless its the back tire, then I have another tip for that). Worst is doing what you just did putting fresh rubber on and the tube sticks in 1 spot pulling it out. You think nothing of it till you go to pump it up and it won't hold air, or you start riding and notice it is getting low. Damn micro tear in the tube sucks, probably why many tubes have some type powder in the package. It's a very useful trick to store tubes if you keep about 6 around like I do, add some baby powder to a plastic ziploc bag and put the tubes in it. They don't seem to dry rot even if you don't touch them for over a year and already have the powder on them. You don't need much, just like 1teaspoon and roll it around in the tire. Shake any extra out and install it as normal. TIP FOR REAR FLATS: Nothing worse than walking miles in some cases with a flat. You wish you could just pedal...wait, you can. If it's a back flat, or even a front and you have everything to fix it but a tube. Sit backwards on the bars and ride home, of course if it's a flat in front swap the tube to the rear (if you have the tools). This has saved me soooo many times from heat of the summer and a few miles walk with my bike. ANOTHER emergency trick, stuff grass/dirt/leaves/paper anything that won't hurt the tire inside, when it is really packed...pedal slowly home. It's a mountain bike trick, but it works. Much like a single $1.00 bill will fix a blown sidewall (within reason hole size) to keep you from a flat. Duct tape works too and can last a few days if you have to order a tire. Just check it every few days to make sure it hasn't rolled away anywhere exposing the tube. I put a cut piece of old tube over the hole then rubber cement followed by duct tape. Got to love the 5+ day wait on parts at times, this way you can still ride if you just monitor the hole daily (or every little while if your riding real hard). Hope that helps even 1 person from that long walk home. + Alfredo Mancuso my fiancé told me "say HI for me" so just did lol
So baby powder on the tubes b3fore assembly stops th3 sticking? I just seen this when I replaced a spoke on my mtb, it was welded through the phenomenon you speak of. I may be the guy who listens and does this. I used to carry a extra tube and a pump on my mtb in my Fanny pack, tools too. These hardcore bmx’ers, maybe consider this ? I saw alfredo there get a flat in Dubai. A Fanny pack stocked would have saved th3 day.
no i just got a pair of small forks with almost no clearance with the tires i got now, i got a smaller set but i'm waiting to go through the set i got now
Awesome video Fredo. As I was watching I couldn't help but notice that there were so many puns and "that's what she said" moments. THANK YOU for not stating or pointing it out yourself as well as intentionally do it. That shit gets played out so fast, but I couldn't help but notice.
On my sod peg you just push the base of the steal and It slides off. When it's worn a bit have to pound it out with a socket but my demolition dumb chuck there's no removing the sleeve so it depends on the peg
What would a bike feel like if you were to put a bigger tire on the back and a smaller tire(more narrow) on the front? I really want to try this for some reason
Sheldon after getting used to the difference in size it probably would make that much of a difference unless you're riding dirt jumps, any small difference in tires will make dirt jumping feel insanely weird
Hey Douglas! I haven’t had the opportunity for an old school build from scratch but I️ do have a retro remake of the Dave Mirra Haro Flair that I️ might do pretty soon :) +Douglas Park
Alfredo Mancuso looking forward to seeing that build!, i love the original 80s bikes, but am more into finding low end stuff that never usually gets saved, ive found that you dont have to just have big brand names, ive found frames no name, or as yet unidentified, but as long as you have a decent grade of steel, good quality welding, .....
Alfredo Mancuso i know it’s late but I really enjoy these videos man wish u could continue with videos like this and the how-to videos too🤙🏼💯 either way enjoy the videos man
Rooski BMX lol good luck. i can guarantee you the only reason they have been successful is from their social media success. Look for bmx shops in your area and see how long they stay in business. More often than not there will be one, maybe two successful shops and the rest go out of business pretty quick. When I use to ride we avoided shops and ordered from dans comp unless it was an emergency
lol not a thing new for me, but i just changed my pedels today as my old ones were messed up (think i bent them when crashing in to someone) but now feels new :)
man I feel like maybe as im supporting yours, Adams, hicks, begin, and random others cause on RUclips yall should support my data coverage!!!! I feel that is pretty fair don't you think?
Hi dude, ur vids are pretty awesome u really know what ur doin, i enjoy riding but when it comes to maintenance im screwed, sure i can change a flat but that about the extent of it lol, so i rely on informative vids or pay a fortune in the shop. I ride a 2015 Free Agent and currently for the life of me i jst cant work out how to adjust the u brakes, their wide apart frm the rim n lever is relatively loose , wana tighten it all up, any tips plz? Also at the end of this vids is that the start of a song, it sounds pretty cool n was wondering who sings it ? Thanks dude.
Dude I'm 43 yrs old bored and want to get into bmxing I'm 5'10 240 what is a good BMX bike I should get I want a 21 inch frame can you help me please thanks 👍

i need new forks putting on my tire is an annoying game of chess, trying to get it aligned and not to rub is really a battle!
just straighten your front whee so it wouldn't rub around your forks. not the forks fault you just have buckled front wheel.
no i just got a pair of small forks with almost no clearance with the tires i got now, i got a smaller set but i'm waiting to go through the set i got now
Still wondering where Stevie is so we can go against him in Mortal Kombat aha

How do you remove plastic sleeves from pegs? I’ve tried on my year old stranger logo pegs, but I’d like to see your technique. Please make a video.
