I have been riding BMX for 10 years, and in that period of time, i have been picking up some pretty amazing lifehacks, to keep your bmx riding smooth. / olaselsjordbmx / olaselsjord
Life Hack BMX to prevent flat spray the inside of tire with flex seal the spray that you can use to patch holes in boats and roofs etc. They sell it at Walgreens Also scotch guard on the bottom of shoes outsideof riding gloves and on your tires it keeps water from collecting\sticking Its magical
So when you accidentally get your foot caught in between the tire and the bar end, it wouldnt hurts as much, or so that your toe cant actually go in. Im surprised there isnt a "bar end" that is actually made to go there. lol
Ola, if they have it in Norway you should try Lava soap instead of the sand. It contains pumice (which is abrasive) and won't destroy your plumbing like sand eventually will.
Holy crap ola, these hacks are the best ive seen so far. The idea with a dusty hub, pure genius. The bar end in the fork, EVEN BETTER. You are a massive inspiration for my bmx riding! Keep doing the crazy stuff you do!
I was intrigued by this cause I've actually used some of these methods before but other methods that I didn't knew at all that was shown in this video and I highly appreciate you posting it
OMG!!!!!!! This is the first vid I've seen of urs but omg all of these are genius I mean I've seen some but most are awesome, thx a TON!! U just got a new sub
the last bit were you to the bolt of thankyou soo much ola!!! you dont understand how much this has helped me omg!! its taken me so long to take this bolt of my profile to put a hub gaurd on!! your the man!!! much love!! safeeee
If you keep popping tires because of your spokes... tape black electrical tape over the inside of your spokes than put your rubber protecter back on. Fixxed
I been riding bmx for 23 years. Another good way to put grips on is a shoe lace. fold 3 times length of grip. Slide grip on to position desired. Loop shoe lace around fingers and pull. Done, Dry grips on your bike and ready to ride. :)
pipe cleaners work better then the shoelace does. instead of glue on the rim use rubbing alcohol to clean your rim and install soft pads. and dont put anything like pop or that on your rim, some of them have salt in them, salt corrodes aluminium also if your pads are old then remove them and feel the surface if it feels hard and like glazed over sand it down till it feels soft and fresh again. keeps your brake pads lasting longer. instead of removing that spacer and slimming it down you can use a flange from a grip inside the crank arm on one side of your cranks. if you set it up right itll prevent your cranks from spinning but wont make pedaling feel bad. flipping your stem doesnt necessarily make your bars taller, some frontload stems are designed to give you rise, if you flip it itll drop the bars. my personal hacks. for gyro users, derailer inner wires work as inners for dual lower cable set ups and are thinner and thus smoother. regular old school housing is smoother then linear housing so for gyros dont use linear housing. you can use v brake noodles for the bends on your lower cables. for levers if it hits your hand when you pull the lever, you can take a torch and heat the lever up and bend it with the closed end of a wrench, go slow. you can also do this to personal the shape. for dual lower gyro cables you can take a second london mod or dual cable adapter, remove the barrel adjusters and run your brake cable housing through it. then bolt it to the front most cable guide on your frame. use the rear one as normal. nor you have a dual cable guide to keep your cables looking nice and out of the way. this plus the v brake noodle mod keeps the housing running along time, whe the winners break just buy derailer inners, they are thinner and easier to break but because there are two of them the load is split so they work for gyros, just dont mash on the brake really hard. however because they are thinner and smoother it also means you need less spring tension to make your brakes spring back, meaning you can feather the break easier for manuals. meaning you only ever need 2 fingers at most. derailer inners are usually like 2$ or less in north america for basic ones. you can also get fancy teflon coated ones for even smoother brakes. if you notice you get alot of flats, take an old tube cut the valve stem off, split the tube up the belly side where the vale stem is(cut it through if need be to get at the belly easier) now you can wrap it around your entire tube before sticking it inside your tire, prevents lots of flats, can even help with pinch flats. if you run brakes, you can buy aluminium or titanium replacement bolts from bolt makers online. cheaper then bmx companies. you can aslo get shorter ones making it easier and faster to get your lever off. if you are worried about breaking a lever bolt just notch it under the head above the threads deep enough that its a thin spot, if it brakes youll have threads exposed above the lever so you can use pliers to get it out, shorter bolts make it quicker to remove. for those who brake alot of lever bolts. you can also get bolts with hex head keying all the way through so its hollow but if its brakes you can hammer an allen key in and remove it or go through the back of the lever. if you are concerned about weight or can find a 20 inch tube, take a 18inch or 16 inch and partially inflate it, and use that to get rolling. weight weenies do this along with light tires to remove rotational weight. helps with crazy spins. if you run brakes, when you bunny hop you can hold the lever and use pedal pressure to get your back end up really quick and easy. emergency hops. if you have thick dropouts like 8mm thick, you can take a frame guide thats removable for brake cables or a gyro tab and tap your drop out to add integrated chain tensionser. similar to how tree's lil buddy frame's chain tensioners worked. careful not to drill to deep. not recommended for beginners. if your headset or bb start feeling rough like gritty not smashed in, if you are planning to buy a new one try removing the seals and cleaning and re-greasing it first. it can make them last longer and bring them back from the dead.
Harvey The Hamster Like a creaking noise when you pedal? If that's what you're talking about then yes it's normal and you can fix it by taking off the crank arms and putting a load of grease on the splines and then put the crank arm back on.
OlaBMX ---- BMX LIFE HACK!- I just used this one the other day and it worked perfectly!! Lets say that you are out and about riding your bike through the city streets or some where descalet and your tire pops and of course there is not a bike shop around nearby nor do you have a spare tube, What should you do?! -Simply just walk your bike all the way back to where ever it is that you parked you car? -NOPE! *All you have to do is cut out the old punctured tube from the rim, Then just remove both sides of tire's bead off of the rim so that the bead is on the outside of the rim - (The rim should be seated intirely inside of the tire) If you have done this correctly, then you can simply just hop back onto the steede and ride the bike back to where ever it is that you need to be!!!! The rim will firmly sit inside of the tire and you can peddle as you normally would, Just without a tube. (You have to remove the tube intirely or else it'll catch up on the frame/Wheel and make it very hard to peddle) -DONT WORRY THIS WILL NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TOO THE TIRE UNLESS YOU ARE MILES AWAY FROM YOUR CAR, THEN WITH THAT MUCH RIDING ON THE TIRE YOU MAY END UP PUTING A HOLE IN THE TIRE. *BUT THAT'S SURE AS HECK ALOT EASIER AND LESS STRESSFULL TO DO, RATHER THAN WALKING YOUR BIKE FOREVERR!!!* GOOD LUCK EVERYONE, I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT SOMEDAY!! -HAPPY RIDING TO YOU ALL :)
OlaBMX - LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS INGENIUS LIFE HACK OLA, AND IF YOU HAVE EVER HEARD OF THIS HACK BEFORE!?!?! #OlaBmx #BmxLifeHacksSaveTheDay ;)
nice vid - my life hack is: When you just start grinding and you would be right foot forward or left foot forward - the pedal on the side you grind on wears out due to you putting your pedal on the ledge, typical when starting off grinds - Me, since i'm right foot forward - used to trade a pedal with someone who is left foot forward and grinding on their pedal.. Not sure if i explained it well hehe
I have been riding for 6 years now and I'm 13 I love getting high air when on jumps so when I'm not competing I will put tennis balls in the tires to get a better bunny hop and bounce
To replace grips that have no lockrings put a screwdriver down old the grips and pour in a bit of pure alcohol then twist it off. if you use enough and do it quick you can just slide the new ones on and just twist till it drys up. loads better than zip ties put it that way lol
Bmx bar end hack - if you have an old plastic bar end that is stuck inside your bars you could take a wine bottle opener and twist it out 👍🏼👍🏼
Pete Iliopolos Now that's a good one!
you are a legend I spent like 30 minutes carving it out when I wish I wouldve just seen this lmao, next time..
A. Zak WW
Pete Iliopolos i do that a lot! :D

At first I thought this was gonna be a rip off of Adam's vid, but props to you for giving credit where its due!

Zack Dugger I can't make that (odyssey r 32
I didn't understood the use of it. (Maybe my bad english)
So when you accidentally get your foot caught in between the tire and the bar end, it wouldnt hurts as much, or so that your toe cant actually go in.

Ola, if they have it in Norway you should try Lava soap instead of the sand. It contains pumice (which is abrasive) and won't destroy your plumbing like sand eventually will.
Jason Parrish oryou could use salt
Also a good idea, because it disolves.
J. Parrish lol
I love your videos. I would love to see you, Harry Main, and Callum Bibby play a game of MAFIA. Let's see who the best MAFIA rider is.
Thats a sick idea!!🙌🏾🙌🏾
and Tom Justice also, he is the man
Also to stop your cranks spinning round you can put a grip on the tube that goes in between the BB!
Jack Mould or just use less grease
put innertube between the crank arm and the BB
that glue hack is ace! cheers ola
Sand down the drain is not a good idea kids.
Nah no its not...
jordan buscema use salt
@@codysaunders1205 lol, ur evil
I live in Florida we got sand everywhere, but its not a good idea to put sand down the drain. just hose ur hand out in the yard.
I was searching for this comment when I saw the sand.

is it normal for my bmx to make a weird noise when I'm riding I heard it in some videos does yours make a weird noise when you cycle?
Harvey The Hamster Like a creaking noise when you pedal? If that's what you're talking about then yes it's normal and you can fix it by taking off the crank arms and putting a load of grease on the splines and then put the crank arm back on.
Ive needed that last tip forever, never truly needed a cone wrench but now I really don't lmao thanks man!
Cut out little rubber spacers out of your old tires and put them on your bb axle so your cranks don't move when you kick a whip round ect
progression squad!

works with salt and lemon juice too

Another good one. Butter (or blunt ) knives to get your tires off. I’ve done this with ever bike I’ve owned and has never failed
If your break cables are rubbing against your frame what do u do u just put Velcro on the part where the cable is rubbing

Can someone tell me what size is the front tire? (minute 3:35)
Coexist. 20 inches
Not sure on the tyre.. but the wheel will most likely be 20" (inches)
he asked about the tyre not the wheel.
i have the same it's a demolition momentum tires 20x2,35 110 psi
It’s probably 20 inches
Thanks man.
hey thanks for these great hacks
is your grips move us insulater tape to stop them moving

Bert Manche or you can put white out or spray paint in one side of your pedal or ride metal pedals
The grips can also be softened if stretched on ur bars with compressed air.
liking for you being honest :)
thanks for the wheel hack.(. bolting the wheel outside the the frame ).. i could finaly tighten my loose wheel bearings
No probs dude😺 good luck!

10. Nice thank you
why didnt i ever think to flip the stem?! Awesome video.
I had that problem with my bike as well. Flipped my stem today and it feels waay better now.
Because the front load stems are supposed to be the way they are assembled if that makes sense
5:44 really helped
use an aircompresser to put on grips
The 9th and the 10th were the best ola.
I love all you videos I like all your videos I subscribe you
