I just got back into riding after 15 years I am 32 now and I want to it pick back up again. I used to love it and forgot how much I loved it as a kid now I can see why I loved it since I got back into riding again.
#ALFsquad such a sick guy. You're so generous and kind with everything. Much love man keep up with the sick af videos. Been a subscriber for a while and I've never been disappointed
I ride Merritt option 2.35, they are very fast and grippy. For street they are very good, park they are very good, for dirt riding they are actually good for slick tyres, they do have grippy sections on the sides which help a lot, for metal ramps I found that they weren’t too good due to the slick middle section, and in the rain don’t try and ride, they are too slippy. Overall they are really good tyres and I’m happy with them. I previously rode BSD donnasqueaks and they were very good too! Good video as usual Alf.
No love for the Maxxis Grifters? They are super light, have good sidewall strength and a great bead, and have absurd grip. Having cut one up to dig around, I'm pretty damn confident with that over any other tire I've used on a BMX. I feel like I'm riding twice as fast on them and grip at much more acute angles comfortably on them than anything else I've ridden. Only thing I'm uncomfortable on are cold, wet, metal surfaces.
I havnt rode now for like 14-15 years, these vids make me wana get another bmx. Back in the day we rocked alot of Primo & Maxxis tires. These Cult tires are nice thou👌
With having to remove the air to take the back wheel off because of breaks, I know a way around it. I set my brakes up so the barrel adjuster is all the way out, that way I can loosen the brakes if the wheel moves or if I get a buckle, but loosen the brakes all the way on jsut the barrel adjuster and then you can unhook the brake arms from the wire or unhook the splitter wire from the cable straddle and the brakes are loose to take the wheel out. Oh also with the small chance you see this you said you'll give away the old tires. I live in the uk, I'm guessing that means I can't be part of it?
i 2nd that, just got maxxis grifter tires the other week, got them in 1.85" and always ride them at 110psi for flatland, they grip better than 2.10" velo tires i had before.
I got some woodland camo tires on my ancient Rolds Royce Union bike because I'm always wearing bdu army pants, the Royce Union is all chrome so anything would look sweet on it. I like those white walls you had on it
Any recommendations for tires that would be decent all around, for some concrete and asphalt, as well as a decent bit of dirt and plenty of gravel...? We live in a rural area, so when at home, the kid and I will be riding our new bikes on dirt and on a gravel driveway and gravel road... would it be best to find an all around tire for now, and later if he gets into street/freestyle kind of stuff, get him a second set of wheels and tires for when he is in town or at the little park we have here? Hoping for now the stock tires on our new bikes don't just immediately pop on gravel roads....
Animal GLH 2.3. I run a pair and never had any issues on any surface. They eat dirt, concrete, plywood, asphalt, gravel and shoes for breakfast. They really do Go Like Hell.
I ride in the city so no ramps for me. I don't ride parks because there aren't any where I live so I got a set of Mission Tracker 2.4 balloon tires for when I'm jumping off anything tall like ledges and I don't slam my rims on the landing. My tired have the street squares and triangles pattern that are on most normal street tires, I haven't had gripping problems but I haven't tried a metal ramp either, I doubt they'd grip well on metal at all.
Brandon Vinson it comes down to personal preference like I can’t 5 a longer back end on a 21 but if I’m on my preference a 20.75 with about a 13 back end it’s super easy idk what ur skill level is but if ur just beginning then it’s all gonna feel the same but as u advance u will figure out what sizes feel better and make things feel easier

Alf help me I'm looking to buy a pair of sun BFR's I had a pair on my trails bike but it got stolen. I'm ok with not having the frame (K2 shovel) but i loved the rims and would like to have them again.
The only reason most bmx pros use a front 2.35 sized tyre and a 2.2 sized one at the back... Is simple... With a fatter tyre at the front it covers more space between the forks and wheel when it's blown up making it a smaller gap to foot jam and not kill ur toes compared to a thin at the front..
Great video. What would you recommend for me to do for a creak in my crank/ bb? I re greased and re tightened everything. Still has a creak. Plz help. TIA
Alright so I’m new to BMX all I really know how to do is bunny hops and I ride street I currently ride odyssey BROC R-grip tires (20x2.4) and I use there odyssey air supply tube, but I’ve ran thru at least 6 inner tubes in just 2 weeks.I inflate the tires with a air pump I check the beads to make sure they don’t slip out during inflation to prevent blowout but every time I hit close to 45-55 psi the tube explodes had it happen 3 times and I was forced to ride on less then 40 psi when I hit the road and I’ve gotten 3 flats while out riding (tires max out at 100psi) is there anything I’m doing wrong are the tires I have no for my style of riding? Are the tubes faulty?I would Appreciate any help I’m just trying to ride 😔😞
Anyone know what's the widest I can go on a specialized fuse 1 old school? Not sure what's on it now as it's a very old bike and I've had it since new so tires are really worn to the point where I can't read what it says lol ... Fixing a bike for my boy. Thanks.
It mainly depends on, how hard you dropped off, how much air pressure you had in your tire, the type of tire, inner tube, and back wheel and what kind of frame.
I heard they're good, I also heard the Odyssey Springfield brakes are good for clearance too. Would be useful if companies mention how much clearance the brakes have
